darsedz Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I think you need Barbie or Ken to complete this project, self running bike looks little "strange" Very good project, looking nice to play with it... Quote
JM1971 Posted January 5, 2014 Author Posted January 5, 2014 (edited) Her Vespa has dodgy steering and wont stay up because it has no engine, she needs to trade for my ATC which stays upright but not for very long :D Edited January 5, 2014 by JM1971 Quote
Technyk32231 Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Her Vespa has dodgy steering and wont stay up because it has no engine, she needs to trade for my ATC which stays upright but not for very long :D I'd love to just build this and put a Barbie on it, but all my sister's Barbies are "mysteriously" headless. JM1971 Posted January 6, 2014 Author Posted January 6, 2014 Barbie driving a ATC might as well be headless because they tip pretty easily :P Final vid, everything is done, watch out for the sticky tape mod :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4g07mUDDlU Quote
darsedz Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 with this tape you can start with a drift race ;) Quote
Madoca 1977 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 (edited) I love its drifting! And I think that you need someone rides on it. Like him. Edited January 8, 2014 by Madoca 1977 Quote
Rockbrick Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Barbie? Ken? I have one of these waiting when I get round to trying this marvelous Honda ATC alternative for the 9398: Quote
JM1971 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 Those robots are cool, I'll try and make one and try to link the arms to the handlebars, maybe also peddling would look really funny. :D Quote
JGW3000 Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Looks great and robust, almost makes me want to build one out of my 41999! How many crashes did it survive without breaking? Quote
darsedz Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Those robots are cool, I'll try and make one and try to link the arms to the handlebars, maybe also peddling would look really funny. :D my son uses one as driver to his lego cross-motorcycle, and a few others formed the team playing with footbol... they are universal;)) Quote
JM1971 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Posted January 8, 2014 I'll look into getting one on payday, the odds of making a decent robot rider out of the parts left is slim. @JGW3000, its pretty tough, in a front collision the wheel connects with the steering servo so there is minimal strain on the forks, the battery box tends to come off every other crash, no biggie. The 41999 does not have all the parts needed its close though ... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/JM1971/HondaATC/missing.jpg Quote
JM1971 Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Some simple instructions. 1 http://www.brickshel.../atc_insr_1.jpg 2 http://www.brickshel.../atc_insr_2.jpg 3 http://www.brickshel.../atc_insr_3.jpg 4 http://www.brickshel.../atc_insr_4.jpg 5 http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/JM1971/HondaATC/atc_insr_5.jpg Edited January 10, 2014 by JM1971 Quote
darsedz Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 thanks, can you add 2-3 view on all parts showing whole design :) Quote
JM1971 Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Done, also added 'parts you need' pages 1-4, instructions are tougher than you think :D Quote
JM1971 Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Thx, its up on rebrickable... http://rebrickable.c...M1971/honda-atc Simple PDF instructions... http://www56.zippysh...17024/file.html Going to have a go at proper instructions using ldraw or whatever it is they use :D Edited January 13, 2014 by JM1971 Quote
Mowikan Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 First of all: what a great moc! It was a pleasure to build and to play with! I have made some customizations of you're model :) Reduced speed. Some reinforcement of the drive train en make it wider for stability. Some back panels. reinforced steering: Make the batterie box more steady: some beams and panels here and there: Quote
JM1971 Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 (edited) Wires holder, rear bumper/battery reinforcement, steering reinforcement, side fairing, wheels widened and also some reinforcement on the top strut. Does it come in black?.....oh it is black :D Some really innovative mods going on there and slowing it down makes it controllable instead of banging into everything :D Edited January 15, 2014 by JM1971 Quote
Mowikan Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I build lego for my kids They cant handle the speed, yet Quote
JM1971 Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) That's the biggest test of all, if it handles the punishment from kids then its doing well. My next project was going to be a quad, someone beat it to it a while ago, all from set 9398 ... http://www.eurobrick...topic=85437&hl= Edited January 16, 2014 by JM1971 Quote
