JeagerEX Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) Brick Fanatics is reporting that the Series 12 of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures will not be available until October 2014. As we know by now, The LEGO Movie Collectible Minifigures (71004) and The Simpsons Collectible Minifigures (71005) will be a subtheme of the Minifigures line and not part of the main numbered series. The LEGO Movie minifigures are starting to hit stores here in the US and will be officially available on January 1st and The Simpsons Collectible Minifigures will be available in May 2014. As we have mentioned last week, the LEGO Minifigures Online MMO will be out next summer and they will have a special line of minifigures to go along with the game. These minifigures will also include a code to unlock that character digitally. With three waves of minifigures coming out with a a short break in between waves, this pushes Series 12 back until next fall. We’re looking forward to getting all the minifigures coming out next year. If Series 12 is indeed coming out next October, it’ll be the first time that LEGO will have four different waves of Collectible Minifigures coming out in a single year. What do you think of potentially having four waves of minifigures coming out in 2014? Source: The Brick Fan Edited December 22, 2013 by JeagerEX Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Series 12 is probably the MMO series. Nothing to worry about. -Sci Quote
just2good Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 With another unannounced series following that before we get Series 12 of CMFs in October 2014. So are we getting four CMF series in 2014? Also, it's interesting to see that Europe will have The Simpsons/Movie series priced higher than the normal price. Quote
ManInATopHat Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Just fantastic. Lego once again ruining it's products for marketing and cash. Oh yay. Quote

Also, it's interesting to see that Europe will have The Simpsons/Movie series priced higher than the normal price. One Thing I've noticed from Shopping for legos in the us and Europe is that any Set with a license costs significantly more in Europe. I would guess thats why they are more (Assuming they are--this is the first I've heard of it) Quote

Also, it's interesting to see that Europe will have The Simpsons/Movie series priced higher than the normal price. At first I thought they were referring to Series 12 as the MMO Series, but I guess not and the MMO will be another subtheme. The game is scheduled for the 2nd half of 2014 (2nd half starts June 1), so I am guessing that Series will be in July or August. Just fantastic. Lego once again ruining it's products for marketing and cash. Oh yay. I fail to see how they are ruining the product by creating subthemes. If anything this is great news as S12 will make up for the Simpsons Series. Quote
TrumpetKing Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I could rationalize the MMO series being Series 12, and it would make sense since they can be unlocked later in the game. But I have a hard time seeing why they'd do the MMO AND Series 12 if they're different, at the same time. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 So, even though it is not called Series 12, the Movie line is series 12. The movie and MMO lines are replacing CMF series then. bummer. Quote

MKJoshA Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 I fail to see how they are ruining the product by creating subthemes. If anything this is great news as S12 will make up for the Simpsons Series. I completely agree! The more variety in minifigures the more options there are. While I'm not a big fan of the Simpsons minifig line, I don't think it ruins it. And if they at least came out with a series 12 next year it would totally make up for the non-generic minifig collectible series. At least the Lego movie line and MMO line will be usable in any Lego context. The Simpsons will be a lot more limited in their part usage. Though, we will probably end up with many more city torsos. Dorayaki Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 It sounds very reasonable if we're allowing special themes without lacking of new things: more series in a year. It's still nice to see original series not discontinued, and we're going to have more CMF. Though I don't want to see multiple series coming together. Or the reason could be that TLC already had Simpsons in their schedule, but they didn't plan to make CMF Simpsons after series 12. CMF Simpsons would be teasers to the regular sets just like the CMF Lego Movie. But I have a hard time seeing why they'd do the MMO AND Series 12 if they're different, at the same time. I don't get it. If LEGO Minifigures Online meant to feature normal CMF, what's the difference between normal CMFs and the MMORPG characters? And what minifigures do you want to see in "CMF MMORPG"? Unless there are going to be original RPG cast as same as the previous Lego Universe NPCs in MMORPG, and the next series would feature those characters. It's nice to see such kind of characters become physical as CMF choices. And we've seen that some CMFs from the Lego Movie series are actually more like normal CMFs than specific movie characters. Ojik Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Also, it's interesting to see that Europe will have The Simpsons/Movie series priced higher than the normal price. How do you know? Yes, I'm sure it will be more expensive due the license, but it seems you have read something I haven't. Quote

TrumpetKing Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 there's the movie line out now, they'll probably have the simpsons out by February or march, mmo in may, and series 12 in October. Going by schedule it's Movie Line- Now/January Simpsons- May MMORPG- September And then based on the original post, that would place the official series 12 in September as well. I don't get it. If LEGO Minifigures Online meant to feature normal CMF, what's the difference between normal CMFs and the MMORPG characters? And what minifigures do you want to see in "CMF MMORPG"? I don't quite understand what you mean. I'm saying there would be no difference between the CMF's and MMORPG character packs, seeing as they'd be new characters that you can unlock. There could be a justification for that reason that the MMORPG series could be Series 12, as it seems to feature unlockable minifigures, and unless it were a series full of villains or boss-type characters in the game, it seems like it would be a series of figures closer to what we've seen in a numbered series, more reason for me to be curious about Series 12. Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 if they'd do series 12 AND the MMORPG at the same time, that would be a bad move. That would have two lines running at the same time. Even if the MMORPG is meant to run longer for people to get codes(not saying it is, just hypothically speaking) it'd really need to be launched in it's own time frame so it won't start off its run fighting for attention with series 12. people who want to complete all figures from each wave would be in a jam. Who really knows how long either wave will be out and some people have a limited budget so that'd be a major issue for them. Quote

That's what's so odd. I think they'll do a slightly more limited release (available where the game is) for the MMORPG figures in July (like Team GB release date) and then a wide release for the Series 12 figures in October. SweetiePie88 Posted December 23, 2013 Posted December 23, 2013 Probably but there are people that would still want to import them. Quote
1980-Something-Space-Guy Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Wait, I just want to make sure I understand this correctly (I haven't been following the news recently). Is it confirmed that there will be a Series 12? I was left wanting some minifigs and I would be sad to see the numbered series go... Quote

I mean what kind of minifigures the assumed CMF MMORPG series would have exactly. More mascot suit people, warriors, aliens and original ideas like previous normal series? Or the exclusive NPCs and villains who represent this game? If the result is the former, it's just another case like Panda Suit Guy (no offense). If it's about how MMORPG works, I don't really think TLC would make another CMF line with different format and sale period in order to promote this game. As long as TLC won't stop making CMFs, in the long run it's better to make the clicks follow the bricks. Edited December 24, 2013 by Dorayaki Quote
JeagerEX Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) Looks like the true CMF Series 12 is confirmed: http://static4.wikia...s/0/09/Doki.jpg So the LEGO Movie CMF is not S12 then the Simpsons Series is not S13. And also is not based on the MMO series. Maybe S12 will be have a special code on it. Edited January 21, 2014 by JeagerEX Quote

Blakstone Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 From Brick Fanatics: "Collectable minifigures news, Series 12 is due October 2014. Each comes with a code to unlock something. Simpsons will all be unique minifigs in the series and price points staying at £2.49" I am already ready for this series as I got what I needed from The LEGO Movie series and don't want any of The Simpsons.
