just2good Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Back in my day, CMFs were $1.99 a pop... Enjoy! From Toy Ark. Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 4 bucks a go? if that'll be the price, all I can say is "no more CMFs for me". if it's 3 bucks, I'd consider it since I want 1 for my numbered fig collection but at 4 bucks, I could get a lego friends animal pack for that price. Quote
DannyRww Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Wow!!! That extra buck is a bit of a turn off...this better be their best set yet...... Quote
TrumpetKing Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 What's with the grey box that says Series 11?! As for the extra dollar, as much as a bummer it is, it really won't affect how much I want to buy them. Quote
Mikuri Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Even in Canada it's about 3.50$ each. Now it'll be 4.50$? I hate how they sell Lego way over the currency exchange price. Take the green baseplate. In USD it's 4.99 and in CAD it's 7.99. The USD is like 9 to 11% more in currency. 5.49 / 5.99 should be the acurate price. I don't see myself paying more than CAD 4$ a random minifigure. -.- Quote
Dorayaki Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 No other series before series 12? A price increase looks like making it worse. Why not? Binding Series 12 to the game doesn't mean it will be bound forever. Suppose that you mean MMO won't stop before series 13, we don't know if game codes would be just a one-time strategy. I personally think it's not since TLC obviously want to draw on the CMF series in order to market and revive the online game. Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 as far as minifigures, we still have the simpsons and lego MMO figs coming. they just aren't numbered. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Sorry? I don't think your "intelligence" makes sense. Is anybody still thinking that my intelligence was senseless? :D Quote
TheLegoDr Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 So will that be the new price on all CMF series from here on out or just the two Licensed series? Buying all 16 at $3 was pricey enough (plus extras), but now add an extra $16 just to complete the set is a bit much. I may be done buying CMF too. I typically would buy a series for myself, then a handful of extras that I liked and a handful of extras for my daughter. Extras will have to be avoided now. Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 judging by the tag, it's showing the price tag for the cmf numbered sets. I haven't seen anything about the simpsons and MMO figs though. if anyone hears anything about that, please let us know And actually, now that i think about it, mom would probably abandon ship on the figures also. She mainly collects those really adorable Megabloks hello kitty waves(got 1 &3, no signs of 2 at this time) with my help but has also collected a few CMFs. i really doubt that she'd be willing to shell out 4 bucks for one lego figure Quote
Colossus Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 $4 for a CMF is just being greedy unless the one CMF's accessory is another entire CMF, that is. Quote
Robert8 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 They showed a yellow box in Nuremberg Toy Fair and here this silver box is labeled as Series 12's. So there is another CMF coming this year besides The Simpsons and Series 12??? Quote

The silver box is just a place holder (they must have used the same box for Series 11 at an earlier event). Unfortunately, it seems like Series 12, The Simpsons, and The LEGO Movie are the only series coming this year despite what Brick Fanatics claimed. Quote

Dorayaki Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) What's unfortunate about that? Movie, Simpsons, MMO/12. We get our yearly three series. So far MMO is not assumed to relate to series 12 if MMO represents another series. The real issue is that adding special series doesn't increase yearly productions, which could relatively decrease the amount of regular minifigures. Unless series 12 is "postponed" but series 13 would still make debut in December. I don't mind too much, but it would have been cool to get that rumored separate MMO series in July along with Series 12 in October like Brick Fanatics sort-of claimed. If there is the MMO series, it would had been declared in this toy fair along with Simpsons and series 12, so it looks like MMO series wouldn't be made. Or TLC added the tag just to declare that they won't disctontinue CMF series, while MMO series is still a secret. Edited February 19, 2014 by Dorayaki Quote
MrSinistar Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 That extra dollar is a big turn off for me. Buying all those TLM minifigs wasn't cheap. Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I have to state again, alas, that Series 12 will feature codes that will grant something inside the MMO game, this probably why it would cost more? Quote
SweetiePie88 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I have to state again, alas, that Series 12 will feature codes that will grant something inside the MMO game, this probably why it would cost more? that 's no reason to raise the price by an entire dollar for a code that one might not even use and turn off a lot of buyers. at 3 bucks a pop, they are already on the pricey side and 4 bucks is not going to help things Quote
Cult_Of_Skaro Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Welp, looks like The Simpsons are going to be the last series I collect all of. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 At $4 per figure, you can count me out as well. I could care less about a game code. If there are any minifigures of significant interest in the collectible series, then Bricklink will be the way to go. I see this price increase as a deterrent for many. First, they raise the online Pick-A-Brick to obscene levels, and now this. While this may not necessarily revive a Dark Age, it could reduce my spending significantly on Lego. Quote
Robert8 Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Could that yellow box be a placeholder like the silver box? I wouldn't like having two different series with the same color... There are so many colors Lego could use: violet, olive green, tan, purple, brown, pink, turquoise, etc... According to the minifigures game site, the release date of the game is summer 2014. Isn´t it wierd that the first series with codes will come out until october? Quote
just2good Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Could that yellow box be a placeholder like the silver box? I wouldn't like having two different series with the same color... Trust me, yellow is the color of this series. It's a dark yellow. The prelimary catalogs had it in many different forms. Quote
Suspsy Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I'd be okay with the price hike if it were a Marvel/DC/Star Wars series. As it stands.....I'll wait and see what the wave consists of. Quote
