Alfadas Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I don't know if this has been covered before somewhere else, but I have a question about round towers. I know how to make a round tower, just a bunch of 1x2 and 1x1 round pieces. Simple as that. But how wide should it be, I now have a prototype that has 10 of both per level. It now has a diameter of 11 studs, I don't know how to put a plate on it. Is there a round piece from about 12x12? Or what do you guys use? I am trying to get my MOCs more detailed, and I figured I could make a round tower. But I just can't make the top where the guards stand. Quote
synbiote Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 I built my tower as 12 studs wide, so i didn't run into the problem of having uneven studs.. you could also try to have a center 2x4 or something & work from there, having the top plate overlap the bricks a bit. Quote
Alfadas Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 Ok, thanks! I can try that! But then you have a square top, right? Quote
gedren_y Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Actually, if your tower is geometrically round, it should only be able to connect at one brick. I've made round towers in LDD (takes a long time) and all bricks off of the starting brick will not connect to any studs in plane with the starting brick. Lots of tiles would be required. This goes for anything sitting on top of the tower as well. The recent advent of the 1x1 round tile is a big boon to round tower makers. Quote
Alfadas Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 Of course, I didn't think of that. Well, I guess I have to try a lot. Quote
