Time for a little taste of Canada in the winter village market. The trees have been tapped and the sap is a-boil. Visit the maple syrup stand for a selection of delicious treats; perhaps a sample of maple sugar candy for the little ones or buy a bottle of syrup to take home...

a plate of hot pancakes and Canadian bacon doused in syrup might just hit the spot...

It's also nice to warm up by the fire and watch as the tree sap transforms into sweet syrup. (A light brick lights up the fire, as well as the small stove inside.)

Thanks for having a peek at my entry, comments and critiques are always welcome. Good luck to everyone entering, there's lots of great Winter Village Market MOCs so far, and I'm sure many more to come  .

(Edit: MOC has been modified so that it now follows the contest requirements)

(Edit2: I swapped the first and last images, 'cause I think the last one was a bit better for the voting thread - but I realize that I might be too late changing them - if that's the case, I'm cool with that)

I really like this as a MOC. I was just thinking today how different the type of stalls/games are in the US compaired to European winter markets. So its really nice to get a taste of a Canadian perspective!

Great work Emma! There are so many nice details and the use of ice cream for smoke is just great. I also like that you included some molded pine trees... with them, the whole scene fits more in the original winter sets, as we find them there also often. Good luck in the contest!

Absolutely excellent design! Am I right in thinking, however, that the brown tree branches go over the edges by more than the one stud allowed in the contest? I'm on my phone, so can't quite tell.

If so, you might want to modify it slightly so that it's eligible for the contest. Great idea though!

Great looking stall Emma. That old sailor really got the fire going and I love how the stall is angled on the baseplate. You made some nice CMF part combinations. Also the trampled snow is a great detail. Nothing stays white for long, so the earth tones showing through are a nice touch.

Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for the comments/feedback everyone :classic:.

Did the Canadian bacon come from Minecraft pig? :classic:

lol yep - I thought it weirdly appropriate.

Eeps! you're right, I'm usually so careful about conforming to the rules, I don't know how I missed that - I'll try to get it modified before the deadline. Thanks for pointing that out  .

Very good entry, and I think that syrup would be delicious  lucky minifigs! I really like the bare trees, they add a great effect to the MOC and the fire with the light brick is a great idea!

Good luck and happy building
