The Middleman Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Yeah, Wal-Mart doesn't stock nearly as much as they did before. TRU, though, has just about stayed the same.
Bricks0937 Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 My TRU has stayed the same but they are always late to stock up the new releases. For instance, when they put an ad out for the Tie Fighter and Y-wing rerelease, they didnt put it out on shelf for another month. i was so pissed, i just ordered it off amazon.com. >:(
xwingyoda Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Sometimes when I lived in North Carolina (and didn'y know about this great forum *satis* ), I saw the Mos Eisley Cantina in TRU before it was posted on S@H, so go figure!!!!
Darkkazmo Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Honestly, what is the purpose of this subject? Talking about how bad Megablocks will get you nowhere! I see these clone brick products as serious competitors, which is healthy on many levels. Just imagine buying one brand of cars, TVs, cheese, computers...Etc. That would stink, right? Plus everything would be utterly expensive and less innovative. The same goes for the construction Toy market.

ApophisV Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 cars, TVs, cheese, computers Eh... This is one of those "Which of those words does NOT fit?"-games, isn't it? :P :D But to write also something that is on topic: I just heard that Megabloks are finally comming to Germany the next time, for sure I'll have a try on a small set of them (*cough* Nano Line *cough*)

So would you like to see the whole world driving one brand of cars, or kids play with one brand of Toys? That would be awful, don't you think? Variety in general makes the market competitive thus making the products more innovative and less expensive (well most of the time)... The same applies on this kind of medium.
ApophisV Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 U spelled couch insted of cough :P :D Have you never been on your couch coughing and dreaming of tiny bricks? :P :D

The Middleman Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 I'm with Darkkazmo on this one. Competitors ensure progress.
Assassin Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Hey Guys, they might make you sick, and you might not like how they look, but as far as I'm concerned, if they encourage Lego to produce better models then I'm all for them. Actually, if you compare the models Megablocks are releasing now, to the ones they originally released (12+ years ago), the quality has improved considerably. It makes me wonder what they will be like in another 10 or 12 years.
xwingyoda Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Talking about how bad Megablocks will get you nowhere! Yes it does, we're having fun crtiticising crappy blocks :-D

snefroe Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 what irritates me about the other brands is that they basically stole someone else's idea. even though the quality might not be the same, sizes and shapes of the parts are more or less the same, and it seems to me that they never bothered very much on making sure that people can see the difference between their own stuff and the original... :(
jonfett Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 MEGABLOCKS ARE THE WORST they should not be allowed on this earth THEY MAKE ME SICK
