Legonardo Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Black spire supremacy! My final entry for the CCC, for the secret hideout category, a tower in the moruth swamps of nocturnus, accomodating spies of the black spire. also for GOH chI:B Originally this was going to have a dragon on it, but i ran out of time to learn myself in the art of making dragons. oh well, next time. enjoy! before anyone asks, no this isnt the slightest bit stable Quote
MKJoshA Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I was going to say I Gandolf's hair was my favorite NPU, but then I saw the pitchfork and the PoTC head and had to add them to the list. Amazing usage of sooo many different parts! Quote
Infernum Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Really great work LD! Not my fav from you, but still awesome! Love the vines and all the bley helmets! Quote
mrcp6d Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 The lime green is perfect here. My favorite parts are the swords in the walls and the tattered flag. I'll have to work the flag technique in to one of my MOCs in the future. Quote
HammerBro Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 My reaction to the first sentence - Amen, my brother! You've really started branching out with the curvature and it works astonishingly well. I agree with mrcp6d and MKJosh, that flag just makes it for me. Quote
Torgar Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Looks great LD! I like the walkway and the vines the most. I'm not sure I like the helmets, but the overall shape is really cool. Black Spire Supremacy! Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 The vines are great. It hurts my brain that it manages to stay together at all. Great NPU. Quote
Gunman Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 great MOC LD... once again crazy angles xd Quote
narbilu Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Briljant... what a nice project, love the angles on the build. You have to detail the build for me once Quote
Simon_S Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 The olive lime combo is great! I also like the angles in the wall and all the fancy stuff you put in there . Quote
Wedge09 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Amazing work  You should one day do a tutorial on how doing such inclinations and wall shapes Quote
Gideon Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Innovative building for sure like always, but I think you've outdone yourself this time...so many unusual parts used in those walls! You must have steady hands to manage putting a build like this together I don't think I've seen that flag technique before either, is there any closeup shot of that one? For the Black Spire!! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 The use of lime works perfectly here I also really like the pointy black roofs and the doorframe I've really enjoyed seeing your builds for the CCC (Your crow's nest build is one of my all time favorites now) and I think you are the top contender for MB Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Hi there Legonardo, I'm not much of a historic forum guy, but I must say I've been admiring your work for quite some time now. I wonder how it's all done. Could you maybe take an inside picture of this particular build? I wonder if it's all just carefully put atop or is it fixed in places somehow? Does this creation withstand transportation and so on ... Thanks and keep up the excellent work! Quote
Hobbythom Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 This is so awesome. It doesn't even look like a lego build (I mean that in a good way). You can keep looking at this and keep seeing new things over and over. I second Master of Puppets request above my post: let us lesser builders learn from your techniques! Quote
Niku Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Absolutely fantastic build, the roots and plants are great addition and blends so well with the construction that really resembles rock. Well done. Too bad your side is going to be defeated, we may just keep this construction as for spoilers of war. Quote
thrak76 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Very interesting angles on this structure. It's like a "hidden picture" game trying to identify all the bits used in there! Quote
Legonardo Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 thanks, the interior is made of mulitple 12-wide circles at different angles, then bricks go out 2 studs to creat the 16/17 wide tower, i'd take qa photo but its very messy and even i can hardly mkae out whats happening, and the supports for the roof and main spire cover alot of it Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 So if I understand correctly the build is solid and could be turned upside down without falling apart? Apart from losing the cherries and some minor stuff that obviously can't be connected in any way. Quote
Legonardo Posted January 3, 2014 Author Posted January 3, 2014 yes, correct, except the tower would probably fall off the base Quote
