NoEinstein Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 For the LowLUG Modular MOC Madness competition (Dutch forum, entries start at page 2) I created the following entry. The three lions The pub, called the three lions, can be found in the center of Modular City. The upper part of the three lions is a student flat which is accessible through its own entrance. The building has a clock gable en is built early 18th century. It has authentic details like stained glass on the ground floor, a family crest and lion heads. Nothing much to see on the back other than the trash and recycled glass cans, some weed and the back terrace on the top floor. The pub guests can hang their coat on the pegs under which a radiator is placed. At the bar one can order a drink or rent some darts. The dartboard hangs on the wall opposite of the toilet. Below the stairs to the student flat is the stock storage, cash register and tip jar. The inside of the student flat shows furniture mostly found at that well known Swedish furniture giant. It is small but provides most modern comforts. The bath room is also on this floor, it has a spacious shower that is separated from the toilet and washing area by a glass door. There is also room for a washing machine. The attic houses the bedroom, central heater and terrace. Recently the student living in the student flat graduated. She is celebrating this with family and friends at the pub. The three lions pub side by side with the 10128 Pet shop. C&C appreciated, thanks for watching. Quote
Werlu Ulcur Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Wow, that looks terrific! It blends perfectly with official modulars! Quote
TenorPenny Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Looks just terrific with figures inside. Quote
eurotrash Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Looks really good! And the interior is well done. Quote
NoEinstein Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 Wow, that looks terrific! It blends perfectly with official modulars! Thanks alot, sadly I do not have the Market Street I would love to see it next to that while being the same (Dutch) architecture. Looks just terrific with figures inside. Thanks, it was a lot of fun to add some action to the model. It also "shows" where the dartboard is about on the wall I tore out to take the picture. Looks really good! And the interior is well done. Thank you. The interior has some similarities with the Pet Shop set while I tried to use as much bricks as possible from this set to create my MOC. The kitchen as shown on the first floor and the bed + lamp in the attic are exactly the same as in that set. Quote
lightningtiger Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I love the interior 'NoEinstein', though the pub sign needs a little work....but it's okay. Nice how it fits perfectly in with your other modulars.......actually I do really like the beer taps...very clever indeed. Brick On 'NoEinstein' ! Quote
NoEinstein Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Thanks for the feedback lightningtiger, much appreciated. I agree that the sign is not perfect. This was the 3rd and weakest version I made, but it fit under the first floor windows, did not partly block the entrance to the pub and was not 2 studs deep as opposed to my other 2 versions. I might give it another go, although this is it for the contest. The hose nozzle works better as the tap part I planned for it, although I do think it is mostly the metallic gold that does add that copper look that most people think of with a beer tap. Quote
cja Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Great! I really like the top of the house! Quote
NoEinstein Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Thanks cja. I agree that from the outside the attic/top part is one of the strongest parts. Quote
Herky Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 another great modular building, really like your speakers and the detail you have, the back looks just like a few I have seen, um yeah...LOL. Would love to see this in the modular line built on my street, great job. Quote
NoEinstein Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Thanks for your post Herky. Yes the backside is bland, I tried to add a fold able fire escape ladder below the first floor window but this made it look terrible and I did not have the bricks lying around to build an "American" fire escape like shown below. Feel free to copy/use ideas from the photos for your own build. Quote
