PenPlays Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 In J2G's look at the catalogue, Solomon came in the infearno interception, and the guy in that set has gray hair. I thought it was weird too, because I don't think he's in his 60's ;) His hair could just be randomly colored, much like the rest of the Agents. I guess we'll have to see. Quote
Darren H Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 I guess it's personal taste. The reason why I love the villains so much this time around is because of the lack of unifying motif. Their designs are more unique and can be used for other things as well. When it came to team Inferno, the need for having their logo on the torso limited the use for me. I guess in the end I rather have the Legion of Doom as opposed to Gold Finger's Henchies. These two points here! I'm much more interested in this theme now. Before it was good organization vs. bad organization - it can only play out so long before it becomes boring or repetitive - and quite limiting. But when you have a collection of independent bad guys - every one of them is a threat. They can all hold their own. This makes the stakes higher, and our heroes that much more heroic for battling them. I'm sold on the theme because of this. With this in mind, I'll buy all of the sets. Last time around, I didn't - I felt I could skip some without missing the overall story / narrative. But this time around, I'll need to get them all to have the complete story. Quote

TNT apples Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 (edited) I loved the original Agents line, but I'm not really a big fan of these, the enemies vehicles look too messy. I like a few of the agent's vehicles and the suits they are wearing, it gives a James Bond sort of feel to the sets. I may pass on these... Edited February 16, 2014 by TNT apples Quote
PenPlays Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I'm just loving this theme. Having unique villains per set makes it all the more interesting. The colors are very fitting for each of the vehicles. Definitely one of the better themes this year! Quote
DraikNova Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 The Hurricane Heistcopter is a work of art. Even the mech form looks sleek rather than like a waste of parts as is the norm for this sort of thing. Someone took the 1x1 tr. red tube on the right blaster though . Nice use of the SW missiles too, so it's looking more and more appealing. On the other hand there is the Agents HQ. Nice and with some great details, but it isn't coherent and as a whole it just looks...messy, to say the least. The mech is kinda cute though, albeit a bit akward-looking. The other sets are just general "meh"-s. The little Agent buggy and the Tremor Tracks Tank are just uninteresting. The Toxic Meltdown is balancing on the buy/do not buy for me. Nice to see that there's one more villain in the set. Quote
Algernon Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Yup... won't be paying rent this summer Quote
Dorayaki Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) Nice to see a fairly good gender ratio as usual (or maybe it's just because that this series don't have an animation advertising targeting at boys ). New hair colors are interesting, but I hope that the agents can also have some distinctive use of colors and designs since weird colors are mostly for "bad guys". Faefrost Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I'm liking the sort of agents of shield vibe we are getting from the agents. Less Bond and more Coulson. These look like a must buy. Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 I think I am going to have to give this theme a miss this time around. I don't really think any of the sets stand out enough for me to get them. Quote
Tom Jurassic Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Loving this theme and the futuristic-type style Lego have decided to take it in. The Agents look out-matched in many sets, but I love the theme nonetheless. The Inferno Chase Set and the Hurricane Helicopter both have vehicles which morph from ground vehicles to hovering vehicles, very similar to Fury's car. This'll be a nice feature as I intend to utilize a couple of these sets as SHIELD Vehicles, particularly the lovely HQ Set and the Inferno Chase set. The one thing that frustrates me is the lack of variety in the Agents, as three of the agents are seen in two sets each, which is rather annoying as it limits the variety of Minifigs. Still, a trip to the Lego Store and a few Heads and Hairpieces purchased later should be able to fix this. Do you guys reckon we will see a second wave in the Winter lineup? Quote

Tom Jurassic Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Maybe not winter, but I really think they'll make another wave. I hope so. I could Picture a Villain hideout, A Lab Facility and other bits. Looking at it this way, the Agents in these sets seem very much on the defensive against a heavily armored foe, so what happens when they push back those foes? Offensive Agents are a must! Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I've found additional Toy Fair pictures here: http://www.cooltoyreview.com/2014-Toy-Fair/Toy-Fair-2014-LEGO/index.asp Some of the pictures take quite long to load though Quote

Dr.Cogg Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I think one of the big differences between these and the old Agents is , the New Agents sets seem to be more about the Villains , than the Agents. Because in old sets, it was: agents, saving other agents or breaking into a villains base or Chasing down a villain, but in the New Agents sets, its: Villains breaking into labs or HQs, Villains stealing money or Tech and the Villains all seem to be as crazy looking as Dr.Inferno. ShadowWolfHount Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Alright of what I think with the Riverside Raid It's a alright set, the vehicle is really good, like the new guns but I don't think they will work for a mainifigure and i think is good for other things, the color is good but it remind me way to much tron (what am i talking about the hole agents are tron). The minifigs are... well the villain is odd but i do like that the head is Trans-Green and the Agent is okay nothing big new but still okay. The Tremor Track Infiltration I just have to say Why, why did they put arms on a tank and why the villain look like he have trashcan armor. Anyway the tank is not good because of the arms, it would be awesome if it was a idk, A Real Tank plus this maybe just me but the set look like the was not finish yet. The minifigure well the agent remind me of something I'd see in Xcon (idk) and the villain just look like trashcan don't need to say anything else about him. The Infearno Interception okay i say this now, Utlra Agents Agents is Tron they color are tron like there Vehicle are Tron like, this is Tron. Anyway the vehicle is great (even if it look like something from TRON) and the Infearno well it's good, like the dark red Surfboard and the minifigure look like a mix of Human Torch and Silver Surfer (are they going to make a Fantastic Four set anytime soon). Jetrax99 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Shadow, the Tremor Track isn't a tank, IT'S A BATTERING RAM!!! That's why it has fists. Quote
Colossus Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) I'd love to start collecting this theme, but I'm not sure it's in the budget. With sets from The Lego Movie, Ninjago, Marvel Superheroes, finances will be tight. However, since there's no new Batman, er...DC Superhero sets, maybe there's some wiggle room. Pigbrick Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I'm just super amused by how much this figure reminds me of my friend! Quote

HomerJSimpson Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Then why in the world did that made the bottom part look like a Tank and have Tank Wheels. What, is tremor gonna CARRY a gigantic battering ram around to try and grab the ultra chip? And they're not tank wheels, they're tank treads. Quote
