JeagerEX Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) That Solomon Blaze from this theme is a same guy from Galaxy Squad? Like Dr. Brains from Power Miners who appeared in Atlantis. Edited February 2, 2014 by JeagerEX Quote
SMC Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 ^ really that might make me want to pick him up, which set is he in Quote
Zzz Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Could you describe the minifigures? The one in the Tron vehicle had a black suit and black neck tie, the suit jacket was open and the tie not really straight. I believe black hair. They all had the new shooting guns in white I believe, which looks amazing for the Agents (and not for SW). The villain in that set was amazing, he was mostly red with many flame thrower pieces and he was on a red surf board. The villain in the tank had 2 giant metal fists and kind of a metal helmet on, the agent had ( I believe) no suit jacket but just a white shirt and neck tie. The smallest set I don't remember but we have seen pictures of these already. And for the truck - it was simply too full of detail that I don't remember the minifigs. Plus - I was already falling back and the tour was really fast, and the next theme was SW... As others said, in the flying huge thing (which can sort of transform) is a white hazmaz guy plus an agent. And the color of that vehicle is amazing, but it's pretty huge in total. The boxes you might have all seen already, but they look amazing in person, really dark and cool. Quote
obsidianheart Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Frustrated that there's no picture of the character circle for this theme like there is for Chima and the Movie sets, but I'm pretty glad we got something. Still debating if I want to build them as-is, or in the Dark Blue/Silver/Bley scheme from Agents, though. Quote
SMC Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 after saying that I wont buy any I now want Solomon Blaze and white hazmat guy to be the leader of my hazmat team an some of the bad guys sound cool to I want more pics, Quote
Niloc Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I have just one word to describe a punching tank... Awesome. There's not much to say about the whole line right now, so I'll wait for clear pictures of each set, but the thing I can't wait for are functions! I want to see the small tank acting like a boxer (is it the case?), the rotating blades of the "tornado helicopter", the unfolding truck base... and I wonder if the small Tron-y vehicle has any main function (splitting, transformation, shooting?..) I missed the first mobile command center, which looked very nice, so the new one is very tempting. I love the trans-blue rims so much. I just don't know why, but they add a lot to the set. Also, the new small ball joints system taking the role of hinges like these http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=44301 to fold the truck panels is very interesting... Any idea what that yellow crane thingie near the scientist does? I can't figure it out. And I didn't see anyone mention it, but I spot a cute brick-build microscope Quote
just2good Posted February 3, 2014 Author Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) A better view at the HQ and Hurricane Heist sets... with some additional info! Edited February 3, 2014 by just2good Quote
Freddy Bricker Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Thanks for the video once again! Wow, not only do these look better than the prelims, but these look better than almost all other images we've seen of sets from other themes, so pumped up, wish we got a better view of Toxita though. Freddy Bricker Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 It would unfortunately appear that all of these villains look great, especially Terabyte, he himself seems to be among my most anticipated, along with Toxita, and Hurricane Heist appears to be a rather nice set as well, hope I don't procrastinate until 2015 to buy these, I am only now just ordering the Vampyre Castle this week as it is! Capt. Redblade Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Holy crap, that Hurricane Heist. Just... that Hurricane Heist. I didn't know the villain vehicle could turn into a mech, but I'm suddenly very excited that it does. Loving the hover-bike, too! "Baseplates? Where we're going, we don't need baseplates!" I've held a torch for Agents since it left us, and I'm really excited to see what else the new line promises! Quote
PenPlays Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Wow the sets show look fantastic! The truck is amaze, whereas the Hurricane Heist is phenomenal! Only one problem... where's Infearno. I know he isn't the Doc we've been looking for, but even in the background of that video he looked interesting. Edited February 4, 2014 by Penkid11 Quote
Mandate Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Eh, the sets look brilliant, but I can't get behind these. I seriously mean that, the HQ is brilliant but it's way too... "dark", I suppose. And the very fact that it is deliberately meant to unfold as a story device is rather... well, it's worse than slapping a big fat "A" on everything. The protagonists also... What's the deal with the white shirts? I mean, it REALLY detracts from the good guy's color scheme. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) I like Terabyte. He seems like a wonderfully incompetent villain. Stealing data is what sitting behind a computer for several hours, writing thousands of interpretations of the same virus concept and sending them off to different people is for, yet he goes and tries to just steal the computer itself. Also, the Hurricane Heist set is a goddamn mech. A mecha helicopter with propellors. 'Cause you need to fly in a hurricane, how completely and utterly obvious a mode of transportation. And when all the safes that contain the money start to fly in your direction, you need to run. Really, the easiest thing for the agents to do would be to just follow the stream of objects as he runs and to take over the end location while he's shopping or something. Overall, quite a nice pair of sets, and I love the villains' helmets; a nice and classy x-ray and magnifying monocle for Terabyte, and the more sensible choice of an oxygen mask for the Hurricane Heist villain (name?). Let's just call that villain "Psyclone" for now Quote
gedren_y Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Terabyte's helmet looked a little like a modified version of the Mola Ram helmet from Indiana Jones. The ball hinges on the truck look too large to be the new piece, but rather seem to be the more like the older ball hitch version. Yes, much of the logic behind these villains is ridiculous, but remember these are basically cartoons. I likely won't get the large HQ truck as I don't usually do modern(ish) vehicles, but I may pick up some of the figures and parts. Quote
Legoman123 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I really don't like the Hurricane Heist set at all. Quote
LEGOMAN132 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Lego sure makes it hard to stick to one theme. This was the year I was going to and though I have the old HQ i want this one as well I like this one a bit more too. The Hurricane set reminds me of the last Alpha team sets those two in one vehicles. Quote
badbob001 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I think the trailer of the old HQ truck is much better. But forget all that: I MUST HAVE that pink ponytail hair piece! Quote
Faefrost Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I think the trailer of the old HQ truck is much better. But forget all that: I MUST HAVE that pink ponytail hair piece! This trailer sort of reminds me of a hybrid between the old Agents HQ and the World Racers Dessert of Dessolation one. I think the new one opens up a little better. But I much prefer all of the hidden vehicle bays underneath the old. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) How exactly am I saying that I don't like the villains? I just named several reasons why I do like the villains. Edited February 5, 2014 by DraikNova Quote
legofreak86 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) I'm glad that the agents appear to be suited and booted rather than those body suits from the older waves. It gives them a bit more of a modern/James bond classic secret agent feel. Anyone else think the girl in the HQ set with the lab coat and the long ginger hair looks similar to agent Jemma Simmons in marvel's agents of shield. The sets are certainly giving off that sort of vibe. A hidden inspiration perhaps... Edited February 5, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
WARHEAD Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) Absolutely blown away by that hurricane mech. (rimshot.wav) But no seriously, I don't really buy many big system sets, but that thing is just, wow. Edited February 5, 2014 by WARHEAD Quote
bekindsorewind Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Hurricane Heist looks like something relatively new and interesting in terms of action themes, so no complaint there. Gives the theme its own "identity" in a way than being a rehash of the past theme. The small ball joints are an ingenious way for sturdy yet easy locks for the truck to open and close. Quote
