DraikNova Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 (edited) Eh, it's for kids, so I can see why they do it. I think you're underestimating children. At any rate, I'm ignoring that story in an attempt to preserve my sanity. I hope LEGO puts some more effort into the official story, though. Edited June 22, 2014 by DraikNova Quote
Brickity Posted June 22, 2014 Posted June 22, 2014 I built P.U.P to the best of my ability. The midsection never really got a good view in the app, so I improvised using the SPIII dog's structure. I knew it didn't have the launcher so I used a 1x1 Technic brick as an adapter for the two studs on the droid bodies. I think it turned out well, and now he's in the HQ, I love that!!! I'd buy it. Hunter1 Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) He just told me about it, but I can give you the gist of it. So, basically the monsters in Monster Fighters built a machine that was meant to blow up the sun with all the moonstones. However, they missed when they fired it, and ended up hitting/getting the attention of the planet that the bugs from Galaxy Squad lived on. The bugs then attacked Earth. Later on Earth, elemental villains were created by the moonstones, and the Ultra Agents were founded to fight them. Solomon Blaze, a member of Galaxy Squad was in charge of training Earth's new heroes. Hope that makes sense to everyone. This is... disappointing... Ultra Agents had the makings of a series with pretty good storyline, but now I don't know what to think about it... In my opinion, idea of villains created by the moonstones it's too childish. I know series like this one are dedicated to kids, but Legends of Chima, Ninjago or Hero Factory have good storylines which make sense. I agree with 8BrickMario - some of the villains have nothing to elements, for example: what are the elements of Terabyte or Toxikita? For me, combining these three themes has no sense. Solomon Blaze was nice allusion to Galaxy Squad and I think that combining UA and GS would be a good idea, but I can't say that about combining them all. -H.unter Edited June 23, 2014 by Hunter1 Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 To me it just sounds like they were trying a little to hard to string everything to gether. I'm hoping for a location set Nex wave, the inferno base was a something I always wanted but missed gettin Quote
Kalhiki Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 If that's official, I'm still disregarding it. I can connect MF with GS. And GS with UA. But I can't with MF and UA. I'm just going with the stories all being in continuity, but not all intertwined. Quote
DuckBricks Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) In the App, it shows they're all connected. Crystals are found in Infearno's board that not only state, "from an unknown source" but are also purple which is the prevalent color of the mystery man. With Toxikita, there are storm clouds that mask what would be her get away with the crystal. It states that they were planted, and yet again are purple. Yes, and if I believe so, Infearno's fires consisted of a mysterious purple molecule as well... That's actually kind of unsettling - I only played a bit of the app, and it was clear that Tremor actually had a career and an outside life besides being a villain. If he is just some monster/artificial human, well... Yeah, the poster in the mall (in the game) of that boxer hints that Tremor was the same man... Perhaps he was mutated by the MoonStones? I can now see why Infearno Interception is the best set in this wave. Feature-heavy, a great build and great minifigures! My only gripe is the ejector seat function. It just doens't work for me. I love the set as well, and surprisingly, the silver guns on the side do not fall off as easily as I thought! (Well, I already lost one, but...) The ejector seat seems to work ok for me, even with the windshield down... That's the Agent (your character) in the app. Their torsos are similar but not identical. Regarding the Mission HQ and Mobile Command Center: I feel like they're different takes on the same theme, and have some advantages and drawbacks over the others and share good points and problems, as well. The old truck had a very "We're the Agents" feel to it, and the new one has a more (but still flashy) covert look. The old one had much better developed split-off vehicles, but less attention to the workings of the truck. The new one has tossed-together vehicles and fewer of them, but includes some clever details and functions the other one didn't have. They both have a problem with wasted space for different reasons. The old Center spent a lot of effort creating these special hideaways for the vehicles and left less interior space or forgot the potential for expanding the space. The boat cargo bay under the truck was quite obvious and left the rest of the truck with obvious gaps between it and the ground, and they should have expanded the storage box for more things. The plane compartment was clever but left less interior space. The new one has greater interior space, but less occupied space, since the floor-wall has things on it that need clearance when it's folded up, leaving the main platform barer to accommodate the car and prison pod. The way they open contributes to it as well. Since in the old set, the stuff inside was limited to the inside of the truck, the roof/wall hinging up posed no problems, and allowed for a breakaway prison wall. The new one unfolding into two levels using the side and front and back walls may have a cooler transformation, but less practicality and fewer play features, relying on the unfolding to be the main one. They both tie their themes together, and the Agent teams' styles, so I wouldn't say one is better, and that they're both good and bad in different and similar ways. I totally agree. I own both, and was a tad disappointed with the lack of minifigures I could fit in the new truck while it was closed. I managed to secure a space for two of their jetpacks on top of the center control console, but only barely managed to squeeze the whole team in... Edited June 23, 2014 by legozebra Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I must admit... I entirely blew this theme off when I first saw its unveiling. But HOLY CRAP INFEARNO IS THE COOLEST MINIFIG RELEASED IN YEARS!!!!! Great set too-- all those SuperHero collectors ought to just forget abut all the con & video game exclusive figs and just collect this theme instead for the villains alone! Hats off, Lego Quote
Fritzy Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 I built P.U.P to the best of my ability. Nicely done! Quote
Im a brickmaster. Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 What if the mysterious hooded figure is old Dr. Inferno? It would be cool if he masterminded all the defirernt crimes the villains performed... Quote
DraikNova Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 (edited) If LEGO did that, it might as well be Ogel. Of the two, he's definitely the more sinister-looking villain. Edited June 23, 2014 by DraikNova Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 But it's highly unlikely. LEGO likes to move on, and references to classic themes are minimal. I think this new guy is an original villain. Quote
Pulp Detective Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Anyone who has gotten the Hurricane Heist I want to ask you if the set is worth it. Quote

I agree, but I still wish one villain would return like Ogel, Sam Sinister, Basil the Batlord, or any of those classic villains... Quote
8BrickMario Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Or do you mean Baron von Barron or Mr. Hates? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the classic villains again, but Dr. Inferno's probably the closest we'd get to having one. Quote
Agent Fusion Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Maybe it could be another Galaxy Squad member. Max Solarflare seems somewhat suspicious... Quote
Pigbrick Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Anyone who has gotten the Hurricane Heist I want to ask you if the set is worth it. I don't own it but I see it everyday. In my opinion it's probably one of my favourite models in the line up, but that's also coming from a guy who likes robots and Meta Gears Quote
Peasantseverywhere Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Just ordered the mission HQ , any opinions ???? Quote
Kalhiki Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Just ordered the mission HQ , any opinions ???? It's a great set. Fun build, good minifigs, and lots of features. Well worth it, if you ask me. Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 (edited) HH is a set that either you love it or you hate. I personally really like the set and the little hover cycle it comes with is a fun build and all the minifigs are pretty cool, but its up to you whether you want to buy it ,because its price is a little on the high side for what you get. P.S. one thing that looks kind of cool is swaping Psyclones head ,for Tremors head and Tremors head ,for Psyclones Edited June 25, 2014 by Dr.Cogg Quote
Endgame Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Further proof that Hurricane Heist is inspired by Metal Gear: Those reception/noise level bars in the bottom right sure look like the MGS1 codec... Which was used to communicate with people. Additionally, the number below it even has the same format as the codec does: ###.## . Additionally, the number showed it an actual codec frequency in the Metal Gear games: The Number is 140.15, which is Meryl's frequency in the MGS games. Can you tell I'm a Metal Gear Solid Fan? The designer is too, apparently. Quote
Kalhiki Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Wow. That's pretty neat. I love it when Lego includes things like that. Personally, I've never played any of the games, but I know a bit about them due to a friend of mine. Quote
Endgame Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Also, this may be purely coincidental, but: The Metal gear that Psyclone's craft looks like, Metal Gear Ray, was being used by a man named Solidus - who also piloted helicopters, had an eye with an eyepatch, and had mechanical tentacles coming out of his back. Quote
obsidianheart Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Does that codec bar on the sticker say "140.15"? Quote

Hideo Kojima (creator of the Metal Gear series) is a big LEGO fan and it's nice to see the small inclusion in one of the sets for him. We'll see if anyone will post this on his twitter. But yes, the graphic designer and model designer of the Hurricane Heist are fans of the games and placed it in as a small reference. And yes obsidianheart, it's like what Endgame said, it's 140.15 Meryl's codex number. Edited June 29, 2014 by Pigbrick Quote
