bacem Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 People have been claiming Hero Factory's death almost every year since it began, usually on the basis of "the sets are getting worse" or "the designs are getting lazier" or some other generic criticism leveled at any set ever by at least one person. We've never gotten any indication of its end from any official source, "vague" or not. Call them what you will, but one of them actually has evidence to support it. yes, it has actual evidence to support it. but even the information source himself said they recieve a vague answer, which state that there's a possibility that this information aren't 100% true. therefore many of us still want to cling on the hope that this info isn't really true. 3rdeye88 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 A company cancelling a toyline is nothing new and not that rare. Hasbro, Maisto, Mattel all do it, and often it is cancelling an entire wave of figures after they've been publicly revealed. Lego doesn't do it all too often, but I can't say i'm surprised that they did. There are most likely a wide slew of sets that have been created in prototype form but never made it to the public, it's just in this particular case the sets made it a step further. If anything i'm a bit surprised that the sets were as far along as they were, the parts did not appear to be prototype material, they were fully produced which means that there was already molds in existence for those parts. (Chest and head pieces that is, the one armor add-on is on Queen Beast so we will at least get that part.) True, maybe we'll see the more generic usable parts come out next year. But that would probably mean the heads which are specific to this year's story won't be utilized. I doubt Lego would release the sets next year after the story line has already unfolded, unless somehow it would still fit in with the early 2015 December release wave. *fingerscrossed* Quote
dviddy Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Yes. It did come directly from a LEGO employee, but they even admitted they "received a 'vague anser'". So even this is speculation as it's one employee's interpretation of what he heard. It's a rumor. The only reason the article is written vaguely is to protect the employee's identity and protect them from potential blowback. It comes from an official LEGO employee, whether you like the news or not, that is not a rumour. Quote

Aethersprite Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Wow. This is extremely disappointing news. I was already thinking of skipping most HF sets in favour of China ones, and now this. Hopefully Lego changes its mind. Quote

Agreed, meaning they themselves don't know. ru·mor [roo-mer] Show IPA noun 1. a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts: a rumor of war. 2. gossip; hearsay: Don't listen to rumor. 3. Archaic. a continuous, confused noise; clamor; din. verb (used with object) 4. to circulate, report, or assert by a rumor: It is rumored that the king is dead. So that's where we're at. "Some of us are going to continue being unreasonable because we don't like the news or the newssource because it wasn't on DA or something and are throwing a hissy fit". Yes, says I, because I asked Andrew about it. You can continue treating it as a rumour, but you are factually wrong. And the refusal to believe an official source and keep dragging the "it is JUST A RUMOUR" nonsense into everything muddies the conversation and doesn't allow for clarity. In a fandom that already lacks clarity and tends to believe that TLG is responsible from everything from distribution of sets at an individual store to which characters appear in a licensed set, when an official channel speaks, that should finally be the end of it, and we should all be glad to hear something concrete. It isn't vague, it came from a TLG employee, who passed it on to an official LEGO mouthpiece. The "it's not final and may change" line does not make it a rumour- it means TLG is hedging their bets in case they change their mind. It means that, as of now, they are officially cancelled. So that's where we're at. None of those definitions fit this news except through your distorting the facts. Quote

It comes from an official LEGO employee, whether you like the news or not, that is not a rumour. It is a rumor because it was the LEGO EMPLOYEE who said themselves they "RECEIVED A 'VAGUE ANSWER'"!!! That is what came from the LEGO EMPLOY. That says the EMPLOYEE doesn't know for sure wether they are cancelled or not. So for now, until we get something a bit more concrete, IT'S A RUMOR! I suggest you go read Black Six's post over on BZP. Maybe then it'll be more clear to you that all we are running on is most likely the speculation of just one employee, nothing official. wghost Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) [...] so shut up already [...] Having an opinion is one thing, being offensive without reason is another. Could you please refrain from the latter? On the general discussion: using capitals does not make arguments stronger. I for one am amused how much effort is being put to refuse the official info. Life is hard, I guess. Edited March 24, 2014 by wghost Quote
Bfahome Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 WE DON"T KNOW ANYTHING FOR SURE. … which is what the initial report says. It says the word from LEGO is that they're cancelled, but that it's far from a concrete 100% decision. We may in fact see them released, but everyone needs to be prepared for the possibility that they won't be. Quote
Rick Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 You were all told to stop arguing about what's a "rumour" or not, so - for the final time - get this thread back on topic or we'll be forced to take other actions. exxtrooper Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) What tribes would people like to see made into action figures in the future if the sub-series is still running? Edited March 24, 2014 by exxtrooper Quote
Aanchir Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 I think it would have been cool to see some spider and scorpion tribe characters as action figures. But those tribes are probably not likely to appear prominently in future story arcs. Check out the concepts on these two cards that showcase what those kinds of characters might have looked like. Shakar Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) Brown isn't really my thing, so I wouldn't have found a Spider interesting. A Scorpion, on the other hand.. But the best thing for me would have been the tr. bright green details. Imagine bones in that colour. Really hope the new sets are released in the end. Those tr. light blue bones were gorgeous. CabooseBM Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 (edited) I'd be happy with whatever tribes end up getting me new shell and bone colors, I'm not really picky which. Edited March 24, 2014 by CabooseBM Quote

RIGHT?! When I heard about Spiders, scorpions and bats being added to the mix I was like "Aw man those will make great UBs, then we can get Rogon, then maybe Bladvic and a beaver for the good tribe and there was wave 2 of the UBs I thought. Or maybe Shadowind. But no they went a whole different direction. I was actually kinda bummed cause a Rogon UB would be pretty sweet. Lego Y U screw this up? The "it may change" line means that who ever gave the information doesn't know for sure either. Just cause it came from someone within lego doesn't make it fact either. They could not now themselves to ya know. That's what I'm trying to get through to you. lego's a big corporation with many departments, and we've seen in the past that there can be communication issues internally. So yeah I don't take this as anything more than rumor and hearsay.ANd that for some reason pisses you off. Like, why do you care if I don't take it as gospel from some kind of TLG god(I'd probably still be an atheist anyways)? I'll take information as fact when A) there's a source, a name, someone placed to the information, and B when they can say "this is happening" its concrete, not "it might happen" Mights and maybes don't equate to much for me. Mesonak Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 SO YEAH HOW ABOUT THOSE FUTURE TRIBES I'm still holding out hope for Bears at some point, but considering their hilarious lack of presence in the show, I wouldn't be too hopeful. :/ Quote
Bob C Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 The weirdest part about this is that they actually showed it at Nuremberg; they didn't just announce it and cancel it, they actually made prototypes, packaging, and presumably began producing the sets. Quote

Timeline15 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 where have you seen it? I didn't even realise season 2 was airing in English yet. I don't think I'm able to get it on TV, have you been watching it online somewhere. I've had no luck finding season 2 episode, other that terrible quality tv rips in a foreign language. Quote
