I think DV wants to see these sets released just like we all do.. he's a MOCer afterall, the more pieces the better for him. He's just keeping a healthy amount of skepticism so to not feel disappointed in something happens (or does not)- and frankly, so am I.

That's understandable, however taking a piece of info from bzp which was clearly established as a rumor to be fact is complete nonsense and that is what irks me.

I don't think you know what rumour means. The fact remains that we have an official remark from a TLG rep saying they have been canceled, they have been left out of all retailer catalogs and were not at Toyfair in NYC, and one from a designer saying that no 2014 sets have been canceled, which does not guarantee anything, considering the source frequently posts opposite of things that are true. The BZP source is legit, that is not a rumour. It was clearly established as fact, at that time, with a caveat. Just because the caveat may prove true does not make it a rumour. Front's comment doesn't confirm much, considering his history here and the fact that he is not on the team officially sanctioned to interact with fans online.

I know very well what a rumor is. I don't think you do though. Either that, or you're reading something completely different from the bzp article. How many times do people have to cite "not final and may change" and the fact that Black Six quoted the employee as saying he "recieved a vague answer" in order to realize it is highly implied the employee might be wrong? It's a rumor, NOT FACT. We're done now. If you wanna believe the sets are legitimately cancelled, fine. Don't go trying to convince those of us that know better than to take something at face value.

Well with all respect, regardless if it was a vague answer or not, when someone told the employee "the line was cancelled" that's vague but doesn't mean it was being confused as to if it actually happened or not. I think that's where people are misjudging it as a rumor; if the rep was told "oh the like is having complications" that is a vague answer that doesn't dictate whether or not a decision was made. For the rep to even be told that the line was cancelled- well, Lego is quite serious about what they do, naturally, and someone from a higher status doesn't just "screw up" by saying a line that was majorly publicly announced has been cancelled. Or at least, I would hope so.

But arguing about this is not going to solve anything, people can cut eachothers necks once an official statement has been made. Until then, everyone's opinion is just that.

Erland we do need to know where that news comes from, as right now there is some major confusion and the fact we haven't recieved an official response from Lego Reps is a bit concerning

I mean if you want to frame this as us trying to crush everyone's hopes then sure, go right ahead. The only reason we, or at least I, am continuing is because it seems like you're refusing to even accept the possibility that it might be true.

It's the same stance I take with the whole "bring back BIONICLE" thing. Do I actively want it to stay dead and never return? No, of course not. But I think people need to be prepared for the likelihood that it won't be revived. Ditto here. Some of the parts look interesting, but I acknowledge that there's a chance we may never get them, or at least not for a while.

Yes, there's a chance they might be cancelled, but there's also a chance they might not be.

We don't for sure which it is, so don't go flat out accepting things. That's the point I'm trying to get across.

In any case, info direct from a person authorized to represent the LEGO Group deserves a little more credence than your typical rumor. Generally "rumor" refers to speculation without ANY verifiable source, such as the "BIONICLE is returning next year!" rumors that have been floating around since 2010. This info HAD a well -known and verifiable source, so even if it is subject to change it is still more than a rumor.

I know that sometimes official LEGO reps have made mistakes, such as when we were told purple sets would be going away or that Ninjago was ending and being replaced with Legends of Chima. However, trusting these sources was frankly the best we could do under those circumstances until we got info to the contrary. Now, regarding this particular issue, we now have info to the contrary, but it is not any more verifiable than the previous info, so there's no reason to dismiss either possibility. The best thing to do now is wait cautiously and stop arguing over which possibility is more likely.

If you simply can't wait for clarification, why not contact a LEGO CEE team member like Jan Beyer or Kevin Hinkle yourself for an update instead of simply dismissing the info because you didn't get it directly from their mouths or fingertips?

Meh, I'm not sure if that perspective is anything different than what has been discussed as of late. I'm on-board with Aanchir's way of thinking. I think that, honestly, either side could have misinformation and its pointless to speculate too terribly much about who's right or who's wrong until the release window is reached and we know for sure. :P

Any comments in the video made about "BZP vs. EB" are made strictly in jest.

A friend from BIONIFIGS have found official pictures on Amazon, you can see them here (and in my brickshelf folder when public). They're available on pre-order, and according to amazon.fr, they'll be shipped on the 1^st of June. So... chances are high for the sets to be released.
