Posted January 1, 201411 yr [pid][/pid] 242A Happy New Year! Maybe you remember some of my earlier posts (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=86979 or http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=84523). I have been able to further extend on these topics: I can present a few decent pirate shops: And the monkey shop corresponds to my announcement to present more "monkey-driven designs": The young pirate actually looks scared - understanable when facing a gorilla - but I could not really capture this... The parrot shop promises to offer the famous "Norwegian Blue" (beautiful plumage) but they seem to have run out of stock... The harbour fortress is now on the left: And, of course, you can purchase some hats: I hope you like this MOC... .. because I will certainly build some more to extend the overall set. January 1, 201411 yr I love it, it's very silly. Also, "The plumage don't enter into it, my man! It's bleedin' demised!"
January 2, 201411 yr I like your MOC very much. From witch set are the lettered bricks? (Steine mit den Buchstaben drauf^^) The bridge is cool, too!
January 2, 201411 yr Author Hi, @Captain Redblade: The grey/gray parrot is, of course, resting. The blue one on the roof is pining for the fjords. @Jodawill: This is surprisingly simple. You take a 4x1 plate and it just fits underneath an arch. Then you take many of them and fill up the space. You may want to be inspired by Megan Rothrock's books. @Matthias130182: The lettered bricks mit den Buchstaben drauf: That was a kind of rare set we found in the lego store last year. It was meant to build a name tag / Namensschild oder so. Anyway: The more you are into lego letters the sooner lego makes them disappear from the stores...

January 3, 201411 yr Author Exactly. Except, that I put dark brown and reddish brown 2x1 tiles on it.... Which is what you cannot see on the pictures...
January 3, 201411 yr Nice and humorous build! The MOC has that certain Classic Pirates set feeling. Keep it up!
January 4, 201411 yr Awesome! Love the ape attendant in the monkey shop:-). Never knew there were that many types of coloured parrot - thought just yellow, grey and a red/green/white one.
January 4, 201411 yr Love the concept. It's a fun and not-very-serious take on pirates. But even pirates need a place to buy their birds and hats...
January 5, 201411 yr Author Brickshelf seems to be down ... I usually link to my pictures there. Question for the experts: What is the best way to include pictures into a post here? Using Brickshelf? Flickr? Something else?
January 6, 201411 yr I usually use both. I put my money shot on Flickr and other shots (building, details) on Brickshelf. I haven't seen flickr and brickshelf down at the same time. Flickr goes down less than brickshelf.
January 18, 201411 yr Author And now I am able to add the famous "Norwegian Blue" Its a must-have for every captain! @Matthias130182: The lettered bricks are still available. You can get them as part of something called "business card holder".
January 22, 201411 yr The blue one on the roof is pining for the fjords. Pining for the fjords? What kind of talk is that?
January 25, 201411 yr Be careful! You forgot to nail the Norwegian Blue to the twig! So it may woooosh away yet... If it weren't pushing up the daisies. Where did you get the blue parrots from, anyway?
January 26, 201411 yr Author Hi "Loves Houses"! I did not really "get" the blue parrots. We have taken some of the old grey parrots/birds (part of the old Egypt adventure sets) and we have painted them.
February 1, 201411 yr Wow, I should really start putting more attention to the pirates forums, this moc is great! I love all the detail and all the small shops, Keep up the Good work!
