January 19, 201411 yr Author zblj, why do not use a servo and electrical switches to power the motors of this beast? you would not need so much receivers. I would still need that many battery boxes (1 per 2 motors) so there wouldnt be any real advantage.
January 19, 201411 yr The real advantage is better connectivity. On my big G it was a problem when one receiver had contact, and the other one not. Then i had an not wanted skid steer and the half power.o
January 19, 201411 yr Efferman. you also dont have the ability to skid steer. or you have to use switches and servo for every side . But then the connectivity problem comes back.
January 20, 201411 yr Author Whats DDL zblj? LDD? Lego digital designer - a program made by lego to make virtual models.
January 20, 201411 yr According to Philo 2 XLs draw more current than either a single v2 RX or battery box can supply. Even one XL is capable of drawing more current than a single RX can supply. Switching to relays and bypassing the current limiter in the battery box may allow a change from 3:1 gearing to 1.6667:1. That would be an even scarier monstrosity. v/r Andy

January 21, 201411 yr Now i feel good about not owning a car or i might be tempted to build a lego vehicle and try to tow it. I really liked that truck. Very impressive.
February 3, 201411 yr Author Guys here's a version with normal wheels. Because the normal wheels are lighter and less sticky than the green ones the gear ratio is changed from 1:3 to 1:1,67, meaning more speed, but less traction: The LXF FILE: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Trial/Byte/fox_8x8x8-normal_wheels.lxf Edited February 3, 201411 yr by Zblj
February 3, 201411 yr Just a quick POV render of the model in white (panels are widely available these days) and LBG with unimog tyres.
February 5, 201411 yr I like the new version with the Unimog tyres. Awesome construction! And many thanks for sharing the instructions. Another must-build! But before I have to buy parts again.... Greetings Alex
February 5, 201411 yr I'm hoping to find some "8675" wheels and other parts so I can built it soon. I have built zblj's Titan with some cosmetic changes, just changed black beams by lime-green beams, I want some length 9 beams in lime-green but they were never made.
March 30, 201410 yr RC monstertrucks at around 4-5 kg (9-11 lbs) has been known to pull cars, im sure my 5 kg tamiya txt-1 would done it... but i havent test it yet! however, this build is absolutely awesome my grave digger is only 2 kg
May 8, 201410 yr Author Sorry for the slight bump, but here's a dirty video of the FOX pulling pretty much my entire MOC collection (3 of those models have blocked wheels): Edited May 8, 201410 yr by Zblj
May 9, 201410 yr I started building this monster last night, can't complete it jet because I'm missing some parts but I have ordered them. Because I still have only 5 of those huge green wheels I'm building this one with the unimog wheels.

May 16, 201410 yr Since yesterday I have 8 powerpuller wheels, so I will try to fit those, I think they will look even better than the unimog wheels, still waiting for the other parts.
May 22, 201410 yr I'm still not finished building, but I have all the parts now. I'm finished with the top section with the cabin, because I don't have black panels 5x11 I changed the color from black to grey with orange. one set of 2 axles is finished and I had to try it with power puller wheels and steering works OK, when fully steered to left or right the wheels don't touch each other or the frame. Continue building tomorrow, my pregnant wife wants some attention as well.
