bricky300 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) Wow that thing is huge!!! Don't wan't to be the obstacle it will run down while passing it. Edit: What would it look like with the tires from 9398? Could you post a picture please? Edited January 3, 2014 by bricky300 Quote
weavil Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 That is huge, expensive, and holy crap the batteries!!! But looks amazing!!! Quote
Doc_Brown Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Here you go Doc: Thanks man! Looks very strong. I have to ask, what is the advantage of making your own hubs opposed using the portal ones? Quote
Junpei Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 Awesome, expensive, huge, ambitious project, zblj! Doc, the custom portal hubs give the vehicle a smaller turning radius. The Unimog portal hubs have to accommodate the 1 stud of space that the dark grey hubs take up. Quote

vmln8r Posted January 4, 2014 Posted January 4, 2014 I love that building style you've got going. Colourscheme and bodywork are looking pretty slick too. Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 (edited) Plus the grey unimog hubs arent suitable for these wheels, because the attachment points are totally different. Thanks guys! Edited January 4, 2014 by Zblj Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Guys, here's the finished beauty: Also some quick videos of it driving up the bed, skid steering and driveline test: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Trial/Byte/file0060.mov http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Trial/Byte/file0061.mov http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Trial/Byte/file0063.mov Edited January 9, 2014 by Zblj Quote
Krize Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Whoa! It climbs that "hill" like there is nothing easier than that. What's the slope? 100%? Sure, it has 8 XLs and a lot of weight, but the performance is absolutely great! Hoping for more performance videos including a tug war with 9398 or similar. This is truly a monster! Quote
Gee Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 That ain't no monster, it's a BEHEMOTH! Lookin' forward to some more videos of it's capabilities. Awesome stuff. Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) Krize, there is no tug of war when it comes to 9398 or heavier 41999...its just an epic win....Its some 2-3x heavier with far more grippy wheels and also faster! You will see what i will pull....And this time record better it so noone will call me fake :) Edited January 9, 2014 by Zblj Quote
Hrafn Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Very nice! Are you going to take it outside? I'd love to see what it can do on uneven dirt and rocks. Quote
Kronos Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Awesome! That skid steering was a surprise....nice touch. Quote
AndroTech Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) ... .and this time I record it better so noone will call me fake :) So, you will pull the car ..... can't wait ...... I believed you the first time ..... this will be an epic pull !!! Edited January 9, 2014 by Povratnik Quote
vliet Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I have to find some extra parts to built that monster, I've got 5 of those wheels already. I'm starting to build Sariel's Titan today or tomorrow to "warm up". Pawel; why is your "trial" part on your brickshelf page not available?? Quote
skriblez Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 This thing is a beast! Looking forward to more videos :) Quote
Cwetqo Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 If anyone is interested: I have one (1) new green wheel for sale. Once i bought bulk 8675 parts and I got five wheels. Quote
KirTech LAB Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Incredible power!!! It seems this monster can move with 1:1 ratio - maybe you've tryed this? And these wheels are awesome! Super Truck!!! Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I did not have high expectations at the beginning Zblj, but I have to admit that you have built a wonder of technology: absolutely powerful! The videos show all the badness of this beast! :wub_drool: Quote
jorgeopesi Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 For me the challenge is to achieve maximum performance using the fewer motors I can but occasionally you have to admire these beasts . Quote
Zerobricks Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 The finished FOX: So...what to add...Its just..crazy.... The power, the traction, the control you have is...addicting. Its faster than 9398, more maneuverable, much more stable...Its the best 8x8 I have ever built and IT KICKS megablocks. As usual I am GIVING AWAY FREE the LDD file. Some pointers, the wheels are replacement parts. The finished truck has quite a flexible chassis, but in this particular case that aint a bad thing, because there are no drivelines to bend. www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Trial/Byte/fox_8x8x8.lxf And the allmighty video: Quote
