Does anyone know of a third party who makes license plate stickers for mini-figure scale cars? Some official sets come with one or even two, but I'd really like to have decent looking stickers I could put on a 1x2 tile for my MOC vehicles or for official vehicles that don't come with the appropriate stickers.

Well, I would be able to help you, but it is quite busy at the moment with my normal job, I guess that making license plates is not that much work. We even have sold a standard set with Dutch / German / Belgian / Danish plates in the past (we might still have some).

I would just suggest print a design out on a small sticky label, then just cut it out, and BAM you have a license plate. I don't know a more professional way, but my suggestion could save you money.

Well, you could try to get people pre-order a stickersheet with lots of licenseplates, cut out by the customers themselves to keep the costs to a minimum. (maybe even let them suggest some. different states. countries. periods in time. particular movie-related plates... etc.) Vinyl sticker-printing isn't that expensive nowadays and I'm almost certain it will be a safe investment going with the town-scale. :classic:

Play with this

Open a powerpoint sheet and paste the image, crop it to give out the margins and print it - scale it until it fits on a 2x1 plate. When you have the scales, replicate these ones or keep the license plate border and edit the licence plate numbers.

Once you have it, print it on a white sheet of paper and stick them with stick glue or look for adhesive sheets.

I think I saw a sheet of license plate stickers for sale once somewhere, but I have no idea if it was on ebay, or a specialty website or what.

Those plates on the pic El Garfio posted are pretty much exactly what I am looking for.

Cutting is not a problem with the proper equipment, but there is an other problem: a lot of people have a lot of (different wishes) and time is always an issue of course.

True. But I'm guessing just a postcardsize sheet of different licenseplates is do-able... And affordable. Just go for what we think is very popular: a few tv-show plates and some regular. But not too realistic. I think plates in Lego-realism wit just a hint to real plates will do just fine, like the made-up octan fuel logo. With all the cars being build in townscale there could be a (non-profitable) market.

Are you talking about the design, or are you capable to produce just one sheet of stickers?

I think it's cool either way.

I use the Exo-Force code tiles - they're readily available, not particularly expensive, and all unique.

They also exist in lime, orange - and yellow, which I use for trucks.

The downside is that because they're all unique, you can only have one plate on each car. I prefer putting them on the rear end. In the relatively rare instances when there isn't room to fit a 1x2 tile, I use one of those City stickers.

I have promised Luke to make some for him and will afterwards share the sheet.

Which, as I said in the private messages, is service way above and beyond the call of duty! Thank you so much!

I had never even heard of these. Neat!
