I just wondered; the marking colors of the Blacktron faction are infact the same as the Classic Space "Federation" vessel LL928, only with triangles instead of stripes. Who knows, Blacktron might just be the (para)military arm of said Federation, and trying to inspect civilian vessels and installations...

That said, nice solution for a tile-based Blacktron marking.

I love the designs here. I don't think the balcony idea is bad, but I feel like maybe if you used a guide rail instead of a wall on the near side of the balcony it might feel more hangar-like. If you took a slight overhead shot of the balcony and maybe had a bit more of an angle looking down on it it may look nicer; from this perspective it's hard to tell how big that balcony is, and that might be throwing you off

I see what you're saying about the balcony  - the projects that I've experimented with since then had railings made out of bars. I don't remember if I could do an overhead shot with that one - I may have been hiding plates up there instead of tiles.

I recently started fiddling with monorails. I figured that there should be a way to make one from standard widely available parts (and indeed, I found several people have done so). But I couldn't get it out of my head. This is where I'm at:

I'm working with some placeholder parts because there are several new-to-me pieces I'd need to get it all to work. The left bogie is driven through the pivot axle, while the middle one is a dumb bogie with no drive. The last one is just a different bogie frame so I can check the clearance of the pivot; I don't have the right connector at the moment to put a pivot on the bogie with the runners.

I revised the bogie design to use only pieces that are currently in production. I think I might have to go all out and build a working example and track. This is the bottom of the bogie.
