January 13, 201411 yr Great to see that you have decided to start working again whit that previous vessel by demolishing it and starting from the clean table. Curious to see the next stage of it, as you seem to use this tutorial for your help. Have you been thinking what type of ship youre gonna make? I personally think that there is two choices: Barquentine/Brig or a Sloop. Captain Becker
January 14, 201411 yr The overall look is very nice, but since you've made a really nice progress from the older version, let me leave you some comment :) I would try to make a shorter bow cutwater; the two level weather deck is really nice (love it) but if you don't want to place a door to enter the stern, it could be a good idea to "hide" the wall a couple studs backwards under the higher deck. The stern right now looks a little "squared", but there are some clever ideas to work on. You may create the slanted illusion with a couple wedge plate at the sides of the windows and make the upper deck protrude one mode stud to cover those wedges, this could be a very simple change with a great overall change in the look. These are obviously IMHO comments, the ship is already a beauty "as is" :) Edit: I think i have pretty much the same pieces (maybe.. or in wrong color) if you don't mind I could try to post what I mean, but i can opnly do that as a WIP or a MOC on mocpages.. January 14, 201411 yr Hi there, I, too, think she's coming together quite nicely! I'm especially fond of her dark grey/bley and yellow color-scheme, and the old two-color prefabs work out really well. However, there's always room for improvement. I agree with what Matteo1130 said and, since you're reworking the stern, I'd like to add the idea of lengthening her even more. So, if you have, add another midsection, or expand the stern further backwards over the rudder, maybe using some wedge plates. That could give her an even sleeker appearance. For smaller ships Sebeus I.'s work can always offer some great inspiration. Apart from that, have you thought about using these hinges to create a tumblehome? Hope this may help a little, love to see her finished. Regards

January 21, 201411 yr I like the overall look! Since you've made some real progress, let me leave some other criticism (hope not to offend you). The stern is really better now ; the "top" would be adding another couple inverted slopes at sides of the windows.. or maybe with a bracket each side you may have 1 or 2 studs protruding for placing some wedge plates vertically. This way the windows will look "framed" in a slanted surface. The bow is well done, but in a ship that size a brickbuilt headrail may look ver big. About the rigging there's something to change (to me). The spanker is too tall, the higher rod could be placed on a lower ring and both the rods (in Italian "gaffa" and "boma", I don't know the english correct name) are a bit too long... My critics are IMHO of corse.. in case you want to improve them it could be a good idea to ask "confirm" to some skilled shipbuilder on this forum :) Edited January 21, 201411 yr by Matteo1130
