"Hm. Beyond your ethereal powers, do you have any idea what the original lantern looked like, Drucilla?

Maybe I'm thinking it looks too much like a conventional lantern...

"Like an intricate lantern, that's all I remember. Sorry, my mind is a bit rattled right now. I cannot picture exactly what it looked like in my mind, but if I used some ether, I might be able to focus better."

Sorrow's second attempt doesn't work, either.

OOC: Oh no, you are not making us go all the way around the school just to find the Arts and Crafts teacher, which is probably an Artisan, just to fix this. And by the way, I can't find the pieces to do this and I don't have LDD so I'll just say what I think is wrong in Endgame's first attempt, is that okay?

Heckz tries to make the lantern very similar to Sorrow's latest attempt except that one of the studs in the bottom is attached to the opposite side of the diamond.

"No, no... Why would those two dishes go on top of each other?" Erik mumbles, looking at the pieces.

So I couldn't find my one spider piece, but if you could imagine that yellow dish is a spider, and there is another one on the opposite side.

Does it matter exactly which direction the pieces are facing, or just as long as they're stuck to the right studs?

"...I'm sorry if I spooked you at all while I was inbetween consciousness, Karie. I wasn't thinking straight."

She turns to Nuitan, looking inquisitive.

"So, your the son of my adoptive father's employer? I don't expect you to know him. He's just receives contracts from your father's company and ships his wares to and fro. Anyway, do you know your friend's schedule? What class did he have before everything went to hell?"

"Rather unconventional for a lantern, isn't it, Erik?"

[Myrddyn]

"The blue cone on top? Or the dish on the bottom? The dish is to focus the light in one direction. I'm not really sure about the cone, though. It was just left over at the end."

[Sandy]

None of the heroes' attempts lead into a working result. Maybe some hints are in order...?

"T-there's countless of people like that working for my f-f-father, Miss. What comes to Ly, he was in the same c-cl-class as me, but h-he didn't get c-c-caught in the f-fire. He t-tried to help us, but then he s-s-said he would go get help from the Faculty Office. He n-n-never came b-back."

Erik pokes the pile of lantern parts dubiously.

"So many ways it could go together, and no way of knowing if we've even got some of the parts right. Just one part in the wrong place, and it won't work at all. I think we'll need a hint."

[Endgame]

"I was hoping to avoid this... Drucilla, three hints, please. After that, please use one of my ether cores."

"Before we go there, let me give it a try. How about this?"

Since Thalion's attempt is unsuccessful, the party decides that Drucilla should use 30 ether to get an inkling what the lantern is supposed to look like.

"Hmm, let me focus... Ah, I remember now that there was something attached to each side of the cube... Yes, and no two similar pieces touched each other... I also recall that the forked bar was a handle that a person could hold on to. That's it, I'm afraid."

[Endgame]

"Similar doesn't mean exact, does it?"

"Similar doesn't mean exact, does it?"

"I meant same or similar pieces."

Thalion doesn't get it right this time either.

[Endgame]

"I think another hint may be in order..."

"Before we spend more Ether on hints, lets try a few more combinations. Professor, how's this?"

"Krasch, do you remember how the lantern was before you broke it?

If Thalion's attempt doesn't work, Drucilla uses two more hints.

"And Drucilla, do you have any idea which of our attempts has been closest to the original?"

It doesn't use "illegal" joins, does it?

Heckz wasn't really good at building ancient magic lanterns so he approached Sorsha to talk to her.

"So Sorsha, can you tell me more about Mount Ulysses and the "Sheep Tribe"? And your Tribe must be really rich for you to be in this Academy, huh?"

It doesn't use "illegal" joins, does it?

"It is, but since it is not the correct combination it does not matter."

OOC: LDD itself does not allow pieces to be connected "illegally". At least to me, I might add; but then again, I am not very proficient with it...
