-obelix- Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) "Running away is the worst possible idea at this time Sorrow. You made a mistake, sure, but we must do what we can correct it - to try and save the professor Pleaides and vanquish this demon. We just need a couple of Nostrums and we should be done in no time! With the unfortunate knocking out of the professor Pleaides, we have a chance now to hurt this monster without the fear of magic bursts." "Perhaps, but Drucilla has suggested Polaris may still be alive. Also, I'm not sure leaving it behind us is a good idea, especially if we're going to teleport it into the centre of Eubric." Thalion nods, "You are absolutely right Erik! Not only can the professor potentially be saved, but leaving behind a demon on the run is too dangerous. We must stop this thing, now!" Thalion puts on Duplovian Helmet of the Guard from the back row. Edited April 22, 2014 by -obelix- Quote
Endgame Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 "Heckz, finger pointing will help no one!" Doesn't help that he's 100% correct in saying that, but... "There is nothing meaningful we can do - we have no choice. No element we can use, no status we can inflict, and likely nothing we can do to resurrect Pleaides until the demon is down. With more people attacking we have even more of a chance of incurring its wrath - we may inadvertently slaughter the students, our only link back to Eubric, and ourselves. If the solar blast goes off, we need one person to attack the demon while we're all weak, or it'll send out its blast no matter what. In the case where we're all weak and we need to target the demon again, s single misstep and we're all dead. This battle is going to kill us all, Thalion. Especially now that we have more people piling on the demon, its all the more likely it'll unleash a solar blast and essentially end us. We NEED to run." Quote

There's no real way to go about it but pray and hope we don't die or run, so if anyone's got some grand idea, please let me know now!" "I agree that the situation looks dire, so some of you should flee with the students while the rest of us stay here and try to save Pleaides." "Drucilla, may I ask if you have gone to the Marketplace before? If you have, can you go there and buy a Phoenix Essence then come back here? I'll pay you back later, you have someone that is not me's word." "Excuse me?! We are in a battle here, how can you suggest I go shopping now? Endgame Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 "I'm still of the opinion that we should all flee... If we get hit by a special damage (considering our offesnive capabilities and the amount of health it has left, practically inevitable) we're all hurt and crippled. In that state we need to have someone target Aureoloe, or else it unleashes another wave by default and murders us all right then and there. If someone rolls damage and special damage in the same round, they are practically dead as well; we could play a game of stop and go, healing ourselves and stopping all of our actions every time someone is wounded, but at that point we'll move so slowly and would probably get ambushed by eventuality 1 anyway. Every turn of this battle is going to be a massive gamble from here on out, and one that will end us nigh instantly if our luck goes sour. Considering just how long this is going to take, I'm afraid getting nailed by 2 special damages in a row will be all but inevitable. We need to flee, now. All of us." Quote

Sandy Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 QM Note: Heckz doesn't actually have a Smoke Bomb, but Amorith does. Cutcobra, you owe legobodgers a Smoke Bomb, methinks. Results of Round Six of the Planetarium Battle: Amorith uses a Smoke Bomb - (Amorith, Heckz, Drucilla, Noel, Nuitan and the followers flee) Karie flees Thalion uses Magic Lamp >Sorrow vs. Aureole - Critical Lethal Hit/Damage (Aureole: 1732 health-(83x2=166 dmg)=1566 health) >Sorrow vs. Aureole - Lethal Aim/Damage (Aureole: 1566 health-(27x2=54 dmg)=1512 health) >Erik vs. Aureole - Shield/Meditate (Blood Ritual - Aureole: 1500 health-(0+0+0=0 dmg)=1512 health) Amorith breaks a Smoke Bomb into the ground, allowing most of the party to use the veiling smoke to escape from the battle and out of the room into the small corridor where they came in from. The remaining three heroes continued the desperate battle. Thalion took out the oil lamp he pilfered from the library, and gave it a good rub. True enough, a billow of pink smoke erupted from it, and in the next moment an exotic female djinn hovered in front of him. "Aaaah! Finally!!! What the hell took you so long?!" The djinness looks around. "Oh, literally hell, it seems. My bad. Now, here's the deal: I am Djinnifer, the oh-so-beautiful princess of genies, and if you fulfil my wishes, I might consider fulfilling yours. Isn't that sweet of me, eh? However, I work by a strict set of rules. Here's a list of wishes you can ask me - but remember, only after you've fulfilled one of my wishes." The djinn princess conjured up a list and shoved it to Thalion's face. LIST OF ACCEPTABLE WISHES:- To Turn Back Time: Return back in time to the situation before the battle with nothing lost or gained. - To Be Healthy: Fully heal all party members, removing negative effects and reviving all knocked out allies. - To Be Powerful: Give all party members the encouraged-, hastened- , lucky- and inspired- effects. - To Be Rich: Double the amount of gold and consumables in your inventory. - To Have Revenge: Instantly kill all enemies that are not immune to sudden death, and halve the health of those that are. - To Get Experience: All party members gain extra experience instantly. "Also, you can only choose each wish once. Got that? Oh, you must feel so lucky it was you who found me after all these centuries rotting away in the folds of that bookish demon. I only managed to escape because she was so busy gorging up those foolish mortals... Oops, I mean poor people. Now, what should I wish for...?"
