Does anyone know anything about any more viking sets they seemed to sell and good the fort was beter then most lego castels.

If some one is completly positive there not making more you can shut this down.

AFAIK we haven't any positive infos on new VIking sets yet. Considering TLC is bringing a completely new ancient theme (Skeletton Castle) I doubt we will see any.

My experiences at my toy store is that the Vikings are not selling well anymore, in winter we had like 50 to 100 copies of the 2006 sets and almost 2/3 of them aren't sold yet. With christmas inbetween! :-(

Good news is, that most of the toy stores are selling the longship for 30 Euro now, I think I'll get myself one or two more as soon as I have the money! ;-)

If I would find a toystore here in Belgium that sold the longboat for only 30 euro, I would finally buy one.

But I haven't seen it for that price yet.

i got mine at Xmas for 40 euro which is a great price here in Cyprus! it used to be like 70 euro..!

They were selling them all at 40% off at TRU in Canada, with the fort at 70% off. Usually that's a bad sign.

From conversations that I had a Brickfest, I understand that both Knights Kingdom 2 and the Viking line are being discontinued. This is because the new Castle line has elements of both.

at the tru by my house they sold quite well and they wern't 70% off I just don't know

why they would cancel them there good sets and lego has alot crapyer themes. :'-(

I gusee I like them more then some people since I have Norwigen relatives.

Well I like them also very much, and I bought most of them, but I'm afraid TLC is making fast new themes which are just for one or two years like Dino 2010, Avatar and, Alas, Vikings :'-(

Maybe they'll make a cameo appearance in one of the future Castle sets. :-P

I'm surprised they were not considered to be hot sellers. I've not seen any on clearance and the store shelves seemed to always be empty.

well it's kinda weird... it seems they sold very well in the first year but seriously fell back in the second year. it seems the viking line was a hype at first, but it faded pretty fast, so i'm guessing that a large majority of the viking fans bought their sets rather early, pushing the sales, but the fanbase was too small to assure a long term success... so sales declined in a BIG way...

I think it's possible we can see Vikings in some other incarnation in the future. If there is a new Castle them after "Castle 2007" then we might have Vikings or Viking-Like warriors as an enemy.

How come that the Longship prices are so low over Ebay? I may try to get one, since I never got it (in Europe it costed 64.99 Euro at full price-a real rip off compared to the 50$ >:-( ).

Heh, you can give viking helmets to the skellies from Skeleton Ship Attack and pretend that they're undead Vikings, bought back to life by Lego.

I liked the Viking sets, but I really didn't think they'd be real popular with the kids. Castle still offers much more fantasy play and is a more recognizable theme. I'm not surprised to see the theme fizzle out.

The problem was there were no real bad guys and the 2nd year was weak... why not add another ship and a rival clan? or heck a British castle to sack!

It is a shame, such cool sets... such lost potential... in my region of the USA we don't have them any more and they never needed to go on sale. Where my fiance lives, she has a lego store that barely kept them on the shelves either..... but i have heard that it is different all over the country let alone the world.... So it seems to be very hit or miss by locale. I thank all you folks across the pond for buying so many, this allowed us to actually get the sets!

i just want to note that dino attack had some solid sets... not what i am interested in, but in the right direction i bought a few for parts for my mecha...
