jodawill Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 I made a grandfather clock last night. I think it looks pretty good for a cheap, very basic clock from a time period where most people used them in their homes. I'm looking for ways to make it a little fancier. What do you guys think? I didn't find any on Google that I liked better. I've attached the LDD file. PS – I wasn't sure which forum to put this in since it's not related to any theme in particular. I hope this forum's ok for that. Grandfather Clock.lxf Quote
jodawill Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) nice job :) especially the pendulum! Thanks! That's the part that bothered me the most in the clocks I found online, so I'm glad I was able to get that right. Edit: Also, I saw a lot of people using minifigure legs. They look nice, but I'm not a fan of mutilating minifigures. Edited January 7, 2014 by jodawill Quote
Rufus Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Since you've included the .lxf, I think this thread can go into the LDD forum. Moving.... Quote

LEGO Historian Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 (edited) Nice work Jodawill... but when it comes to building fancy LEGO furniture... Eric Harshbarger, a LEGO acquaintance, is hard to top. This is one of his LEGO masterpieces is this Grandfather clock, standing next to him... So when you're building digital... think big!! I saw that when I did a Google Image search for "Lego grandfather clock." There's no way I could top that. I'm just trying to make a minifigure scale one though. I was going to put this clock in my western fort, but it was too tall for my walls. Quote
AmperZand Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 There's a Monster Fighters polybag from 2012 with a grandfather clock, set 30201-1: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?set=30201-1 Don't know if that helps. Quote
