LEGOMAN132 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I do feel like the minifigures could use some more outlines to help them look cartoony. Oh, and I "fixed" the eyes. Maybe the blind bags will have good eyes. ;p (made in 3 minutes and rushed) I do like these eyes a lot better. I hope all the other sets are not this good so I can save some money. Quote
bjorkan Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Lego wants ALL of my money this year :( I like both house and this comment and well, we only live once and I just skipped my breakfast :) m. Quote
Yooha Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) How many "property of Ned Flanders" stickers can you see? I could find only one on the wheelbarrow. And what is that orange-black-red-blue thing on Bart's bookshelf? Something specific? Edited January 9, 2014 by Yooha Quote
Redhead1982 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I like the house, both exterior and interior. The amount of details inside is amazing. The set seems like a good buy for parts alone, although the price is high (especially if you're not a Simpsons fan). I'd like to have the set, but it's not something I can't wait to find a good deal on. Anyways, the designers did a great job with this one. I wonder what the other Simpsons' sets will look like. timmyc1983 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Now if they did a Futurama Planet Express on the other hand... Wow, if they ever get the Futurama license I would just be beside myself!! But on topic, this looks like an amazing set and a must buy for me. As a Simpsons fan I cannot let this one go... Now I just need to figure out how to fit it into my town layout.... Quote
gazumpty Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Wow...this looks fantastic! Time to raise the funds! Now I really only need one kidney.... Quote
Laservampire Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 How many "property of Ned Flanders" stickers can you see? I could find only one on the wheelbarrow. The other is on the air-conditioner next to Lisa's room I believe. Quote
R23PO Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 For a brief second I thought that the green rod near the car was a flick fire missle before realizing that it was just Homer's radioactive rod... Well that's a heck of a way to end a first post. Quote
VBBN Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 The house looks really cool, packed with great detail and some great parts, though I am still bothered by those minifigures...Mainly the eye printings. The "eyelids" just look strange, and some of the expressions are very difficult to work with. Bart will always be looking to the side for example. I'm hoping that the Simpsons Minifig series will have some different heads that are more versatile Quote
BigDumbWookiee Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I am over the moon excited about this. The "I'm being sneaky" eyes are a little strange, but aside from that, I love everything about this. The details are amazing, the minifigs are great with superb sculpting of the heads albeit strange eyes, but everything else is perfecto. It makes me more excited about the minifig series as well (hopefully Lisa has a sax in that series). This set is just spot on, in my opinion, and a definite must-have. Quote
namioik Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 (edited) In the video, he specifically says: "We have molded sleeves and shorts in the minifig." He mentions both the sleeves and shorts in the same sentence, which would imply that both are molded. I can accept that the arms are two pieces but the shorts definitely look printed. In the end, I bet both are simply painted but with much better opaque paint. If you look at Bart's shorts, it seems like there is a new mold for the short legs. The top part where his legs end seems to be round shape to fit in with the torso piece.... Unless they been doing that for short legged mini figures that I am unaware of Edited January 9, 2014 by namioik Quote
just2good Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 The other is on the air-conditioner next to Lisa's room I believe. Yep, a nice reference to Lisa's Sax. Quote
SNIPE Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Ha that lego hoover is genious I'm getting this set DEFINETLEY Shame there's no attic/basement like on the TV show but ah never mind, it needs to be flat on the bottom Quote
The Executive Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 What confuses me with the mini figures are the eye prints. On the prototype molds the eye prints look normal with open eyelids. But, who in hell decided to give the figures such awkward intoxicated eye expressions for the final version. Quote

More than likely, we might get 'normal' expressions on the characters in the CMF line. That way, consumers wouldn't just have to buy the house, but hunt down a wide-eyed Bart in the CMF line too. larsyuipo Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I don't like the big eyes of maggie, rest is awesome :D Quote
Foggy Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I love this set, i'm a technic guy but will buy this for sure! I love the Simpson♥♥ One question, how long do you think this set will stay available? 2 years? Quote
just2good Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I love this set, i'm a technic guy but will buy this for sure! I love the Simpson♥♥ One question, how long do you think this set will stay available? 2 years? I'm guessing about two years, but if LEGO is allowed to sell it more than that, (I'm not sure if there's licensing problems for selling a licensed set as long as they want?) I'm sure they will. This is bound to be a huge licensed seller like the Death Star... Quote
Sarah Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 The set is really good and certainly a dream come true for many fans and not even that expensive (200€ is a lot of money, don't get me wrong, but not for what you get here). Personally, I am more thrilled for the Mos Isley Cantina, so I am afraid that is where my money goes. Still, I have to admit this set is tempting. Perhaps I will be turned to the yellow side of the force once I get my hands on the blind bags. 2,50 for Simpsons minifigs? Count me in! People keep saying it is not scaled for Minifigs? I'm curious to see what it looks like with other (non-Simpson) minifigs in it... Quote
jfbat Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Love the little touches, like the crumpled up front fender on the car... Quote
KingPixels Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Wow, if they ever get the Futurama license I would just be beside myself!! Futurama characters in the style of these figures would be awful... Quote
midi Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Oh my, I'm definitely going bankrupt this year! Love all the details Quote
Dark Knight Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Haha, I agree with BrickG. The droopy eyes of the simpsons family seemed a little overdone. The BrickG's eyes look so much better! Quote
