kabel Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 After Eric Grimmson had been kidnapped by the Shraliek he was bound and taken to a cave located at the border between Mitgardia and Nocturnus, possibly leading into Nocturnus. But he couldn't tell, he had never been in these parts of the country before. Another bang on the head and he was gone again. In his dreams he saw thousands of drow raiding a country unknown to him taking every living soul that they came a across. Screaming for his life Grimmson woke up again. The walls of the cave were still echoing his sounds but he couldn't see anything. His kidnappers gave a grunt, that somewhat sounded like a laugh. But after a while it was all quiet again and all he was able to hear was the splach of two paddles hitting the water. As he was shackled he couldn't move and frightened to death by the dark he gave up his impulse to jump out of the canoe and run away. By and by the dark of the gave away to a distant light and all off the sudden the boat left the cave. After his eyes had adapted to the light again, he saw that the goblins had taken him to their camp in the middle of a swamp. The Shraliek chief-woman was already awaiting them and not far away he could see which fate the little monsters were possibly planning for him too ... Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 This is a great story and great build. Glad to have you on our side Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Great build! I love that vulture. I like how you've done the Shraliek woman too. Quote
B Rick Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Nice! Good to see someone not using bright blue for water. Quote
Gunman Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I like the bird;) also great rockwork. Hit him with the whip!! Xd stSsSs! ;) Quote
mrcp6d Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I like how this turned out! The lime green is sweet and the leaf pieces on the tower roof work well. Quote
kabel Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Thanks guys! Glad you like it although lime green wasn't my invention of course. @gunman: yeah, I guess Grimmson is really scared now! Quote
monsinjor Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I love it. So much colors... Rockwork, plants and water are my favorites. Great work kabel! Quote
LegoPanda Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) looks good, i was already wondering what happened to Eric Grimmson, turn out not to be that much in his favor Edited January 11, 2014 by LegoPanda Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Your SNOT rockwork looks great here as does the landscaping on top of it Excellent little watchtower too, it fits the Shraliek style nicely I hope Grimmson can escape Quote
kabel Posted January 12, 2014 Author Posted January 12, 2014 Thanks for the comments! I know I'm not the first to use the lime green, and yes me doing the snot rocks does become sort of repetitive. However, I just wanted to mark the border between Mitgardia and Nocturnus by combining these two elements. So the cave actually is a secrete entrance to Mitgardia only known to Nocturnians so far, probably made by the drow in the first place. Everything atop the cliff is actually still in Mitgardia and the swamp then the beginning of Nocturnus! So who knows what the Shraliek are going to do to Eric Grimmson and why they went out to get precisely him ... Quote
Legonardo Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 :D so awesome kabel! you've made some very cool combos for the shraliek, i hope to see more of them Quote
synbiote Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Nice "little" build there Kabel. :). love the hair/bird XD don't dig the posts used for the guard tower though.. makes it looka little bland to me. then again.. Since the cave is still unknown to mitgardians I'm just gonna say it's just a improvised watchtower the shraliek put up as fast a s possible.. So they didn't care about the lovely detailing ;-). great minifig posing..& still do like the snot rockwork. Quote
Wedge09 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Really nice work  I like in particular the stonework Quote
kabel Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 @ld: I have 8 of them now, they didn't all fit into the moc though. You should really get the Medusa from CMF 10. Her head makes an awesome female Shraliek as you can see. @Syn: actually this is exactly what I was thinking as I build the watch tower! Quote
de Gothia Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Yuck! What a nasty place to live! Slimy green "water" and some poison looking plants on top!? Yuck! Love your moc! The green water really is the eyecandy here! Nice snotted and I love the little tunnel entrance! Quote
Torgar Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I love the rocks and the lime green water Great entry! Quote
ZCerberus Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I love the Orc figures the most here, they look just like I imagine a rag tag bunch of dumb Orcs to look! Quote
kabel Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 thanks mates! Getting all those lime green bricks was a pain in the butt, as, so far, I've used most of them as supporting bricks somewhere in Thorshaven. So I had to open all the modules and substitute the lime green bricks with other colors while trying not to break everything apart. I now value the color way more! @Z: glad you like it and are not complaining about the photography. I really tried hard to live up to your standards this time! The initial credit for the Orcs (Shraliek) have to be given to LD though. I've just come up with a few more combos. Quote
Emma Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 As others have said, great fig combos. My favorite part though has to be the snot rock-work, especially how you worked the cave into it. I'm not really a fan of the lime/bright/olive green colours used all together, it's a bit too clash-y for my personal tastes. (I think a dark green in place of the lime might have looked nice (although I think dark green might be even harder to come across than the lime)) Quote
Gideon Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Lots of interesting details and good color choices, well done As you already might have noticed, I like this tribal side of Nocturnus a lot Quote
The Architect Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Great work kabel the terrian is very well placed. Quote
Niku Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Love the lime green water, the rock formations are interesting too. And liking to see more of Grimson. Quote
kabel Posted January 20, 2014 Author Posted January 20, 2014 Well thanks for all these kind words guys. With my current lack of bricks I actually thought I wouldn't be able to enter anything decent. @Emma: With the lime green I tried to refer to ISC's depiction of the Nocturnian swamps. @Gideon: as I've already said, you kinda build what I had on mind, strange thing that! @Niku: more of Grimmson to come! Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I really like the base you've made and the small cave they're coming out. Time for a rescue party?! Quote
