LEGOman273 Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) Where are our Star Wars Staff members? I haven't seen Stash in about forever, and KDM hasn't made a (public) post since March 16th. The 2012 Rumors topic is frequently off-topic with posts that should be in Future Star Wars sets and there are promised Community Build tags and Fan Theme tags that other members are waiting for. I know we're all busy and can't always be online, but I'd hate to see this forum descend into un-moderated chaos. Siegfried seems to have taken over Moding the SW forum. Mods: If you need an apprentice to fill the third spot, I'd be glad to do it. I'm on here every day, usually multiple times, so I could handle it. I've been practicing, too: "Stay on Target!" And this is from someone who i) had 'annoying' as a name tag until very recently ii) seems to make a lot of very consise posts that really don't say a great deal and iii) aren't often related to the topic... Back on topic & being a little more serious, do you have to meet certain criteria before you can become a moderator, or do you wait to be 'invited'? Quote

Back on topic & being a little more serious, do you have to meet certain criteria before you can become a moderator, or do you wait to be 'invited'? I'm sure there is criteria that has to be met such as daily activity, years on the site, maturity, etc. Also, I believe asking to be a mod, especially publicly, is a good way to never be asked to become a mod. Just my guess though. So far I've noticed no chaos; infact, the 2012 thread was cleaned by our newest mod quite nicely using fear. Quote

Yes, but he should be well aware of the fact that the ability to clean threads is insignificant next to the power of the Force. I agree that there is no real chaos yet, although some threads from time to time seem to be pretty close it. But, as I'd put it, I clearly feel the absence of moderators. I felt more comfortable when I had the feeling that KimT was around. Edited April 2, 2012 by Brickadeer Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Siegfried seems to have taken over Moding the SW forum. Except that that's not his primary duty on EB, and he can't work as well on the technical side of the site if he has to constantly be modding the SW forum. So far I've noticed no chaos; infact, the 2012 thread was cleaned by our newest mod quite nicely using fear. Indeed. I was (if this statement was in direct response to mine) saying that I don't want the forum to descend into chaos, not that there was that much chaos present already. Quote
Mr Man Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 A promotion for Brickdocter or Oky . Does Stash moderate sneakily, as I don't think I've ever seen him on this forum since I joined . Quote
Brickdoctor Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Does Stash moderate sneakily, as I don't think I've ever seen him on this forum since I joined . I believe Stash is the manager of a LEGO Brand Retail Store, so I don't blame him for not being as active as I think a mod should be. Quote

StoutFiles Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 A promotion for Brickdocter or Oky . I would second that. Though I still think, for the time being, that the current mods are doing a good job. Quote
LEGOman273 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 READ HERE, please. Thank you. Where are our Mods? (Nothing against you, Fangy. ) Quote
Shadows Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Where are our Mods? (Nothing against you, Fangy. ) You may want to carefully consider how much you actually want our attention before asking for it. Very carefully. Quote
Oky Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 Is it just me, or is the forum skin kinda broken? It looks fine when I open a thread, but in the main forum, the black pattern of the background is gone, and it's dark blue where it should have a gray gradient, and part of the banner is missing too. Quote

I'll let the janitor know. We are already aware, thanks for pointing this particular instance out though. Quote
coolguy2323 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Not a Star Wars question but how many posts do I need to reach the rank of citizen? Quote

Brickdoctor Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 As some of you know, I've been working on a total restructuring of the MOC Index in the last couple weeks. The MOC Index is going to be unavailable for a little while, hopefully no longer than an hour, as I rearrange and update the posts. Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Update: ...and done! The new index is sorted according to both MOC type and appearance of the model within the saga, with a table of contents in the first post linking to the various categories throughout the index, so, hopefully, it'll be even easier to find MOCs in this forum. I tested it out (by searching for my 17th CES MOCs); it looks great. Much easier to navigate. Well done Brickdoctor. Quote
Kim Thomsen Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Amazing work Brickdoctor - you sure cleaned it up Quote
Erdbeereis Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Great job Brickdoctor. It looks really nice now. Quote
purpleparadox Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Thanks Brickdoctor! It looks really great now. Hope ya know how much EB appreciates all of your work! Quote

I can only imagine how much effort it has taken you to get everything reorganized in there, but it really paid off! Just spent some time browsing the MOC index, and it has become much easier to navigate. Great job Brickdoctor, your efforts are greatly appreciated! Quote
Brickdoctor Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 How do you get the Star Wars tags? This tag is for winning a Star Wars contest: (actually, it was, we've got a new one in the works that isn't just a Star Wars Galaxies logo) This tag is for bloggers with the Eurobricks Star Wars Forum Blog: Retired Rebel Bloggers get this one: This tag recognizes consistent positive contribution to the Star Wars forum: (this one's probably going to be redone soon, too) This tag is for members who have been active in the Star Wars forum and members of EB for over a year: This tag is for participants of the original Venator Community Build: And these tags are for participants of the current Community Builds: Quote
