Rocky Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 (edited) No they haven't been indexed yet. Oh sorry, I assumed when poll was added the set was indexed. My mistake. I was mainly just wondering if you missed it. With such a busy job on Eurobricks I could imagine that it would be easy to miss a few things. Sorry again for taking up your time. Thank you Edited September 5, 2009 by Rocky Quote
KimT Posted September 5, 2009 Author Posted September 5, 2009 Eurobricks isn't a job for me, it's a hobby. I usually index once in a while. It may be every 2nd week or so, sometimes more, sometimes less. I usually don't miss adding reviews or MOCs, but as a general rule use this: If you haven't been indexed after a month, then I've missed it and you should drop a message in either the Review Index or the MOC Index (depending on your topic). I know this may be too much to ask, but could you gather up an ask any Lego contacts we have on this site if there's any information on the promo's coming to America? I know I'm obsessed a little, but I just want a quick way to build up my Stormies without buying the old battlepack! Quote

Rocky Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Hello, Recently I noticed that some people have a star wars symbol. It is the death star with "star wars" written in the middle of it. example: Does this have any meaning? Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I am unsure, but I will check with some people and find out. Quote
Svelte Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 This is a special tag KimT introduced a while back to reward those who brought a high level of contribution generally to the SW forum. It's different from the competition winners tag (which you can see an example of under my avatar ) Quote
Siegfried Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Does this have any meaning? Yes. Read these holy words. Quote
Rocky Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 Yes. Read these holy words. It was like a bible verse Thank you for the information. Quote
pedro Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 After reading Mos Eisley's "If you could revive one production year's sets..." topic, I headed over to Brickset to find which year had been my golden year for LEGO Star Wars with a mind to write a reply; but on returning I found the thread locked and I'm not all together sure why. Stash, the only comment you supplied was: No. The topic seemed perfectly resonable to me, I was wondering if you could elaborate a little more on why it was closed? Cheers. Quote
Millacol88 Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Just throwing this out there, I think it's better to explain why a topic is being closed rather than just saying "no." Then everyone understands why, and they're more likely not to be upset if it's explained to them why. Quote

Shompis Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 It won't take much time to write a one sentence long explanation of why a topic was closed instead of a one word long saying no with no further explanation. Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 When I close a topic or move it, I always send a message to the member that started the thread. Mos_Eisley knows why the thread was closed, and I know why the thread was closed. That's all we need! All you need to know is that it was done for a reason. No, it was not closed because I had nothing better to do this weekend! Quote
pedro Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Obviously you had a reason, but isn't it better to be open about it to avoid confusion from other members? Quote
Oky Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 I must say that I have to agree with pedro. I too was rather puzzled about the closing of that topic and while I'm sure that you had a good reason to close it, it would have been nice to give the other members at least a hint about why it was closed. It would avoid confusion and help us to understand what type of topics are unwanted on this forum. And on a side note, I'm getting a rather negative vibe from you, Stash. Making one-word comments like "No" and comments that basically say "that's none of your business" make you sound somewhat rude. That might just be due to the fact that this is the internet where things tend to sound more negative than they should, but I'm just saying how I feel. Quote
KimT Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 Obviously you had a reason, but isn't it better to be open about it to avoid confusion from other members? Maybe. Stash had his reasons and did pm the topic-founder about the why's and how's. Sometimes you guys just have to trust our judgement. Being too open sometimes leads to endless discussion on stuff that isn't related to Star Wars LEGO at all. Your concerns and input on this matter has and will be taken into consideration on future situations like this. Quote

No, it was not closed because I had nothing better to do this weekend! Where did you get that from? All anyone did was offer their opinion about the subject currently at hand. Me and the others just said what we thought about it, then you and Siegfried jumped on it like we were insulting you. If you don't want people to have an opinion, don't have a topic dedicated to asking questions and offering feedback for the Moderators. Quote
Rocky Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Hello moderators, I'm working on a in depth review for the Ultimate Collectors Series (UCS) Nabbo Starfighter. Is there any way to warn anyone about this so they don't start making one. I know that in the past people have put the same set review out at the same time or a few days apart. Your index is almost done KimT only a few more reviews to go. Quote
Stash2Sixx Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 As far as I know, you just did! By all means, do your review. Take your time and do it to the best of your ability. Sure, sometimes it seems that someone else may have "stolen your thunder" by doing the same review, but don't let that get you down. People will usually read any and all of the different reviews on the same set. It just gives the reader more information on the item they were looking to gain information on in the first place! Quote
Siegfried Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 ...then you and Siegfried jumped on it like we were insulting you... Where did you get that from? All I did was say to give him more than an hour to answer a question. Quote
Millacol88 Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 Where did you get that from? All I did was say to give him more than an hour to answer a question. I'm sorry, I misinterpreted your post as being mean. The eye-roll emote and the "..." didn't help. I was offering my opinion, Stash can take as long as he wants to reply somewhere, not like it matters to me. Quote

I was offering my opinion, Stash can take as long as he wants to reply somewhere, not like it matters to me. Well I don't think I was being mean, but I was aiming on being rude. Afterall, your statement was soon after the previous one, and didn't add anything more to the question. It was just a nag and I was trying to head off any further nags before we had a "Stacks-on-Stash". If the question has been asked, repeating the question is not necessary and is just plain rude. Give the guy some time. <Free life tip> Adding a positive smilie after being rude to someone doesn't make your post any less rude. It's like insulting someone and saying "only joking" afterwards, or making a joke targeting a particular racial group and saying "But I'm not racist". Feel free to ignore this tip. </Free life tip> Quote
Rocky Posted September 15, 2009 Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) Hello, My review was just passed by the reviewers academy for the T-16 Skyhopper so I posted it in the star wars forum. I now see that someone moved it back to the reviewers academy to be rated again. Can someone please move it back to the star wars forum please. It was recommended that I should post a review in a public forum after it was done being rated. Edited September 15, 2009 by Rocky Quote
