KimT Posted September 29, 2009 Author Posted September 29, 2009 Move along people. No need to keep this spamming up the boards. It's just a hidden topic where Stash and I work on future ideas and communicate in general. No conspiracies or knowledge of all Star Wars sets until 2029... Sadly Quote
The Who Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Actually, we had a conspiracy. It's long over now, only the newer people point it out anymore. And another. No need to keep this spamming up the boards. It's just a hidden topic where Stash and I work on future ideas and communicate in general. No conspiracies or knowledge of all Star Wars sets until 2029... Any particular reason they are hidden, rather than being a regular locked topic, or something like that?Just none of our business, I'm guessing? Quote
KimT Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 Just none of our business, I'm guessing? Yup. Something like that. It's all a question of: "Nice to know and need to know basis" And guess what? "You don't need to know!" Quote

Hewman Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 To avoid any perception (I'm making no allegations here) of dodgy voting tactics in the star wars competitions I propose that two limitations be placed on voting (if possible). 1. That people have been registered here for a certain length of time e.g. a month; and 2. have a minimum number of posts, just something small like say 10. So far in the battle pack contest, 4/44 voters (4/43) before I voted are members with only one post, the one to vote in this competition. There are also quite a few other voters with little experience on eurobricks. I'm not having a go at any of these people at all but I just think things would look far more open if there were some minor restrictions on voting rights when there are great prizes up for grabs. Thanks for listening (well reading actually in most cases). Quote
KimT Posted October 2, 2009 Author Posted October 2, 2009 I understand the fear of dodgy votes, but rest assured that we're on top of that. As for voters with few posts, try looking at their join date. At lot of them have been members for quite a while, they just don't post that much. Not all members are active posters, but they log on often and follow a lot of what happens around here. The amount of posts is not a measurement for how active a member is or isn't. We'll discuss how to vote and who's to vote for future contests, but this one stays "as is". Quote
pedro Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 To add weight to KimT's comments, I was a lurker for a long time before I actually joined, then even as a member I barely posted for ages. The transition has been an instance where I felt I had to comment on something; so signed I up, said my bit and that was it. I think maybe a year or so later I decided to be more a part of the Eurobricks community and retro-actively 'introduced' myself... ...now I stick my nose in wherever I can But that's an example of how a non-existant post count isn't necessarily a reflection of a member's - or indeed a lurker's - time spent on Eurobricks. Millacol88 Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I don't think there is much risk of someone winning by using multiple accounts. The staff have ways of finding out who is cheating. I like this "post your vote" system better than the "anonymous poll" system that's been used in the past. In a contest where that system was used, I got accused of cheating. Apparently my entry was so crappy it could've only got four votes by me having multiple accounts. Quote
LEGO STAR WARS Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 (edited) Can we have a petition to keep LEGO Star Wars past 2010? Kind of like this http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=33570 Thanks Edited October 4, 2009 by LEGO STAR WARS Quote
Skipper 24 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Can we have a petition to keep LEGO Star Wars past 2010? Kind of like this http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=33570 Thanks I personally don't think it's necessary. Firstly the end of the license in 2011 so a petition wouldn't seem appropriate yet. Also I personally think the licence will get renewed but those are just my thoughts. Quote

Stash2Sixx Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 About 1 year before, but I could be mistaken. I remember talking to a rep in a TRU once, and it was just before the license was going to run out. He told me that the license had been extended into 2011. Quote

KimT Posted October 4, 2009 Author Posted October 4, 2009 Going off topic fellas. This is NOT for the discussion on wether or not the theme is discontinued. There's a topic for that, which can be found in the pinned topic: "Star Wars Forum Index" Can we have a petition to keep LEGO Star Wars past 2010? Kind of like this http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=33570 Thanks No, most definately not. Petitions mean nothing. I am sure that TLG is aware of how many fans Star Wars LEGO has or hasn't. Us signing petitions wont change anything. Sorry about that, but TLG is a Danish company and in Denmark we don't do petitions on everything Quote

Forresto Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 I had an idea that I might not have time to orginize but what if we did a community build of a city like coruscant or Mos Eisley or some other famous Star Wars city/planet. If it was coruscant it would only be a small portion but could be several levels. I personally think it's a cool idea. Quote

It would be awesome if one of those locations where made, or at least a small part of them Maybe thats the next SW contest KimT design and make a small part, or afew levels of coruscant! or Mos Eisley! that would be cool! thespurs200708 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 ? Try the Buy/Sell/Trade/Finds Forum for such things I am not refering to this forum, I am talking about Eurobricks as a whole. I have searched for posts about buying/selling Lego wholesale, but have found nothing. I am just wondering whether it is forbidden. Quote
KimT Posted October 8, 2009 Author Posted October 8, 2009 I don't use the BSTF myself, but check this topic on the Site Guidelines concerning Buy/Sell/Trade Quote
