Ninja Nin Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 My entry to the Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka : Episode III [ Oh Echo Base! Oh Echo Base! ] This holiday season was clearly a busy one. The Alliance organized a lot of missions, and we had no time to celebrate. As a recently promoted Alliance Intelligence member, I was sent to Hoth, an infamous freezing planet with the legendary Echo Base, to recover any useful information from the abandoned servers and destroy them; at the same time to recover the Princess ‘s wardrobe. Oh well, it’s Christmas after all, so why not have some relaxing and fun actions. ============================== After our arrival, the pilot had some free time decorating the Hanger. Rebel Trooper 1: Oh No! The Imperials are here! Rebel Trooper 2: Defend our Christmas tree! At the back of the Hanger, some troopers were trying to recover the equipment, which we left behind during our evacuation from last battle. Rebel Trooper 3: Be careful ! The base floor is quite unstable. I reached one of the control rooms with my partner. There, we found the Princess Leia’s secret changing room. With much effort, we override the system and opened that heavily secured door. As one of the female members of the Alliance, I always wish to see some of the Princess’s lovely dresses, and now I had the chance. All of the sudden, the Rebel Commander arrived. He insisted he had a secret mission inside that room and gave me strict order not to enter! He went straight in and locked the door behind him! WHAT! I was furious! But I cannot disobey the Commander. Duty comes first! And I continue to destroy the remaining servers. I wonder what he is doing in the Princess’s room (??????) Commander: Oh Look ! I 'm the Princess! I 'm FABULOUS ! ============================== Overview : Front : Back : Hope you like it Quote
LegoFjotten Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Wow! Awesome entry Ninja Nin! Love it! The hangar section is great, love the gray thingamabob sticking out at the top and the equipment that fills the hangar. Really nicely done! And that commander… Quote
Lobot Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Another top notch entry Ninja Nin, well done! It's packed with some great details, and is beautifully presented as usual. I especially like the scene with the Commander; was it influenced by Stardust by any chance? Quote
BEAVeR Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 There's so much to like here! The yellow construction-thingie the pilot is standing on, the improvised snow trench, the hole in the floor, the perfect shape of the gate, the tubes leading to the snowspeeder, the command room with all that angled debree, the wardrobe with all those nice stands and closets... and that Commander... I already here the French Cancan playing in the background as well... This really is a gem with plenty of things to look at. All the greebles, tools and little trolleys make it nice and cosy... for Hoth standards then. It's very good you thought of adding lights. If only a section of the upper level had collapsed, it would have been totally awesome! Quote
nematode Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Nice job! The rooms fit together really well and the broken snowspeeder is a nice touch. The commander scene is funny and I like the printed dress that you added to the white mannequin. Although this doesn't necessarily detract from the build, I couldn't find a photo of your sig fig that is looking at the camera. Seeing as you built a custom snow outfit for the mission, perhaps you just forgot to upload a photo? The rest of the base is fantastic, especially how you incorporated all of the broken bits. Quote
Wedge09 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Awesome work Ninja  Very well detailed, I like it Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Wow! This is a really nice masterpiece from you. So detailed and so smooth! I see the SNOT techniques getting more and more popular. Lots of detail and plenty things to like. May favorite part surely is the metal bar with lights and hoses sticking out in the hanger where it really adds a lot of detail. The only complaint would be, now why didn't I think of that! And that general sure reminds me of Robert De Niro in Stardust! Quote
Ninja Nin Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 Thank you all for the comments ! I especially like the scene with the Commander; was it influenced by Stardust by any chance? I see the SNOT techniques getting more and more popular. Lots of detail and plenty things to like. And that general sure reminds me of Robert De Niro in Stardust! I didn't think about Stardust when I started building, not until I assembled the commander minifig in flamenco dress with a fan in his hand .... It looks so much like Captain Shakespeare ! I think SNOT technique is more useful in the case, when I have more white bricks than white tiles to cover larger build. Although this doesn't necessarily detract from the build, I couldn't find a photo of your sig fig that is looking at the camera. Seeing as you built a custom snow outfit for the mission, perhaps you just forgot to upload a photo? Ninja Nin looked grumpy since she couldn't enter the dressing room, she didn't want to have any photos taken during this mission ! Quote
