Blakstone Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 This is fourth week of Middle-Earth Madness. We had a new champion last week: Mount Doom. If you had to pick only one Dream set, which would it be? Mount Doom OR Lothlórien Just like last week, these are dream sets so there is no hard or fast rule on what has to be included in either. Imagine you had a chance to greenlight just one LEGO Lord of the Rings set based on a simple description. Which one would you want? Summary from previous week(s): Week 3 - Mount Doom defeats the Rohan Battle Pack 14 to 11 Week 2 - Rohan Battle Pack defeats the Watcher in the Water 14 to 7 Week 1 - Rohan Battle Pack defeats The Green Dragon 23 to 4. LegoPanda Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 this is a very hard one, lothlorien would be beautiful, but mound doom is the place where the movie is kind off about, bring the ring to mordor, so mound doom it is Quote
Haltiamieli Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I can get the black and dark bley bricks I need from BL, so certainly Lórien. Quote
qiadris Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Lothlorien gets my vote. Mt. Doom would be too bland as a set. As a 15$ set, you get rock and lava, at 200$, you get more rock and more lava. Lothlorien on the other hand, can start small with just Galardiel's Mirror, and at different price tiers it can be expanded. Quote
Trunkbass Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I agree with qiadris! Lothlórien it is! Quote
Hammerhand Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Lothlorien if we get Celeborn in it too. Quote
deskp Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 I vote for Lothlorien. Here is what I'd imagine the 2 sets could be like. Mt DOom wathertop set size, Lorien council of Elrond size: Quote
Moexy Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 Lothlorien for sure (fan of the elves), Mount Doom if it would include Elrond, Isildur or any other Second Age Warrior it would be called something like Battle of the Last Alliance. Quote
TheLET Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 This is a more difficult choice, but I would go for Lothlorien. I love the elvish architecture and we really need a Galadriel minifig. Quote
wesker Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I vote for Lothlorien. Here is what I'd imagine the 2 sets could be like. Mt DOom wathertop set size, Lorien council of Elrond size: Seeing those designs makes the choice all the more harder. I think I'm going to give the edge to Lothlorien since its different from the other LOTR sets we've had so far, whereas we've already gotten a Mordor themed set with the Black Gate. Quote
Deathleech Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I would have to vote Lothlorien based on the minifigure likelihood. If Mt. Doom had Isildur, Elrond, Numenoreans, Sauron, etc. that would hands down win for me. However I am sure it would just have Sam, Frodo, and Gollum. Lothlorean on the other hand could realistically have Galadriel, Celeborn, and some elves. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 I know I haven't really spoken much about LotR in this forum, but I personally have started to become a very big fan (especially the Hobbit). Saying that, I must say I would like to have Lothlorien, despite how cool Mount Doom would be. Just my opinion :) Quote
SandMirror38 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Lothlorien... i need more elves apart from Haldir! Quote
jodawill Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Definitely Lothlórien! I love sets with a lot of tree pieces and the elves are really cool. Quote
