Lego Spy Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 [December ??, 2013] Our ship came to a soft landing on the snow covered planet of Hoth. We were split into teams, two troopers each, and given Snowtrooper armor to suit the harsh climate. After being split up, we we're given our commands: search the Echo Base and locate any information left behind by the Rebels, and destroy it. I was paired with LucasLaughing, a member of the Imperial Security Bureau, and together, we entered the supposedly abandoned Echo Base. What mysteries await... Lego Spy and LucasLaughing investigate the Rebel's heating system. Full Build _________________________________________________________________________________ Front of the Build ________________________________________________________________________________ We left the system online until we left; as it was very cold that day... Or any day, since it's Hoth. ______________________________________________________________________________ Without Snowtroopers _______________________________________________________________ "I wonder what's in here." I mumbled, as we entered what must have been the hundredth wing. ________________________________________________________________________________ I searched through the remaining files, most had been deleted, but I was able to find a hologram with a publication date from a few days ago... ______________________________________________________________ We looked on as the Rebels ( ) practically revealed the location of their new base to the empire ( ! I saved the file to my USB drive and we continued with the search. (Is someone watching us? ) ________________________________________________________________________________ Here's a look at this inferior Rebel computer, before... ______________________________________________________________ Lucas smashes the computer! ________________________________________________________________________________ "Whose are these?" I asked. "Maybe that Rebel Scum who calls herself a princess?" Suggested Lucas. ________________________________________________________________________________ Then, all of a sudden, a Rebel rushed into the room! "What do you want!?" We shouted. "I- I-" He stammered, "I was sent back to get the P- Princess's clothing." Me and Lucas exchanged glances of amusement. ________________________________________________________________________________ "You know what," I told the Rebel, "It's the holidays, we'll let you go this time." "Thank you, the Empire is in my debt." He shook hands with me and Lucas, grabbed the "Princess's" clothing, and rushed from the room. The End ________________________________________________________________________________ Sorry for the bad picture, but anyone who has played Shadows of the Empire should know what lies behind this door. _________________________________________________________________________________ I hope you liked my entry! Comments and criticism are welcome! You can see more of my MOCs and pictures at my Flickr! Quote
Ninja Nin Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Very clean build, small but full of details ! Well done ! I particularly like the hologram projector, nice use of Chi crystal and hands for the switch. One minor thing is, why did the Princess put one piece of clothing on top of two pairs of trousers ? BEAVeR Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It looks just perfect for a build of this scale. The corridor coming out into the room looks very good, and all the control panels maintain a distinct look, good of you not to fall into repetetion. Also, you've placed the snow and ice tactically. That hologram is a nice creation. If you want to rework some areas, maybe do something about that door the Rebel is coming through. It's just a rectangle, and isn't even high enough for the rebel to pass. Way to go! So... what's the location of the Rebel base then? Quote
MstrOfPppts Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Nice little build, smooth and clean. The hands levers are excellent! Maybe adding another line of bricks would add some more space to the MOC and also a possibility to fix the plain hole in the wall into something like doors ... Also, don't tell anyone that by shaking Rebel's hand you attached a little transmitter to his gloves ... Quote
MKJoshA Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 The details on this build are amazing! I always knew you Empire groupies were soft at heart. Can't say we'll treat you the same way though. And I guess I'm going to have to play Shadows of the Empire... Quote

One minor thing is, why did the Princess put one piece of clothing on top of two pairs of trousers ? I was going to build an extra shelf (which I probably could have done with a 1x4 white plate), but I was rushed to finish the build and take the pictures, as I knew I'd be busy today (Monday) and tomorrow. If you want to rework some areas, maybe do something about that door the Rebel is coming through. It's just a rectangle, and isn't even high enough for the rebel to pass. I was thinking the same thing. At the time I couldn't think of any way to detail the doorway since it was only one stud wide, but I see now that I could have built two "pillars" on each side to add something to it. Ugh! The things you think about after you've finished. Maybe adding another line of bricks would add some more space to the MOC and also a possibility to fix the plain hole in the wall into something like doors ... Two strikes for the doorway! But again: ran out of time. I always knew you Empire groupies were soft at heart. Can't say we'll treat you the same way though. I know, we're great right? So selfless. (Here's an example just below!) Also, don't tell anyone that by shaking Rebel's hand you attached a little transmitter to his gloves ... Way to go! So... what's the location of the Rebel base then? You can't trust Rebel scum, they probably set the hologram up! That's why... I attached the transmitter! Quote
Lego Spy Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 Small but clean, I like it Thanks! Quote
LucasLaughing Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Awesome - I'm honored to be included in your build! My favorite part about this creation is the minifig posing; the figs look very natural and "in action." I especially love the shot where "we're" looking at the hologram - I can almost see the motion of both troops leaning in for a closer look. Good work! (Also, I'm glad we didn't try to open the last door. There is nothing good behind that door...) Quote

LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Amazing story board and very neat Moc! This could be an original lego set: I like how is small but full of beautiful details! The light is a great touch! Very well done! Quote

The light is a great touch! Very well done! Thanks! I wasn't sure how people would like the light, so that's pleasant to hear. (It looked a little "green" in the image because of the lighting) Quote
