I personally think the head is the only somewhat-accurate part on the CMF Goblin to the Moria orcs where depicted in the films. In the film, the Moria orcs did not wear the CMF Goblin's type of clothing as such, but rather wore jagged armor comprised of many pieces and very tattered clothes underneath (as was well-represented in the minifigure in the official set). The CMF at it's base is fairly cartoonish for Moria orcs, unless all of the orcs are represented in this similar fashion and a diversion away from the exact film representation is made.

Just my personal opinion... I still hope to get some CMF Goblins.

I have to agree with you guys. The CMF Goblin looks a bit too cartoonish and doesn't look that frightening than the Moria Orcs. Nonetheless the CMF Goblin is a cheap way for expanding the Moria army - altough the figure itself isn't very accurate :classic:

I think the CMF figure is the best way to army build on the cheap. There's some good parts like the torso and head piece. Granted the face printing isn't overly scary, it is serviceable. Also don't forget that helmets help...

I'm hoping the Goblin CMF opens the door to a potential Orc CMF down the line.

I am getting a load of the goblin myself for army building, the moria-orc hair looks great with it I think, the colours match well.

What I plan to do firstly is use the goblin to populate orc strongholds where it doesn't matter that they are not armoured (orc forge and orthanc for example), thus displacing all the official orcs which have proper armour torsos forward to the battle scenes.

Does anyone here use short legs for Moria Goblins?

I always had the impression that Moria Goblins were smaller than regular orcs (and a lot smaller than Uruk-Hai), but I never tried giving them LEGO short legs :sweet:

You're right - I had the impression too that the Moria Orcs look smaller than the Mordor Orcs. Nonetheless using short legs doesn't work very well because they look too cute than :sweet: .
