Posted January 15, 201411 yr So this year for Christmas I was presented with an unusual gift something I was not expecting at all. I was given an entire custom Lego house, designed and built by my father. This building is huge, taking at least 6000 pieces or so. Story goes that my father designed the house in LDD over the summer, which I saw. While I was at university he ended up building it.. hehe, never too old for Lego So the house itself has three floors, each all with individual rooms and all tiled. The house also has a fireplace and a chimney that actually goes up the entire house. At the top is also an attic that features a hatch and ladder. All in all this is a crazy build for me at least and I could not imagined this at all. Cheers dad And now for some poor quality photos (Don't have my decent camera around) Lego 64 x 32 Modular House by Defaultsound, on Flickr Lego 64 x 32 Modular House by Defaultsound, on Flickr Lego 64 x 32 Modular House by Defaultsound, on Flickr Lego 64 x 32 Modular House by Defaultsound, on Flickr Lego 64 x 32 Modular House by Defaultsound, on Flickr Lego 64 x 32 Modular House by Defaultsound, on Flickr Few more shots on my Flickr, besides that enjoy
January 15, 201411 yr Now this a grand house......any plans for furniture inside it yet ? Brick On 'Defaultsound' !
January 15, 201411 yr Wow, did he already regularly build? Because this is a really lovely model, especially if he didn't really do LEGO.
January 15, 201411 yr Wow, impressive build. This scale of 64x32 works really well, I only feel the roof is a bit red... And now it is up to you to do move in and put some furniture in it?
January 15, 201411 yr Author I might add furniture one day when I get the time, as for my dad and I we got back into Lego last year. Went a bit mad and started buying/building a lot, only thing is he has access to Lego hence this build, while at Uni I only brought two sets for display purposes.. Over the summer I might find time to try something.
January 15, 201411 yr Great MOC. I don't know why, but the first thing that popped into my head when I saw it and the big interior was "the diary of Anne Frank" floorplan. No idea why. Great build Adamski
January 15, 201411 yr Wow this is brilliant...I agree the red colour could do with being toned down a wee bit...maybe add some detail to the roof in another muted colour. But what a great present...I'd be chuffed if I got all those bricks
January 15, 201411 yr Wow, that's a fantastic gift, indeed! Like gazumpty I'd be pretty jazzed to get all those bricks... except that I don't think I'd want to disassemble a MOC created as a gift for me from my dad. I think this is one I'd keep together permanently. It sounds like you have a really cool dad, Defaultsound. Congrats on your beautiful Christmas present. :)
January 15, 201411 yr What a wonderful Dad..... :) Some great details in the stairways and Windows. Now you need some furniture to define the rooms as Kitchens, Bathrooms, Bedrooms and Living spaces. Maybe you can even sneak a Lego Man Cave into the attic space? :) :) :)
