In order to establish dominance over the swamplands of Nocturnus, the Black Spire has established outposts on well defendable locations. As the swamp is filled with way too much entangled plants, the only way to reach the tower on this rock is by a wooden walkway.

The commander of the tower

Edit:

I would like to claim the following UoP DoH credits for this build:

Architecture: Advanced SNOT (for the stairs and for the base/cliffs with studs in all directions)

Landscape design: Sideways rocks

Hydrology: Still water

Geography: Swamp

The bridge is my favorite part, even though I don't know why. Great job with using the palisade bricks to add to the wall texture, would't have thought about that myself.

This is just my opinion, but the sideways rocks look a little to uniform in roundness. I might just be looking at it a bit too critically, but well done on the build!

Thanks! This is my first real attempt at sideways rocks, so I appreciate all feedback. The idea was that the cliff should look organic and not as jagged as my usual studs up cliffs. But at the end I had to resort to "normal" cliffs on the back side to have some time to finish the tower, because the SNOT cliffs took forever to build... I actually spent at least four times as much time on the forward half of the cliff and stairs as I spent on the rest of the MOC combined

Love the jumper-plate windows! Very nice smooth build.

Thanks! I'm really glad I found out that those curved bricks fit perfectly in the new style 1x6 arches

Wow, this looks great.....the baseplate is amazing. I wish I had that much Sand Green, that could come in handy!

Thanks! It's my first attempt at SNOTed water, but I figured that sand green could look good as swamp water. Sadly, I did not notice until it was too late to rebuild the base that the old sand green 2x8 slopes I had used for parts of the water actually were in a slightly different hue. But I suppose that adds some mottling effect to the water

Awesome job! I really like the colors you used for the tree, they complement the rest of the moc nicely. I also like the snot rocks with the stairs seemingly cut from the stone. Lets go Black Spire!

Thanks! The stairs were actually the original reason I had for the SNOT rocks (saw that technique long ago and have wanted to try it).

For the Black Spire!!

I know that feeling.

Nice! I especially like your tan/dark red tree (already liked it in the monkey build) and the tower itself also looks great. I love all that arrow slits and that crazy skelleton head over the door. Also nice use of Caesars hair :classic:.

The color choices here are awesome and I really like the contrast of the tan (is that tan?) tree trunk running across the sideways rocks.

Great MOC!

Sideways rocks are definitely time-consuming! I like the way you mixed them with the olive green though, really neat! And the sand green worked great for the swamp. Excellent job! I'll give you a +1 for all your claims!

One of my favorites for this round, it has a great texture and the rocks look natural, the vegetation gives a plus indeed and the little wood bridge is lovely. :classic:

Awesome sideways rocks, really looks like the tower was build on a skerry. I also like this autumn tree, seems like I have to get some of those colored leaves too.

Maybe the stairs should have a different color though.
