Alfadas Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Here I am again with another entry for the AoM challenge. This time it is the tower phase lll. Hope you like it, C&C are welcome! Here we are again, far in the cold north. I have found a large abandoned stone mine, so I went back to the tower to get my mate. When I arrived he was out of the tower (for the 2nd time in weeks). He was fighting imaginary monsters. I went to him and asked him to come with me to get stones for the tower. He said that he needed to practice his fighting skills more. I left him there and went back to the stone mine. I got as many stones as I could lift, went back to the tower and repeated that for about 20 times. I was very tired. I went to sleep. When I woke up, I saw that the wood in the tower had been replaced. I heard my mate making fighting noises. Still practicing, I thought, till I heard a weird scream. I jumped on my feet, grabbed my weapons, ran out and saw a couple of Cyclopses laying on the ground. One had an arrow in his back, another one had his head beheaded. I saw a dozen of them running away. "I don't think I want to be in the tower anymore, this is great!" my mate shouted. "Let's practice more!" Then he grabbed the head and put it on top of the flag. Here is the tower, now all stone. We are fighting on top of it. I love the tower now, just wish we had more food. Shot from above. He is a darned good fighter. One dead Cyclops. They made the noises we heard. And another one. The inside of the tower, with a fire. Another shot from above. We in front of the tower. That's it, our heroes did what their leader ordered them to do, build a nice tower and defend it with your live. Now all we need is their leader to show up at their tower and explain himself for the pointless order he gave. Hope you liked the story, but this isn't the end yet...... Quote
Gunman Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) nice story man :) cute regarding CC. try avoid using a lamp/single flash while the whole place is dark. it leads to white spots in bricks which isnt good. if you cant use enough lighting/or bouncce flash on ceiling, try photograph outside while daylight and keep a white sheet above moc to soften the light from the sun and you will have a nicely and evenly lighted moc. Lord Vladivus Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Haha great story. Nice to see your mate do some work! Quote
Alfadas Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 Thanks both of you! For the lighting, I don't have a lamp or anything to hang above it, and I don't like taking the MOCs down two staircases, then through a room with a jumpy dog, then outside, so taking pics outside isn't an option. But I can however take pics without flash, and hope the pics will still be good. Will try that! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I like the changes you made to the tower, though the dark bley slopes you added to the sides of the tower look a little out of place, I think they'd look better if you had the top of the tower get bigger and sit on top of the slopes. Here's a picture showing what I mean: Quote
Alfadas Posted January 17, 2014 Author Posted January 17, 2014 (edited) Thanks, I see what you mean. Good idea for next moc But how did you connect them? Edited January 17, 2014 by jeroenaa Quote
Infernum Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I agree with SK, but I love the tower and story! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 <p> <br />Thanks, I see what you mean. Good idea for next moc <img src='http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/default_laugh_new.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> But how did you connect them?<br /> <br /></p> Brick modified with stud work nicely to connect the slopes Quote
Alfadas Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Thanks! But unfortunately I don't have them. And I recently bought bricks, so I can't buy them any time soon. I can try things, but with your way I can't make it. But thanks anyway. Quote
