The Rocketeer used a Mauser C96, not a Luger P08. That bit of distinction aside, I think either would run afoul of LEGO's strictures against real life firearms. I know we got proper revolvers in The Lone Ranger sets, but these are decidedly more "modern-looking". I'm not against it, I'm just pessimistic.

I personally don't think it'd be that big of a deal, as the original Batman theme from 2006 did give us both a "Tommy" gun and a semi-automatic with 55707:

Your wish seems to have come true thanks to Toy Story 4. (if you don't mind the color)

A few accessories I wish existed in the CMF line: (or in LEGO generally for that matter)
More musical instruments like a violin or some brass instruments. (trumpet, trombone, tuba, horn, that sort of thing). Or how about a keytar?

Pliers

Jaws of Life (as used by fire and rescue teams, would be better than the circular saw piece they have used for that previously)

Cricket Bat

Golf putter

Scalpel

VR headset?

Claw Hammer

Bolt Cutters

Paintbrush (not the artist kind, the house painting kind)

One of those things doctors use to look inside your eyes and ears (not sure what its called)

This one was the 2006 Batman one,

not this one

The second came along with Indy sets. Although I would imagine LEGO would use the second for a rocketeer type figure as it is still current.

The same with a Star Trek style phaser. To many people, this would be fine for something of that genre.

You can get more accurate ones for Star Trek at brickforge and brickarms.

Ah, thanks for the clarification, I wasn't aware there were two variant designs! :classic:

Well, if a Rocketeer-inspired CMF were to stick to a preexisting part, I feel they'd instead give such a figure the old Clone Trooper blaster from the 2008 Clone Wars sets, as it more closely resembles a Luger/Mauser than Lego's semi-automatic mold.

Nah, the design of the Retro Spaceman's raygun mold is much too particular to the design sensibilities of the 1930's for a '60s-inspired Space archetype. If anything, Lego's original raygun mold introduced for Series 1's Spaceman would be a much more fitting preexisting complement for such a CMF, as its smaller profile comes closer to a sleek Star Trek Phaser than the larger, more cartoony design of the latter.

If we were to indeed see a Rocketeer-inspired CMF in the near future, a new rocket-pack/jetpack mold is a must, as Jango/Boba Fett's jetpack is just too particular to Star Wars to be reused for such. On the other hand, a new flight helmet mold wouldn't be as critically needed, but it'd make such a CMF much more of a draw for me personally if it did introduce such depending on how they'd execute it. Design-wise, either it could take the form of a winged/tail-finned aviator's cap, or a full-on Art Deco helmet much like The Rocketeer's in spirit; but, that latter approach would have to find its own unique take on such that could easily be its own thing without resembling The Rocketeer's too closely, much akin to what I feel this original character design had achieved:

Perhaps a rocketeer inspired figure could use a new helmet mold like Dr Fate giving Lego a reason to make a Dr Fate figure for DC fans.

Huh, sorta in the same way Firefly and Quantum Suit Ant-Man share the same helmet mold? :shrug_oh_well:

Ya know, I kinda like that idea, but Dr. Fate's helmet has a forward-swept crest more on par with the S17 Retro Spaceman's helmet rather than an aerodynamic, swept-back crest that would be necessary for most Rocketeer-inspired aviator characters. :sceptic:
