Blazej_Holen Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 The Gondor soldiers are usually seen in full armor like in this picture. The tree indentation isn't terribly noticeable on it. At least not so much so that it's more important than the helms imo. I would be ecstatic to get an official Gondor helm as I could then use it along with some standard silver chest plates on solid black torso/legs with random heads and have a nice looking Gondor Army.. Thats my words. Exactly. Armour (helmets and breastplates) are more significant and ergo important than printed body. besides gondor helmet is more then less a Barbute type (in gothic age) the helmets that others suppose to use (existing ones) are Norman type (early period of gothic, roman age) and these are more suitable for Rohan. I agree that current rohan helmet is not 100% accurate for soldiers, but, TLG released only one soldier, so obviously they didnt create mold for regular viking helmet but instead of this, they reuse Eomers/Theodens one. Deathleech Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Lego could also make a generic Gondor helm and it could serve as Faramir's helm, a basic Gondor soldier helm, and a White Tree guard helm if they were smart about it and put some holes on the sides for feathers to go into. Sure it wouldn't be perfect for all three, but it would more than suffice. Quote

Although if you look front on rather than from the side, then I find the tree quite visible. Plus it would also be a good piece for an armoured Boromir. Not that it matter much, as we aren't going to get either in purist form. Edited September 10, 2014 by MAB Quote
Blakstone Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Perhaps we should move the Gondor talk over to the LotR thread. I don't think Gondor will show up to the Battle of the Five Armies (although with Peter Jackson, you never know). Quote

Mahtion Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Yeah c'mon people I know the hobbit/LOTR forums are always off topic but keep the LOTR talk out of the Hobbit sub forum at the very least. I just want to see an up close Elrond from WK set. Quote

kevkipo Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Has Carlos gotten hand on another set yet? we haven't heard much of him lately? Quote
Steph 104th Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 If he has, I hope it is the Lake Town set, I'm very interrested in how it is in person. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 So far, the Lego online site has only the Lonely Mountain as an October 15 release set. Is it possible that this is the only one out of four that will be released two months ahead of the movie? In the past, it seems like they have revealed 1 set at a time weekly ahead of the release. We are quickly coming to the one month mark prior to October 15. I would find it hard to believe that Lego would not promote the sets and they suddenly show up for sale on the 15th. Guess we will know soon enough. Quote

I would assume they are all being released at the same time if they are all being manufactured together. If Lego doesn't show us pictures before Oct 15 it is most likely due to WB not wanting anything posted until then so nothing about the movie is given away. ZCerberus Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I would be quite surprised if they weren't all at the same time. Quote

Steph 104th Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 It is almost certain the sets will have the same release date, why release them on different dates? It is not as if any of them are exclusives. Quote
