kevkipo Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Does it really matter if you use Dain's helmet on iron hill dwarves For who should it matter... all iron hillers have that helmet, just put a new Torso and Beard and you have your army Quote
Hypernova888 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 For who should it matter... all iron hillers have that helmet, just put a new Torso and Beard and you have your army I wonder how many beards it can fit over....It looks as though Gimli's would, at least. Quote
Steph 104th Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 The only major difference between Dain's helmet and the Iron Hills soldiers helmets is the plume that Dain gets. But it is I minor difference, I think I will be picking up a few Dains to build an army, just swap a few beards here and there. just2good Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 I'm surprised people are finding these sets in target store. I had to ask for it from the back using barcodes. Quote
Zulithe Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Can you provide any codes? I'm heading to target today, may as well check for some of these. Quote

Venkefedo Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I wonder how many beards it can fit over....It looks as though Gimli's would, at least. It should fit over both styles of Fantasy dwarf beards as well, and Gandalf's, and the old wizards beard, and CMF Santa, and Wiley Fusebot's. The old wizard beard rises up a bit higher, so--judging by Gimli's helmet, it may not fit COMPLETELY snuggly, but enough that it's attached to the stud. Quote
Shroffy123 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 Anyone finding the sets in the Pacific Northwest .... Where's hawkman? Quote

That means people could technically make a huge army of the Iron Hills. I personally won't be doing this, but I think it's cool that one could. Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Brickshow really did a good review on the Lonely Mountain. They echo the thoughts of many that the set seems significantly overpriced, even when you throw in the Smaug factor. Despite the price, I will pick up one, because I could not imagine "The Hobbit" without the dragon, and Bricklinking a Smaug assembly will likely be very costly. I am hoping the hinges on the door with the key can easily be reversed, it is should open to the inside. There are lots of sand green and pearl gold pieces, so MOC or MOD potential looks good. Quote
Steph 104th Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I know it might seem very overpriced, which in part it is, but if you watch the review you see how much really goes into Smaug. He has folding wings, his mouth opens on 5 different levels. His head, neck, wings and tail are all on ball joints. I am pretty certain he is the most complex mold Lego has ever produced. Quote
Zulithe Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 While I like the set on the whole (i love sea green!), Smaug makes the set and he is worth the additional cost... i am certain of it. He is going to be one of those figures that fetches the box price just on his own within a year of the set going OOP! You thought Dinos were bad, just wait. Quote

I agree with you there, people are going to want him more and more with the time That's why i keep all my boxes and manuals Quote
Tuinman Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 I wasn't planning on buying the Lonely Mountain set, because of the high price, but after seeing the review... I really want that Smaug. It's massive. Quote

It's massive. Same, what I dislike about the set though is that I already have all the dwarves included in the set.... I might make a small army of humans with the new pieces. :P Quote

They are in full new costumes they are practically new, i would not have liked to see my Kili and Fili fighting in Bo5a in normal clothes :I Quote

They are in full new costumes they are practically new, i would not have liked to see my Kili and Fili fighting in Bo5a in normal clothes :I It hardly matters to most of you I'm sure, but they re-colored Dwalin's eyebrows this year. They used to be reddish-brown, but in 79018, mine came with dark brown eyebrows, which IMO looks much better. (I'm not sure if this was just a misprint on my mini figs) Quote
coolguy2323 Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Half are spotted at Toysrus and the other half spotted at Target. 79015 - 14.99 USD 79016 - 29.99 79017 - 59.99 79018 - 129.99 Thanks! I think I'll just wait and try to find them online though, I could get a deal out of it. Quote
namioik Posted September 28, 2014 Posted September 28, 2014 Thanks! I think I'll just wait and try to find them online though, I could get a deal out of it. Yeah I'm doing the best I can to resist buying hobbit sets. They go on sale more frequently than other themes. Good and a bad thing... Quote
Ardelon Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 The Lake Town sets do seem to look much better together than each on their own. Not so sure about the Dol Guldur sets. Quote
Robert_88 Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I don't really care about play features but I'm happy that they are better now. Normally we only get catapults and nothing else. :D Quote
kevkipo Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Just called my Local Lego Store (in Europe) Release date: 15 Oct! Quote
