The Real Walkers Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 What buildings do people think we'll be getting with the new Laketown addition? Bard's house? The Master's house? I'm curious :) Quote
Floundie Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 What buildings do people think we'll be getting with the new Laketown addition? Bard's house? The Master's house? I'm curious :) I think just one building, early descriptions indicated the tower with the wind lance would be included. Quote
Trunkbass Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 @The Real Walkers: probably the tower with the crossbowthing on it. I believe it was referred to ad a Bell Tower in the reports on one of the earlier toy fairs. Quote
Deathleech Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Ya, the tower with the Wind Lance seems most likely. It it a fairly thin, tall tower so would be easy enough to do in a $30 set. Of course it's missing Smaug to be used against... unless you buy the $130 Erebor set Quote
The Real Walkers Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Cheers everyone I had it in my head that there were three buildings....very odd... OR wishful thinking Quote
Fives Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I like the idea of the Battle of Five Armies set having the doors and statues of Erebor is a great idea. However, I would really love to see a set based on the snowy ruins of Dale. It has all of my favourite things about fantasy battle locations: snowy ruins made of stone. So I think I could give up the door and statues in favour of a different location. That means we'd have a wave with four sets based on four different locations, rather than two Erebor, one Lake-Town (which we've already got some of), and Dol Guldur, which we have plenty of. The more variety in locations is better than having something you could MOC is you so wished. Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 There are apparently 2 buildings representing dale ruins in the battle of the five armies set, according to toy fair reports from February. Perhaps that's where your confusion stems from? Quote

I would gladly shell out 100$ for some substantial Dale buildings, the main heroes from the battle, and a few grunts from each side. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 We know Bain's coming in the lake town bell tower set, but is he coming with the Ron Weasley hair piece like he had in the game? It doesn't look right on him, hopefully he comes with a new hair piece or one that looks better Quote

The Real Walkers Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Dale ruins you say?! I hope they do a good job!! Cannot wait for more pictures of the other sets!! Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) I think it makes a lot of sense for the Battle set to be a dale ruins one as that is where we have seen photos from so far. I'd imagine a lot of action takes place there judging by what we've seen. If they show footage at comic con tomorrow then hopefully as Jackson said there will be an internet teaser trailer to give us a better look at whats going down. I wonder if the production blogs will return as they obviously would either cover editing or reuse footage from the filming of the 3rd film. Either way we'll have details on what we could see soon hopefully. I say dale ruins because I swear someone who reported at London mentioned dale as the setting of the battle set. That sounds promising to me. Edited July 25, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
SMC Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 we know the price and number ofparts for the other 3 sets right? Quote
deskp Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Cheers everyone I had it in my head that there were three buildings....very odd... OR wishful thinking 1 laketown building, and 2 dale building. its 2 different sets. its just the original reporting was confusing ;) thats why it was in your head. Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) we know the price and number ofparts for the other 3 sets right? according to FBTb's original London toyfair report price wise: Dol Guldur: £11.99, Laketown tower £34.99, Battle of the five armies £59.99, Smaug lair (i'm not calling it the lonely mountain) £99.99. Not sure on pieces. Edited July 25, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote
deskp Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 The current Tatooine Luke Skywalker hair in dark brown would be ideal, but I fear that LEGO doesn't see how perfect it would be. Yeah. After the game released, i emailed LEGO about my ccomplaints about Galadriels hair, and linked them my flickr gallery to show them my point. that gallery also has Bain hair so they might have seen that too. But the game came out late march and the Video guy has had the smaug set since FEBRUARY. So I would imagine any attempt has been in vain. BUT lego set Bilbo is not the same print as video game bilbo. so so far the video game is 66/33 accurate to the sets Based on smaug and bard being accurate and Bilbo not. SO lets hope the game has more mistakes the sets wont have ! according to FBTb's original London toyfair report price wise: Dol Guldur: £11.99, Laketown tower £34.99, Battle of the five armies £59.99, Smaug lair (i'm not calling it the lonely mountain) £99.99. SMC Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 79015 Hobbit 5 - 101 pieces. $14.99 (USD) $15.99 (CAD) 79016 Hobbit 6 - 313 pieces. $29.99 (USD) $34.99 (CAD) 79017 Hobbit 7 - 471 pieces. $59.99 (USD) $84.99 (CAD) 79018 Hobbit 8 - 858 pieces. $129.99 (USD) $119.99 (CAD) just looked at first page but you all beat me to it, Laketown tower £34.99 is odd we don't really get £34.99 sets and I don't think I have ever seen a set cost more in £ than $ lego better not start doing that Quote
Deathleech Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 we know the price and number ofparts for the other 3 sets right? Look here. Page 66. Quote
Deathleech Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 That's the US and Canadian price, not the pound or euro price. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Oo! Excitment!! It's looking a lot better :) Does anyone know with the Oct 15th release date how earlier it could possibly be in stores? I remember last year they were out really early in comparison to the release date.. I'm asking cause I go to america from september to the 10th of august and would love to pick some up there.. :) Thanks Quote

Hopefully means more figures! Quote
deskp Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) the wave should have 16-17 figures. so thats 8-9 to share btween lake town and bo5a sets. (unique figures, no duplicates or reused figs counted) Edited July 25, 2014 by deskp Quote
legofreak86 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) the wave should have 16-17 figures. so thats 8-9 to share btween lake town and bo5a sets. (unique figures, no duplicates or reused figs counted) So that would possibly be like 5 in erebor, 3 in dol guldur, 4 in laketown and 5 in battle of five armies. Hopefully there are more figures than that I'd say. I'd say that the battle deserves 8 to itself as it is the largest event of the film and the flagship set is low on figures. Laketown tower I'd say 4-5 as the marvel sets at that price usually have that many and then dol guldur is 3 we know. That would be 20 figures which seems like a good number to me especially because the first hobbit wave had 30!!! Then the second wave had 20. If this had less that'd be disappointing as the sheer mutltitude of stuff in the third film and in the battle specifically demands at least 20 in an ideal world 30 figures would be in this wave like with the first wave.
