All of our magic speculation lists of what "absolutely positively has to be" in given sets almost never have any relation to what we get unless we get some solid piece of outside evidence.

@Faefrost: Of course a lot of our predictions turn out to be false, but speculating is still quite fun  Although, I'm really getting tired of all the guesswork instead of solid news, my patience is growing thinner all the same :hmpf_bad: I know we should be grateful for last week's reveal (and I certainly am), but that didn't satisfy my hunger, it was merely an appetizer

I know what will still our hunger my friend... All the sets right now :head_back:

But do know that might mean the very last piece of news we will ever get from The Hobbit line

and then it means that from this day we will have nothing new and nothing to share anymore

All sets revealed today probably means no news anymore...

Waiting is no fun but if that means having to come back to this thread every day i'll take that over the pictures :purrr:

When will we see the pics of the other sets? Somewhere mid August? I can't wait for the BOFA and lake town set! The smallest set is not that much of interest for me, maybe I will buy it for the figs.

BOFA set must have an Iron Hill dwarf (maybe 2x), Orc (maybe 2x), Dain, Elf (maybe 2x) and Warg or Eagle. Who said there were only like 5 figs in the set? Maybe we get 10 figs? It is supposed to be an army builder, right? For 60 dollars it is a very expensive armybuilder, so I guess we would get a lot of figs and animals. But apart from the figs, what will be included in the set?

Looking at the most comparable existing set, the Weathertop, it'll be only five minifigures of which two are practically confirmed to be named characters (Dain and Thorin).

Both sets have around 400 pieces and are priced around 60$. The weathertop had two horses as well, so lets hope for at least a Battle Ram.

That depends on the way the sets get revealed  There's at least three options: A) TLG will reveal them one by one on the product page, just like they did 2 years ago; B) they get unveiled via the new retailer catalogue that should hit the scene sometime in August (although this option would entail descriptions rather than pictures) and C) they'll be discovered on some website (like last year). I'm in favor of option B), that makes the reveal a lot more thrilling (depending on the quality of the descriptions of course)

I find option A the best, and it seems like they are going for that, as the smaug set is on the page already :classic:

Small set (or polybag) with Iron Hills dwarf + ram would be great (for fans but also for TLC), but this will never happen. :(

Who says? im quite sure we will get a Iron Hill dwarf polybag altough im not too sure it will include a Ram

Is there anywhere in Europe (the continent, not UK) where you can pick up those polybags, because I've never seen them around and they are way too expensive on amazon..

I would really like them to reveal a new set every week or two. Would be very exciting. We have had our fair share of vague descriptions, let's see pictures instead! :)

I look forward to the small set with Galadriel.. She might just be the best minifigure we get out of the entire Hobbit-series. Do you think she's gonna get a special cape, maybe similar to Storm?

An Iron Hill Dwarf polybag might be a possibility if we get a new minifigure for one in the Bo5A set. There is no way Lego would put a minifigure AND a molded ram in a polybag though. I don't think they have ever put a minifigure and large molded creature in a polybag before, have they? Usually it's just a small build, a minifigure, or a combination of the two.

I highly doubt Lego will make a new expensive ram mold for two reasons. One, Smaug is expensive so he probably used much of the budget and secondly we don't know when pj decided to use the rams. If lego designed the set over a year ago or more, chances are new designs won't be incorporated because Lego did not have them to see in production.

I also don't see BoFA's being another dwarf heavy set. We got 4 as it is in the Lonely Mountain. We also get at least 2 in BoFA, having two more generic Iron Hill soldiers would take up all of the spots of the set as we are likely only getting 5 minifigs. I agree with others who said that Dain, Armor Thorin, armor Thranduil and 2 orcs would make more sense. I would love more minifigs to have the generic Elf and Dwarf soldiers but it seems unlikely.

If LOTR is dead like we think, and given the crappiness of Erebor, this would be the ONE saving grace of the Tolkien line. They ain't as cool as armored Gondorians or Elves, but you take what you can get. We may never get to armybuild Gondorians, but if I can go out and buy hundreds of dollars worth of polybag Dwarves... hope... is kindled.

The Lego Monobrand Store here in Budapest, Hungary they sell the Hobbit polybags for reasonable price.

This would be great. I would also like to see an Orc polybag of some sort since the Uruk-hai is the only one we have ever gotten. The last two polybags with army building potential were just the Mirkwood Elves (which we got better versions of in the MEA set) and the Lake-town Guards. Both good guys. Totally off topic, but I really wish Lego would of put a single Gondor Soldier in the Black Gate set and then offered it as a polybag in wave 2. It would of tackled one of the biggest issues the LotR line currently has in one simple step.

I think Thranduil has made it's end, they have covered him so that's all good. i think they are going to make room for new characters

Dain

Thorin

1 Iron Hill dwarf

1 Elf (because it wont be the battle of the FIVE armies without one)

1 Orc

a battle Ram for Dain or the Dwarf Soldier to ride

They have covered Gandalf also and they reused him many times over.....

The Elf will most likely be Thraunduil not a generic Elf warrior I am 99% sure.... and we wont get 4 good guys and 1 orc....... it will be fairly similar in numbers........ if not the same!

good guys need someone to fight with, so if Dain and Thorin are liek 99 if not 100% you can expect minimal of 2 bad guys if not three, sicne I expect 6 figs 3:3 ratio 2 generic bad guys and 1 named and 3 named good guys..... just like the Black Gates. (switching Eagle for a named good guy)

I was aware of that... that was why i said im not too sure it will include a Ram

I'd rather get more figures than a ram, warg, bear or eagle. I suspect if there is a moulded creature it will be either a warg or an eagle, since Smaug, as people have said, has taken up a lot of the budget.

But to an extend smaug pays for itself. you pay 40$ for smaug alone when you buy the full set.

maybe I am the only one but I would be happy with the bear mold we already have
