kevkipo Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Continuing the use of marketing skills, they might put a big BOFA hero in Laketown so that people will buy Laketown to complete their battle character collection from BOFA, thus increasing sales for TLG. The same goes for the selection of dwarves and Bilbo that we get in Erebor, as they play a role in the battle as well. Very good point there, But Bard already is a big BOFA hero! Maybe they put Bofur in? (i hope ) It really is no problem to me, im still buying them all And i have a plan! since my Lego store is very up to date with America lately they'll probably end up having the sets at October 15th, so that's half of the sets for Christmas (It has kinda gotten a tradition to get The Hobbit sets for Christmas!) and the other half for the release date. i still have some VIP points left! Release date": Bo5A set + the Lake-Town / Baín set Christmas": The Lonely Mountain + Dol Guldur set Quote
deskp Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I was just thinking... who says it is a Lake-Town set? just because of Bain reports? well Bain is at the battle in Dale so... "There was a Lake Town Bell Tower set (name subject to change)" Quote

Shuebmabow Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 ...since my Lego store is very up to date with America lately they'll probably end up having the sets at October 15th,... I actually got the last 4 sets nearly a full week before my area's release date I guess pre-ordering can sometimes mean pre-receiving. This year, I have lots of money saved up to, yet again, pre order this wave, all at once. Depending on the quality and quantity of the characters in each set, I might order duplicates of either Laketown or BOFA, most likely the latter. Quote
Shroffy123 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Do you guys think lego will start unveiling the remaining sets this month Quote
Shuebmabow Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 Do you guys think lego will start unveiling the remaining sets this month I'm thinking late August/Early September, or possibly earlier. Last year, the sets were shown a month and a half before release, so the end of this month or beginning of the next would follow that pattern. Quote

A webshop or at your local Lego store? Quote

CardinalBricks Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) I despise that molded dragon, it looks like a McDonald's toy. They would have brick-built that 5 years ago. And why didn't they? It would allow Smaug to be an accurate size, and you wouldn't have a set that looks bad on the shelves (~800 pieces for $130). It would also allow for more articulation and playability. They do it all the time in Creator and Ninjago! Edited August 2, 2014 by BrickRally217 Quote
SandMirror38 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 any idea of how early these sets will be avalible to buy? Quote
SMC Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I love that molded dragon, its the star of the set and the wave Quote
legofreak86 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) I wonder what the master is going to do! Quick Alfrid throw a brandy at that creature! I'm looking forward to see him either knocked on his behind by smaug, running away girlishly screaming or as you suggest throwing a decanter at smaug! Is it odd that that is actually something that I would enjoy watching just for the comedic value. OH and forgot to mention. I saw a page of the new empire magazine today and Elrond was in it in armour!!!! The armour was gold and looked similar in design to his red one, it looked pretty awesome, he also seemed to have a olive green cape and maybe olive green robes underneath the armour. It was almost full body gold other than green accents. He was in dol guldur. http://heirsofdurin.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/emp914_3.png Edited August 3, 2014 by legofreak86 Quote

Darth Malgus Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Wow a couple of days worth of catch up on this thread and the conjecture is crazy. Personally I think I'm going to wait until October until the sets are released or pictures prior before I believe the set make up. Quote

Leg printing is remarkably similar but the blue accents from that one are not present nor is the silver bit at the top of the chest. It appears to be almost an identical version of the red armour only in gold. The legs on that figure however I think look quite accurate to this version. Do you know what would be cool. A peter Jackson figure in casual wear with his trademark white mug as an accessory. Maybe in a book or something. Quote
SMC Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Yeah we need another Peter Jackson fig before a gondor one :) Edited August 3, 2014 by SMC Quote
Agent Fusion Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Yep, that would be great. Maybe in a "Behind the Scenes" set? Quote
legofreak86 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Polybag maybe? Like the old studios one with Spielberg! That's what they should do for collectable minfigures. Directors. Like Spielberg, Jackson, Lucas, Zak Snyder, Joss whedon, Stan lee (not a director but would be cool), Bay (I joke), JJ Abrahams. But an exclusive hobbit polybag when you spend money on hobbit sets would be cool. Quote
kevkipo Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Now that you say... A Director series would be nice, Studio's also needs to come back Quote
Shuebmabow Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) I personally would rather have a dwarf or elf solider polybag, but one of the waves of the collectible minifigure packets that consists of famous directors or famous people related to famous movies would be nice.
