Dr.Cogg Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I know theres some rock walls in Erebor ,but most of them are carved smooth with gold veins, and the color of the columes should have been the same color as the Emerald night. P.S. I also think some emerald colored Dwarf Statue could have helped. Quote

I know there is an extremely small range of pieces in that color, but.. Edited August 5, 2014 by Shuebmabow Quote
Hypernova888 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I personally don't believe LotR is over. It only got two waves, and I think that LEGO would milk it for a bit more. I think that there wasn't a wave this year because this year's Hobbit sets are being released in October, and LotR's been previously released midsummer. I expect there to be at least another wave next year. Okay, I'm not really on topic, sorry about that. Quote
Shuebmabow Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) As has been pointed out already, we got a glimpse of their armored Fili and Kili variations in the 3ds Lego Hobbit Videogame. I decided to look for any further possible foreshadowings in the game. I found that the Blue Bilbo Variation we will get in The Lonely Mountain is in the game rather than the cheaper remake we saw in the PC version of the game. Also, Bolg's depiction changed considerably in this game variant. I took some screenshots. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5587/14661091467_0ef477cf7f_s.jpg https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3914/14867498623_6a856796ca_s.jpg https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5572/14660935390_7a012cac0d_s.jpg In the Laketown Armory, the dwarves have their movie-accurate River Scene clothing. I'm fairly confident that none of these could be in a future set, but it was still cool to see. https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3886/14847549432_be78b4a568_s.jpg Narzug had a different appearance in the cutscenes. I know that he appears with a different variation in trailers for the PC version, but it appears that TLG forgot to change Narzug's decals for the 3ds variant. We won't be seeing him in a set due to his death in DoS, but nevertheless, this was interesting to see. I'm not sure why this print was not used in the PC. Here's a photo. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5585/14824820076_a99c26176c_s.jpg (I am also aware that there was an Armored Thorin in the 3ds, which we should get in BOFA set, but that was already discussed in this forum.) I didn't look over the entire game, so there may be many more that I didn't get to finding. If the photos in this post are defective, I have uploaded them to my Flickr, so you can see them here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/125956731@N06/with/14824820076/ Edited August 7, 2014 by Shuebmabow Quote

Shuebmabow Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 It was a great figure. I wish they would still release it. as long as it didnt canibalize on another fig. In a way, lego not releasing the figure in the physical world isn't an issue if you print decals. But yes, another problem with our disappointingly sized last Hobbit wave is that when you get one character, you eliminate another.. Maybe some people could do another Hobbit set on Lego Ideas (I think that's what it's called...?) to try to get us some missing figs or a UCS set... I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't happen, but I think it could be worth a try...? Quote
deskp Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 In a way, lego not releasing the figure in the physical world isn't an issue if you print decals. Decals are no good, customs are no good, only real figs count. and we'd need the hair/beard piece anyways. Quote
Shuebmabow Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Decals are no good, customs are no good, only real figs count. Agreed, but I wouldn't be incredibly opposed to people using decals from Lego games, as those are designed by TLG as well. On the other hand, I dislike anything entirely custom. Quote

On the other hand, I dislike anything entirely custom. I personally only really dislike decals when they don't resemble LEGO's own style. For characters that we might not get, like Alfrid, I may end up making a custom with decals, but I don't think fans being able to make decald should be any sort of excuse to not put a figure in a set... BrickBob Studpants Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 @Shuebmabow: Thanks for the links! It never ceases to amaze me how much the portable versions of the LEGO games tend to diverge from the console/PC ones, especially in the character department (take a look at the Batman games for instance, the portable versions had tons of characters that never appeared elsewhere). Kinda weird that Bolg looks like that in the 3DS version, must have been due to time constraints It was a great figure. I wish they would still release it. as long as it didnt canibalize on another fig. Exactly. Since he got replaced by a regular orc in 79014, it only seems fair when a regular orc now gets replaced by him in return Throw him in 79017 and Bolg in 79016 and the problem is solved Quote
Robert_88 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) I heard that we will get a brick built Smaug! Edit: I guess they meant the regular set. SORRY! Edited August 8, 2014 by Robert_88 Quote
kevkipo Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I was thinking about the Bo5a DLC for the game, and i hope all Dwarves will get their new Armour instead of going the lazy route again just like with the "Purple Party" Altough i love the new armour for Dwalin, Balin, Kili, Fili etc I still want these tho: Quote

It would be pretty cool to have a brick-built Smaug... maybe Eurobricks could hold a contest where you have to build Smaug out of parts from Infernites Mixels! Quote

Sorry but that's not possible, 8 dwarves when there are only 3 more sets in the final hobbit wave? We already know that one set will not have any dwarves so it's the remaining two sets. Unless Bard, Galadriel, Elrond and the Witchking suddenly become dwarves we won't see the full company redesigned for the third movie Lego sets. We are also at least getting Dain so that's another dwarf taking up the increasingly shrinking character slots. I don't think BoFA is called Battle of the Dwarves and the other people. Quote

Mahtion Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I wish wave 3 was larger, so many designs we could see. Now I'm sounding like the LOTR thread lol. But honestly the first offense is no Sauron! Quote
Shroffy123 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Lol Mahtion we did get a Sauron fig last wave Quote
Lancethecat Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Lol Mahtion we did get a Sauron fig last wave Wait, are you talking about the Eye of Sauron or the Mouth of Sauron? Neither of them count as actual Sauron figures anyway. Quote
Deathleech Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Lol Mahtion we did get a Sauron fig last wave That Sauron looks NOTHING like his iconic armored self from the LotR prologue. I bet most people wouldn't even recognize that figure as Sauron if they weren't already Lego fans. He looks more like some sort of ghoul or radioactive ape. I really wish Lego would of modeled him off of what we see in DoS, he at least has his armor and more closely resembles the Sauron we all know and love. Then we could use him for all our cool LotR stuff too. Sorry but that's not possible, 8 dwarves when there are only 3 more sets in the final hobbit wave? Exactly. The smallest set probably has 3 minifigures, the $30 set probably has 4, and the 60 dollar Bo5A set probably has 5 figs (if the figure count is the same as the previous sets at those price points). That's 12 more minifigures. 8 dwarves would mean only 4 new minifigures. We know we are getting some new prints of existing characters like Bard though so that would mean even less new characters. That wouldn't work considering we are getting Bain, Galadriel, the Witch King, Elrond, and still need Dain and Bolg. Quote
Ardelon Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Wait, are you talking about the Eye of Sauron or the Mouth of Sauron? Neither of them count as actual Sauron figures anyway. I really wish Lego would of modeled him off of what we see in DoS, he at least has his armor and more closely resembles the Sauron we all know and love. Then we could use him for all our cool LotR stuff too. True, but its still a Sauron fig. And honestly, I think we all knew that a prologue set was only wishful thinking, even if LotR had three waves. But yes, a DoS Sauron would probably have solved this issue. Edited August 8, 2014 by Ardelon Quote
