kevkipo Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Kevkipo, I meant a store exclusive similar to the Orc Forge in LotR, That would be great too Quote

Wardancer Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Hmm. Cheap Elronds as an army builder, not bad. Tauriel is meh. Galadriels hair in blond is also good. Quote
SMC Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo Bard is the same as the last lake town ok there he is, but why so many figs we have already have and small sets, mostly a big let down Quote
Carlos S Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 CARLOS IS BACK! WE MISSED YOUR LEAKS BUDDY! LOL The sad thing is I'm never fast enough to actually buy one of this sets so early Quote
just2good Posted August 12, 2014 Author Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) LOL The sad thing is I'm never fast enough to actually buy one of this sets so early It's fine, thanks for the pictures man. Sad that the boxes aren't as good as the DoS wave myself. Oh, and which country was this in? Edited August 12, 2014 by just2good Quote
Robert_88 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks for the pictures!!! And unfortunately, the smallest set is the best one! Quote
Lynx Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Thanks a lot for sharing, Carlos! Unfortunately, seeing those images made feel like throwing up. What a terrible, utterly disappointing selection of minifigs! Two more Bards in the same outfit as in the last wave. Another Legolas and Tauriel (albeit with alternative torso). Another Azog. More orcs. Another eagle. No Beorn, no generic dwarves/ Esgaroth guards/ armoured elves, no ram, no Bolg… Wow, just wow! I'm actually shocked at how poor these look. The only positives are Thorin (with crown) and Dain. The Lake-town set will blend in nicely with the last one. The others are yet another pile of rocks and another catapult. And to make the end of the Middle-earth line even more painful, the smallest set has the title of one that should include a fell beast, an armoured Witch-king and Eowyn. Quote

Two more Bards in the same outfit as in the last wave. Actually, the Bard in 79017 is the one from SDCC, I think. But yeah, pretty poor sets and minifigure choices. Smallest set is the only one I could call a great set. Quote
Robert_88 Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Yes, when I see these sets I'm convinced we won't get anything else from Middle Earth. They obviously don't care too much about this theme. Quote
Blakstone Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 Well, the ad in the back of Hobbit wave 2 said that the adventure concludes this year. Still, I take some hope in Dain. LEGO likes to reuse molds and I hope his helm shows up in a polybag. The only set I love out of this entire wave is the Witch-King Battle though I will likely, over time, get them all. Quote
KristofBD Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 (edited) Is it me or does Bard also feature in the Battle of the five armies set? May be his torso is different there? Also it seems a part of that set is still missing. Would be great to see that part as well! I love the new hair for the orcs, think the lake town set is pretty ok and like the catapult a lot. Shame indeed that there is so much overlap regarding the figs (no Bolg?!). But no additional Bilbo or Gandalf, that's good. Smallest set is indeed the best. Edited August 12, 2014 by KristofBD Quote

Dr.Cogg Posted August 12, 2014 Posted August 12, 2014 So far these sets look sad and it looks like the Smaug set and the smallest set look the best, but we still haven't seen the rest of the building in the battle of five Armies set. Quote
Darth Malgus Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Wow, what a let down, was hoping for epic if the series was ending, this is rather disappointing... Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 It looks like Azog has a new angry face expression. And tauriel has the brighter green torso from the game. Bain has a very inaccurate hair piece, but i like his torso. The new orc hair piece looks great, i hope Legolas has a new face expression because it looks like he has the same torso from the mirkwood spiders set. Bard from comic con is in the battle of five armies set. Its a shame that were not getting beorn in bear form, but if people got the city bear mold than they pretty much have him. Can't wait to see the rest of the battle of five armies set. Quote
Blazej_Holen Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) Huge let down. So much potential since thus is meant to be last wave of Hobbit series and "epic" conclusion to dwarven journey. What are THESE? + Witch King Elrond Dain (his helmet) Armoured Thorin Possibly armored Bard (in BOFA set?) Orc´s hairpieces - Design of sets (all of them) lack of new characters we desperately need (Bolg, Beorn in bear form, Thranduil in armour, war Ram/Pig...) lack of soldiers (is that the great battle of five armies? Thats a battle of five characters most likely...) Usseles things like Legolas Greenleaf, recycled old Mordor orcs It seems that TLG did not their best with those sets, maybe because they want to finish that and throw it behind their bag. So that could indicate that Middle earth is done. Maybe there will be some Exclusive set on spring/summer 2015 but I have not so big hope in that as I had a while ago. Big let down, I am truly dissapointed. I will buy them all, but it will be only Smaug set that I keep assembled and mod it little bit. Resto of those crabs will be used to create something proper. Howk! Edited August 13, 2014 by Blazej_Holen Quote
atreyu2112 Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 First, thanks for posting the pictures! I might be in the minority, but I like all the sets except BotFA, but we cant see the whole set. It looks like there is a building or some sort of structure to the right. Witch King Battle ... perfect! Attack On Lake Town ... awesome add-on to the Lake Town Chase, but why another Bard & Tauriel here? That's my only gripe. Battle of the Five Armies ... We can't see the whole set, so I can pass judgement yet, but this set is a big let down because of the minifigure selection. No BOLG??? Another Legolas & Azog? Should have been a dwarf warrior & Bolg. I don't mind Bard here because it's the SDCC version. The Lonely Mountain ... I like it a lot. I really wasn't expecting more. Maybe another minifigure or 2, but all in all a very cool set. So my main complaint is the minifigure choices! And I can't wait to see the rest of TBotFA set. Quote
Darth Punk Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Looks like the accounting department designed these sets. Yes, when I see these sets I'm convinced we won't get anything else from Middle Earth. They obviously don't care too much about this theme. If this doesn't nothing will. They are clearly just fulfilling their obligations. I can see it being a short run. I am happy to be getting a witch king of any kind. Quote
Infernum Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) That laketown set is... a let down. The BoFA set looks like it could have potential, but really, rehash Legolas? A new orc hairpiece?! Why not a helmet, or armor?! Edited August 13, 2014 by Infernum Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 (edited) There will most likely be a orc poly bag Edited August 13, 2014 by amazingbricks Quote
Deathleech Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Yes, when I see these sets I'm convinced we won't get anything else from Middle Earth. They obviously don't care too much about this theme. My thoughts exactly. It seems like after the first waves for the LotR and Hobbit Lego just kind of let these themes fall to the wayside. There just doesn't seem to be near as much effort put into them, almost like the budget was significantly cut or something. This third (and most likely final) Hobbit wave is mostly just re-hashed characters with a few new prints. The builds are mostly uninspired. Bard is in two sets, Legolas and Azog are re-hashes from wave two, there is the same eagle we have seen in a few sets now, and four more orcs with the same prints (albeit with new hair in one set, which I guess is a plus.. though armor would of been MUCH better). Where are the armored soldiers? The Iron Hill Dwarves, the Mirkwood Elves, the Orcs in armor? Where is bear Boern? Where is Bolg? Armored Thranduil? Where is Alrid or war rams? Why were these characters not made instead of all those crummy re-hashes? The only saving grace is the smallest Witch King Battle set. It actually looks like a decent build with great minifigures. The Lake-town build also seems decent enough. The minifigure count seems fairly high for the price points as well (each set has at least one more minifigure than the past sets at each price point, with the Bo5A set having two more). From what we can see of the Bo5A build though, it looks atrocious. Most of it's a huge catapult and a small bridge/arch connected to a tower? Really? This set could of had so much potential but Lego squandered it all away. Quote
