Seaber Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Assuming this is the last wave, I think we could get up to four polybags. Polybag wise, I'm hopeful for Dain/Iron Hill Dwarf and a Gundabad Orc if we were to get two with this wave, released through The Sun promotions or however they work around the world. We could also get one with the BO5A DVD/Blu Ray release. The fourth could come if and when Lego release a Hobbit game with all three films on the same disc, and maybe with some bonus content as with the Star Wars Complete Edition. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Everyone goes on bout a Bolg for a S@H exclusive but HOW would it be done? I was thinking maybe Maul's head piece on a new print head with the gundabad Armour and new prints? What's everyone else's thinking? Quote
SMC Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I wound not be surprised if we dont get anything more now from this line Quote

I was thinking maybe Maul's head piece on a new print head with the gundabad Armour and new prints? What's everyone else's thinking? Maul's head piece wouldn't make much sense because Bolg definitely isn't a Zabrak The way I see it, we have two options: A) regular minifig head with printing (like in the video game, minus the headpiece) plus the Gundabad orc armor in new colours (tan and black) or B) Azog's headpiece with excessive printing (i.e. the bear claws would need to be printed as well). Mahtion Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I wound not be surprised if we dont get anything more now from this line Ditto. I don't foresee any polys. If so it would be easy repacks like Orc or Bard. Highly doubt Lego would give us the two most important exclusives of the limited new prints in BoFA. So no Dain, no Thorin. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I mean in chrome silver for the head piece with maybe printing then on the head? Not a bad idea actually, but it'd probably look too much like a crown Besides, the piece itself is probably considered to be a property of Lucasfilm/Disney and may thus not be used elsewhere Quote
deskp Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Maul headpiece on Bolg makes no sense in any way. much preferrably with jsut a printed head at that point. Quote
kevkipo Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Good luck dreaming polybags guys :) People can have dreams right? I still love Dain from the Bo5a set, the only very little problem i have with him is that he has Dwalin's beard Quote

deskp Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I still love Dain from the Bo5a set, the only very little problem i have with him is that he has Dwalin's beard Why is that a problem when we haven't seen waht he looks like in the movie? Quote
Alfadas Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Indeed, I have re-watched the trailer, but didn't see him. So I really hope to see the official pics soon. Quote
kevkipo Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 (edited) Why is that a problem when we haven't seen waht he looks like in the movie? Well i was hoping for a new beard for him, he now looks like Dwalin with a helmet to me But thats no biggy, i still love him Edited August 20, 2014 by kevkipo Quote
LegoLOTR Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I hope for Dwarf-solider and Bolg, but they will probably give us Tauriel ( )/Balin or other of Company, and generic Orc/Man/Elf... Quote
Steph 104th Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 One of Thorins 13 in their armour would also be a nice polybag, like armoured Nori. Quote
Deathleech Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 People can have dreams right? I still love Dain from the Bo5a set, the only very little problem i have with him is that he has Dwalin's beard Yes people can have dreams, but they also need to be realistic about what we may actually get. If not they will just be let down. Look at the third Hobbit wave for example. People were expecting a Bo5A set to be this huge $60 army builder full of cool armored soldiers and with tons of new molds, prints, and creatures. Instead we got a few new prints, no new soldiers (just re-hashed orcs), and an eagle. Thorin, Bard, and Dain seem to be the highlight while Azog, Legolas, and the orcs seem to be a huge disappointment. Now look at how people are rampantly speculating about the polybags. "I think we will get Bolg as a S@H exclusive", "I think we will get four polybags since this is the end of the theme", "I think we will get an Iron Hill Dwarf polybag!". What makes people think we will get ANY of this based on past polybags? We have to be at least a little realistic or we will be massively let down. Lego has seemingly put less and less investment into their Middle-Eath themes so I don't see a S@H exclusive actually happening. Furthermore they seem to generally give us good guys as exclusives... Elrond, Bilbo(s), Gandalf, Legolas, etc. I don't think Bolg is really a huge priority for Lego seeing as he hasn't really done anything of importance in the films. I feel as if PJ basically gave Azog all of Bolg's main traits and roles in the film and has treated Bolg like more of a low rank henchman. I would guess we will get three polybags at most, like every other wave, not four. We might get two a few months after the final wave is released and then one more next year when Bo5A comes to home release. Honestly though, I wouldn't count on this. Who knows if the license will have expired by the time Bo5A comes to DVD/Blu-Ray? Why would Lego release a figure for it when they havn't had any new LotR/Hobbit sets in months? Why would Lego release even normal promo polybags with the wave when they didn't for the second LotR wave? I could easily see Lego opting to skip doing any polybags this time around, especially with their seeming lack of interest in the theme. Lastly there is the Iron Hill Dwarf polybag theory. While possible, I dunno if it seems that likely. We did get one poolybag before that used random pieces from other figures to create a "new" one with the Mirkwood Elf Guard polybag. However, that used a generic green hood and the rest of the minifigure was the elf from the Barrel Escape set. We also got a proper Mirkwood Elf scout/soldier in the next wave. I am not sure Lego would use "unique" heads/beards/helms to create a random soldier that isn't even available in their normal line up. Still, I wouldn't rule out the possibility, I just don't think it very likely. That leaves the most likely candidates for polybags the Gundabad Orc, and then one of the main heroes from the story. Lego seems to like to stick minifigures from cheaper sets in their polybag (usually in the $13-30 range), so I too doubt Thorin or any other dwarves will be in there. Thorin is a huge selling point of the Bo5A set. Bilbo also seems unlikely as well. The most likely seem candidates seem like Bard, maybe Bain, or Tauriel. Quote
Blakstone Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 LEGO did use a unique hat with printing for the Laketown Guard. So I don't think that would be much of an impact for an Iron Hills Dwarf polybag. I agree that an orc is more likely as LEGO is about giving us more named heroes and more adversaries, not unnamed allies. LEGO said that they are treating The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings as a separate but related line. The fact that LotR wave 2 did not have any polybags did not stop Hobbit wave 2 from having them later. Isn't the exclusive figure with the Bluray a Target exclusive in the US? If so, it is up to Target to continue that if they chose. The switch of an exclusive Bilbo to a rehash of Legolas does not bode well though. Quote
kevkipo Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 One of Thorins 13 in their armour would also be a nice polybag, like armoured Nori. If we would get another armoured dwarf (wich i highly doubt) it would be Bofur, he plays the biggest role after Balin, Dwalin, Kili and Fili. Yes people can have dreams, but they also need to be realistic about what we may actually get. If not they will just be let down. Look at the third Hobbit wave for example. Well, we did get a Lake-Town guard polybag in the last wave. Wich was VERY suprising everything on it was new, and in the movie the LT guards where only in the Background, while the Iron Hill soldiers will play a much bigger role in Bo5a! And have you even seen their helmets? If you look closely at Dain in the Bo5a set you see that his new helmet has some Gold printing on it, They can easily keep that printing away and use Dwalin's beard, And there you have your Iron Hill Soldier polybag! I think there is a very high change of getting a Iron Hill soldier Polybag Quote
SMC Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 But the lake town guard was the same as in the set Quote
Blakstone Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 He is but the hat is only used twice. Once in that set and once in the Laketown Chase. So it would not be unreasonable for a polybag to have Thorin with his new crown. It would be a reuse from this wave. Quote
SMC Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 But the only change we have so far for a poly is a hood instead of hair Quote
Jason7189 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 I am almost certain that one of the polybags will be an orc. The other one, personally I think will be Bilbo. Because we haven't got a Bilbo polybag yet. ( if your not counting old Bilbo ) Quote
LegoLOTR Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 What Old Bilbo? Most people would not like another Bilbo, but I would! Quote
Jason7189 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Wasn't there an old Bilbo polybag with one of the Hobbit Bluray versions? Quote
