Gibbon Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) We have all the new Hobbit sets available here in Hungary in one of the biggest Lego stores. I just ordered them in their webshop (with 2-3 days delivery) today and they called me in less than 2 hours and told that my order is ready for pick up in their store. Hurray!!! bachamn Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I'm also hoping for Old Bilbo if we get a DVD release, but I think based on what we could potentially get, we should probably call it 'Middle-aged Bilbo', since 'Old Bilbo' should technically refer to the way he appears after giving up the Ring ( as he is seen in Rivendell in FotR and later on the journey to Valinor in RotK). He doesn't take on the white-haired elderly appearance at all in the Hobbit films so I think it's unlikely we'll get that version. Ultimately though I agree that it doesn't appear likely that we'll get any polybags this time unless they're planning on making it a surprise for some reason.Could the lack of a new figure on the line-up possibly mean that they'll release a polybag with a previously released figure? Was the Legolas polybag from wave 2 itemized? I can't recall if he was listed in the instructions separately. Quote
Blakstone Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Even identical minifigs from the polybags were shown again in the checklist. Look for the set number under each minifig. Quote
LegoLOTR Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 What shop in Hungary? I may go there in few weeks... Quote
kevkipo Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Did you call a shop? Which country? What Country do you live in Quote
Gibbon Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 What shop in Hungary? I may go there in few weeks... The mentioned shop is is Kockaáruház (http://www.kockaaruhaz.hu/?gclid=CKWlqLDYrMECFSuWtAodGCQAWA) and the very sets are: http://www.kockaaruhaz.hu/79015-lego-hobbit-a-boszorkanykiraly-csataja-79015-7859.html/hun/ http://www.kockaaruhaz.hu/79016-lego-hobbit-tamadas-tovarosnal-79016-7860.html/hun/ http://www.kockaaruhaz.hu/79017-lego-hobbit-az-ot-sereg-csataja%E2%84%A2-79017-7861.html/hun/ http://www.kockaaruhaz.hu/79018-lego-hobbit-a-maganyos-hegy-79018-7862.html/hun/ Usually they do not have every set on the shelf so you need to make an online order and it takes 2-3 days to be packed together for the pick up, but today it worked with same day pick up which means they have the sets on stock at the moment. I do not know if you are familiar with Budapest but the shop is close to the Eastern railway station. Quote
Bycougars Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 For any of you Lego Hobbit/LOTR fans here is a Minas Tirith https://ideas.lego.com/projects/36275 set that I have found on Lego Ideas that I think you might like. Might be our best chance at getting a Lego Minas Tirith. Quote

kevkipo Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 And talking about The One ring: Here is what we could've gotten: Let's all be serious does this require a new mold?? DOES IT?! Quote
Blakstone Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 They could just use the existing shoulder pads and a regular head to make this. If so, it is just new prints for the head, torso, and legs. Quote
Hammerhand Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I never noticed, but the metal plates are sticking out of his ribs... Why the heck would you have metal plates protruding from your torso? Ok, as to would a new mould be required, I don't really think so. I agree with Blackstone that all you really need is a new print, and maybe throw in some shoulder pads to make him feel bigger. Quote
Hypernova888 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 KIND OF BREAKING NEWS: I got my Holiday 2014 catalog today and all four of the sets were in it! Which means LEGO aknowledges their existence! Also, they look really cool on the backgrounds. Quote
bachamn Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) I never noticed, but the metal plates are sticking out of his ribs... Why the heck would you have metal plates protruding from your torso? Assuming a mutilation/rite of passage type thing. The same reason Azog is covered in scars. I think it's a very orcish, albeit disgusting, detail :) Edited October 14, 2014 by bachamn Quote
cullmancreations Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 when is the catalog supposed to be out Quote
Blakstone Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 The October calendar says it is supposed to be out today. Quote
cullmancreations Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Well I waited for my postman to come and when he did no Lego catalog to be found Quote

Artanis I Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Hold on didn't one of the star wars books have an exclusive clone trooper whose helmet was an exclusive mold. I would much rather see an old Bilbo though than Sauron The helmet also exists in other sets with a different print... I never noticed, but the metal plates are sticking out of his ribs... Why the heck would you have metal plates protruding from your torso? Doesn't make sense from a combat perspective, get a good blunt object uppercut swing into the ribs and it's "goodbye chest". Like chiseling wood. Any hard impact would just tear the flesh open - it isn't hard skin like elephants etc. What is the life expectancy of an orc? 2 spars? Quote
Mr. Cube Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 "Why the heck would you have metal plates protruding from your torso?" Because Peter Jackson said something like "cool" (looking at the Bolg design model). Quote

Any hard impact would just tear the flesh open - it isn't hard skin like elephants etc. What is the life expectancy of an orc? 2 spars? I know, that's like the first thing I thought when I saw that. I was like, "one good hit and he's a goner". If he even falls over and hits his chest too hard, he'll bisect his heart... Not to mention how he avoided doing that in the first place... "Why the heck would you have metal plates protruding from your torso?" Because Peter Jackson said something like "cool" (looking at the Bolg design model). Yup. That's probably what happened. Don't get me wrong, I actually like the way they designed bolg for the most part, but those chest plates... Quote
