Hypernova888 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Aside from Bolg...the sets are now all on Shop.LEGO.Com! Quote
kevkipo Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) Well then. Better get em today EDIT: Sorry but... i can't find them online? Edited October 15, 2014 by kevkipo Quote
Artanis I Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 So I went through checking each region and in the space of a few minutes it went from only available in Canada so far to available everywhere (I think). At last, I can finish off this year's collecting! Well then. Better get em today EDIT: Sorry but... i can't find them online? Which country? Try again. They weren't showing for me 5 minutes ago but are now. Quote
mrbean Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I had a look at the Battle of 5 armies set, and the set doesn't match well with its name. What's the point of the tower? I remember this battle happening on a field, they should have built more siege weapons or field defenses. This is also supposed to depict massive armies clashing, so where are they? I see 3 bad guys attacking 5 good guys, seems they're in for a beating as the good guys have 2 bows to take them out. Maybe I'll like it better after seeing the movie, but my first impression is not impressed. This set seems the most pointless of all the hobbit sets. Quote
bachamn Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) I mean, sure it's not practical, but I wouldn't bother questioning the logic of anyone wearing a loin cloth made of faces. Edited October 15, 2014 by bachamn Quote
Artanis I Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I mean, sure it's not practical, but I wouldn't bother questioning the logic of anyone wearing a loin cloth made of faces. But a bigger question is this: why does he have a belly button? Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Yeay, they're even available in Germany and Switzerland! So I was worrying for nothing there Quote
Cammo Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Seems like I'll wait for an Amazon discount, the Benelux prices are steep on the Lego Online Shop: Witch-King: 18.00 EUR Lake-Town: 45.00 EUR Bo5A: 80.00 EUR Erebor: 140.00 EUR Yikes! I'll get them eventually though. Quote
kevkipo Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Yeay, they're even available in Germany and Switzerland! So I was worrying for nothing there I'm happy for you man Quote
AFOLguy1970 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Aside from Bolg...the sets are now all on Shop.LEGO.Com! Tried to log in this morning before work and buy the Lonely Mountain. It will not go to the shopping site. The way is shut. Since my work blocks the Lego site, it will be a long wait before trying again today. Quote
SMC Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Since my work blocks the Lego site. Do they have a big problem with people spending all day on it Quote
Zulithe Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Thankfully ordered (and received my confirmation e-mail, phew) Erebor from S@H last night before the shop seemingly died. Now I own every Hobbit set except for Battle of the Five Armies. I will place an order for it on Nov 1st with some filler items to get Holiday Set 2 of 2. It's been a fun ride for us Tolkien fans if these turn out to be the end. I will forever be happy that we got so many. I just wish TLG would evergreen more licenses than just Star Wars. Hobbit/LotR could give us so much more. Quote
Hypernova888 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 So I went through checking each region and in the space of a few minutes it went from only available in Canada so far to available everywhere That makes sense, because my phone was weirdly stuck on the canadian version. Quote
bachamn Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) But a bigger question is this: why does he have a belly button? According to Tolkien, orcs "reproduce in the same fashion as the Elves". So...they have sex and make baby orcs. I mean Bolg is Azog's son ya know. I just wish TLG would evergreen more licenses than just Star Wars. Hobbit/LotR could give us so much more. I hear ya...I just finished reading through Silmarillion for the second time. I mean, I don't need anyone to tell me that in the real world they would never make Silmarillion sets because clearly the license going evergreen will never happen, but the source material is so rich and vast they would never run out of amazing fantasy scenes to create. Tirion, Gondolin, Utumno, Thousand Caves, Grey Havens, Numenor... Also curious, whats the main draw for ordering online from the LEGO website? Is it just the holiday sets or do they have some sort of customer loyalty program I don't know about? Never bought from their store before. Edited October 15, 2014 by bachamn Quote
Blakstone Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 LEGO has a loyalty program called VIP for both Shop@Home and the brand stores. There are rare times a year, such as October, where they double VIP points. Normally, you earn $5 for each $100 you spend. Right now you earn $10. That makes it worth the drive for me on big ticket purchases. Smaller sets I just buy locally. I am considering getting Smaug from Amazon in a few months where I can likely save $20+ on it. Quote
Hypernova888 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I'm so excited for The Lonely Mountain, because double VIP points and the winter exclusive toy shop! I'm also finally buying Lake-Town chase! It's gonna be a really fun building day. ^U^ EDIT: Ooh! The site's back up! Second EDIT:AWESOME! The DoS poster from last year is a free add-on too! Quote

azog15 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Sorry, the file was too big. I just put the link Quote

Massive armies of good and evil folks? Regiments of armored elves with Lake Town rag tag next to several eagles and tons of orcs? :D Dont be funny.... Quote

It would do a lot better if they would put more focus on the creatures and army builders. If this is the end, it was a good run while it lasted. Quote
TheRedViper Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I wish we could have gotten this Azog. http://goo.gl/RL5Tav Dayum that Azog is awesome! Quote

There have been plenty of sets with a wall/tower in this theme, I'm just not that excited about this one. My memory of the book is that the battle took place in the fields where the armies were camped, and not around some tower. A few more bad guys and another siege weapon would've been nice. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I could see armored azog as a shop at home promotion in December. I remember reading about getting an armored azog so we could maybe get him. Quote
