Ardelon Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Sauron ... simple, like this: *snip* Would need a head mold. Done. Could put him out as a polybag. 2 versions... grey prologue and fire color variant. Nah, that would be too big for Sauron. Its not like he was 4-5 times taller that the Elves and Men. This would make him taller than a troll or around the size of an Ent. Quote

I think woody legs/arms, shoulder armour, a cape and a new moulded helmet would work, but like that's ever gonna happen...=S Quote

Hes about the same height as movie Beorn. I think the lego game might have twisted peopels perception. Quote
Artanis I Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 spoiler tags or at least a notice would have been nice folks. My guess is most of us haven't seen the EE yet since it's not really released. I agree. This thread unfortunately spoiled the upcoming movie 9 months ago, too. So does the Ee explain why we got a Beorn fig in DGA, because i really dont understand that. Unless the EE explains that im still chalking it up to Lego wanted to put Beorn in a set and decides that was the only place. No it doesn't. Maybe BOFA will, otherwise it's your latter assumption. The extra bits in EE: More of Gandalf in Dol Guldur, including Thrain & Sauron, and flashbacks. More of Beorn meeting the company. Quite funny. More of the company in Mirkwood. More of Laketown master and public debate. That's all I remember. Only 20 minutes added. Quote
bachamn Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) I, for one, want to thank you for the EE clip links, legofreak86! to be clear, I don't have an issue with people linking to videos, as I don't have to click them just as I'd been avoiding the others. Just like I wouldn't have clicked the "spoiler" tag in the post had they been used. The issue I had was people watching them, and feeling it was necessary to come back and discuss them, in detail. I fail to see the functional purpose of that; you're describing what you saw? Thanks so much for sharing, but you're adding nothing to the conversation. The only thing you accomplish by doing this, without declaring spoilers, is revealing the new scenes to others who haven't seen it yet. Awareness and consideration; that's all I'm pointing to here. So does the Ee explain why we got a Beorn fig in DGA, because i really dont understand that. My assumption is that this was another set that was supposed to coincide with the "second" film before the split into three? It makes sense for them to have him taking part in the White Council attack on Dol Guldur in the third film, which would be where he reunites with Gandalf on the way to the Battle of Five Armies. I've still not seen it but I can't think of anywhere that having Beorn assaulting DG could fit in to the of DoS EE. Edited October 24, 2014 by bachamn Quote

cullmancreations Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 (edited) I just walked into a local toy shop by me that I didn't think much of and I hadn't checked out in a long long time. I walk in and they still have some of the sets from the line up of the first Hobbit and LOTR wave. Goblin King Battle, Attack of the Wargs, Mirkwood spiders, riddles for the ring. and a first wave LOTR set like Mines of Moria. I thought they phased out these sets like over a year ago. They did, but sometimes those smaller toy stores have sets like those for awhile because their turnover isn't what it is at your stores like Target and wal-mart. Quote
cullmancreations Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 I don't have a Target or Wal-mart near me in NYC but I go to Lego stores and TRU and a K-mart because those are the easiest and most convienent to get too and all of those are in Manhattan so just a walk or a quick train ride. Quote
Deathleech Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 This is a local Target's display of the new Hobbit sets... and people are wondering if they are selling well? Quote

bachamn Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Yep that's what my target looks like. Though here the WKB sets are fully stocked Quote
cullmancreations Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Maybe and this is a speculation but if this wave of the Hobbit sells well do you think Lego might want to make one last wave of LOTR? Quote
Zulithe Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 One of my Targets doesn't have them, but it's a smallish store. The other has all 3 of the ones they carry (aka no Erebor/Smaug) and they are put on the shelf correctly so everyone can see them. They actually sold out of the Witch King set last week (they had at least 10 of them when they first stocked) but they restocked it a few days ago. Sales will pick up a little once the movie hits. I doubt it will be enough to convince LEGO to do more waves though. Quote
kevkipo Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Maybe and this is a speculation but if this wave of the Hobbit sells well do you think Lego might want to make one last wave of LOTR? Yes, but it needs to sell very very well Quote
Ardelon Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Maybe and this is a speculation but if this wave of the Hobbit sells well do you think Lego might want to make one last wave of LOTR? Probably not; they plan waves well in advance, before they would have sales figures for this wave. I guess it could happen if the license had several more years left (and even then, sales figures for The Hobbit dont necessarily convey interest in LotR)... Quote
SirBlake Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 The other has all 3 of the ones they carry (aka no Erebor/Smaug)... Are you saying that no Targets carry the Smaug set? Quote
TheLegoDr Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 So far at 2 Targets near me I've seen the Witch King Battle and Lake Town. Nothing at Wal-Mart yet and TRU might have had the BO5A set, but I don't remember. But I do know there was nothing else Middle Earth related in the LEGO aisle. I found that odd. I just don't think stores have received much stock, probably from the waning interest in the theme. It does seem silly to release the sets that much earlier than the actual movie, it'll be like Lone Ranger all over again...but maybe that will be a good thing for people wanting deals. Bad thing for people wanting future sets. Quote
cullmancreations Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) My Local TRU in times square has Unexpected gathering,Barrel escape, the entire second wave of LOTR, Hobbit and all the sets from the new Hobbit Line. Edited October 25, 2014 by cullmancreations Quote
K-Nut Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 So far at 2 Targets near me I've seen the Witch King Battle and Lake Town. It was the same thing at my Target when I checked this afternoon. Didn't even look like there was a spot for them, just kinda thrown into the shelving last minute. Quote
just2good Posted October 26, 2014 Author Posted October 26, 2014 This is a local Target's display of the new Hobbit sets... and people are wondering if they are selling well? Looks exactly like one of my Target's. This isn't in Florida, right? Quote
