Dr.Cogg Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I have all the new hobbit sets, except BoFA(I'll wait for it to go on sell), I found the Smaug set at Fred Meyer and got 10% off and I found three of the sets at Target. Quote
SandMirror38 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Slighlty off topic.. I built Laketown Attack today (Love the tower and the figs!) and was trying to figure out a display of it next to Laketown Chase, but couldn't come up with something that I liked the look of.. Has anyone seen any or has any ideas of how to make them look cool etc? I don't mind modding the sets slightly.. Thanks Quote
K-Nut Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) I've seen this layout which I thought looked good. My personal setup has the smaller part from Laketown Chase (where Bard is standing) where the larger part (Tauriel) is and then I have a gap between the two for Bard's boat to go through. Works well enough for me. Edited October 26, 2014 by K-Nut Quote

mrbean Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) Oh my Drool , see those big hairy creatures? I'm so gonna MOC those Looks awesome. It's kind of depressing that these latest sets didn't come with a troll though. Yes, we get Smaug, and I'll pay an arm and a leg for that set. But to justify the price of the Bo5A set they should've thrown in a bigfig. As it stands I'm really having a hard time with the price of it, there's no wow factor like in the above picture. I've come up with a few ideas but really need to see some others ideas to get more ideas. Thanks! Quote
Cammo Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) I just purchased 'The Witch-King Battle' & 'The Lonely Mountain' sets. Only 2 sets to go to complete the collection. This is my collection currently on display: I didn't take pictures of Orthanc, Helm's Deep and my unfinished Lake-Town though. The Necromancer is behind the courtyard statue. Alfadas Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Nice display, love the Dol Guldur set up, very nice! Quote
Risgrynsgrot Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Cool display! I like how you have all the fellowship in the Mines of Moria, and the dwarves in front of the Bag End. I'd like pics on your other displays too, even the unfinished one! Quote
Cammo Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) Thanks guys! I know these are heavy pictures but I can't seem to get them in a smaller resolution. I really should get a Flickr account or something... (Don't mind the dusty cabinets) And I know it's not the perfect topic for this but here's a semi-overview of my current collection: Edited October 26, 2014 by Cammo Quote
cullmancreations Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Very cool. I like how you were able to find a place for the riddles for the rings set to really blend in with the goblin king battle set. Quote
kevkipo Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Very nice Cammo! Smaug always draws my attention, wherever he is Quote

gdugaucquier Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) After seeing the EE, I would love to make my own Thrain, but i can't decide what hairpiece i should use. SPOILER: Bifurs (got my dwarves wrong) hair is perfect for Dol Guldur, but what hair do I best use for the prologue? Btw I've made Thror and he really looks great. I shall post a picture of him, but perhaps this is not the right topic to do so. Edited October 26, 2014 by gdugaucquier Quote

I don't know what they'll be doing with the battle in the film, but from the book a great 'bigfig' to have included in the set would have been Beorn in bear form. He plays quite a crucial role in the battle and we've had his humanform minifig. Quote

K-Nut Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I'm not sure I understand sorry.. Could you post a picture please? Laketown Setup by K-nut16, on Flickr That's how I have mine. I haven't done much experimenting with it, though. There's probably some better options. Quote
Borador Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 Okay, those displays are awesome, Cammo. And very well photographed. Did you do something to that Ent, or is that what it normally looks like? I don't think I've ever seen it close up. Quote
