Never mind, I'm posting them now!

This is my Tolkien collection. The pictures aren't nearly as good as Cammo's, because my good camera's out of battery, and my phone's camera has been focusing strangely as of late. (I might take some better ones later.) To top it all off, I couldn't get the lighting to look very good across the wide space it takes up because it's nighttime where I live. XP

Maybe and this is a speculation but if this wave of the Hobbit sells well do you think Lego might want to make one last wave of LOTR?

On 10/25/2014 at 2:35 PM, kevkipo said:

Yes, but it needs to sell very very well

No. Too late. The sets releasing next year would already be set in stone. Releasing anything the following year would be too big a gap.

Probably not; they plan waves well in advance, before they would have sales figures for this wave.

Yours are laid out a bit nicer than mine, and the glass cabinets also make quite a difference! I notice that Elrond is at your Helm's Deep too...

On another note, I just FINALLY bought LEGO The Hobbit, LotR (Which I already have), the big/little character pack and like two other Tolkien games from Steam for like $10.00! The offer ends in about three hours, so if you're interested you should act fast!!!

Hell yeah they are. very handy

To those who have gotten their hands on The Lonely Mountain set, if you could tell me exactly how many pieces is Smaug comprised of out of the total set, I know he has some extra studs on his back so I just want to verify the exact amount.

28 or 29

Nice display, Hypernova. Do you have a better picture of your Sauron? I can't really make out what it looks like...

@Kevkipo, thanks for the reply

I would've liked that big hairy troll :wub_drool:

where are you seeing a hairy troll in that image? the one on the left looks to have scales and horns on his face or something, but I'm not seeing what you're describing

Oops, i tought it was hair

Anyone else think the brick built section on Smaug's back could be an indication that the body portion could be used for a Fell Beast? I can't really tell why else it has a brick built potion of the body.

I did think that is was so it could be reused but I was thinking more of a castle line down the line than a fell beast although I would love to be wrong.

Why do people keep bringing up using parts from Smaug for a Fel Beast? The scale would be WAY off. Smaug is at least 3x as big as a Fel Beast. Even uising some parts from Smaug for a Fel Beast would look weird.

I think the fell beast would be smaller, but they could use a very similar design.

Is it possible they were already planning the Jurassic World sets when designing Smaug? His torso might make a passable dinosaur of some kind.

EDIT: Or it could just be for general playability purposes. They may have just appreciated the fact that a fair number of people will want to try sitting a minifigure on a dragon's back at some point.

Actually looking at it, i'm pretty sure it is xP

About the studs on the back, i think that's for playability i even tought of giving smaug armour a few days ago

All dragons have had studs on the back.

Actually I don't have any vikings dragons so I don't know, but all other dragons have.

By "all", I mean both. Both dragons... :look:

I have all the viking dragons, they are all brick-built, but they have a few studs in the middle of their back, for a viking to sit on. Except the two small ones, they don't have studs.

If they made a fell beast (with a Witch King on his back) the same size as Smaug, I'd buy it.

Have you ever placed Frodo or Bilbo next to Gandalf and realised the scale is not quite right? That happens with Lego, but for the most part looks fine.

I agree and I might buy more than one too.
