kevkipo Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Nope, no trace of that scene in the theatrical cut They might put it back in once the EE arrives, but it's hard to tell at this point... OMG why D; i loved that scene! Quote
Steph 104th Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Saw the film today! The sets are decent in waying up to the film but I would have liked to see a lot more. Sitting there(alone) at the end of the film with Billy Boyd's Last goodbye in the background it all came into perspective, the sad reality that is the end of the trilogy and the end of Lego and the films. deskp Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 (edited) Yeah dain's beard is grossly inaccurate in shape and colors. Also he constantly wears a cape in the movie. Edited December 11, 2014 by deskp Quote
Darth Malgus Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 Still a nice little minifig though. Quote
legofreak86 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 Just saw the movie at the midnight showing last night......WOW MIND BLOWN! One thing though, I want a ravenhill set.....c'mon Lego. It's a shame the wave didn't go like this Lonely mountain set: Smaug, Thorin in armour and crown, Bilbo(DOS), Balin (armour), Dwalin (armour) Front Gate of erebor(attack of the wargs price range): Dain, 2 iron hill soldiers, 2 orcs same laketown set City of dale attack (about size of helm's deep)Bard (blue), Thranduil in armour, 3 orcs,2 elf soldiers, Gandalf scarred. Plus a moose for thranduil and a troll Ravenhill confrontation (dol guldur price range): Thorin (leather and chainmail), Kili (same as thorin), fili (same as thorin), Azog (armour), Bolg, Legolas (travel), Tauriel(travel) and gwahir. That would have really done the film justice plus the Dol guldur set. However was not to be, still at least the dale set gives us the characters (not the right versions) for the final showdown and some characters from the main battle. The other 3 sets are relatively accurate though! Quote

I wanna build them so badly! they play such a big part in the movie! Thanks . I'm curious to see how you made it. Hmm, if you are interested about the ram's in the movie The Ironhill soldiers aren't riding ram's in the movie - you can just see Thorin, Kili, Fili and Dwalin riding with them to the Ravenhill, but that scene lasts only some seconds - so they aren't playing a big part in the movie unfortunately ;( Quote

Blazej_Holen Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I desperately miss that magnificent dwarvish phalanx in Lego ! And also I agree with Legofreak that Ravenhill could be a great set, and its totally missing along with Bolg, armoured Azog, Armoured orc, Alfrid Dwarf soldier and Elf soldier. It will be enough to put Uruk Hai armour to Mordor orc figure/gundabad orc figure and voila we have great army of Gundabad orc and orcs from Moria. Even though their helmet was slightly different. legofreak86 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 The only thing I feel unacceptably missing from this line is Bolg. He's the only principle Hobbit Movie character that hasn't been made which just seems a little silly as he is central in both films 2 and 3. It just feels like an unnecessary gap in the line-up. I mean even if we haven't got armoured variants of Thranduil,Azog e.t.c we at least have figures of them in their normal gear whereas bolg has the same armour and gear for both movies and still no figure of him. The one in the videogame is fine to me and it wouldn't even need that headpiece, it could just have it printed and look good enough, its just the armour itself that would need a new mold or maybe even a recolored old mold. Zilcho Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 After watching the movie I think it's a shame we didn't get any elves since they were pretty cool. It would have also been nice to get a Bolg/armoured Azog, but that wouldn't have been a priority. Also, I don't think the ballista in the BO5A set was ever in the movie, was it? Quote

Bolg being missing is understandable though. He was supposed to come in one of the Dol Guldur sets but got removed when the films changed his design late in production, By the time it was done it was probably too late to redesign him even for the final wave. Same reason why we didn't get an armoured Azog in the BOFA set. I think the Hobbit sets have done well with they're character choices. LOTR on the other hand - not getting Eowyn, Faramir, Gondor or an armoured Witch-King is inexcusable. Quote
Hypernova888 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) Oops! My bad, i got a tad mixed up. Yeah the elk was awesome. No big deal! Loads of people get that mixed up. I feel almost...behind, as I live in America and still have to wait 5 days. Which is odd, because I'm usually the first one out of the gate to see the film or something. I wish that AuJ and DoS had done better in the States, as that's what probably caused the odd release date and lack of a midnight premier most places. =/ Edited December 13, 2014 by Hypernova888 Quote

His armor has changed a bit between movies; in Bo5A, he sports a spiky piece of armor on the right side of his body and his arms are covered in iron plates In addition to that, his signature weapon has changed from a regular club to a club/lance hybrid @wesker: What's funny about that is that they simply could have left the old design of Bolg in that exact set since, as I've mentioned before, an Orc with Bolg's old design is in the movie and he even has a few speaking lines. They should've kept him in the set and just renamed him Edited December 13, 2014 by Lego-Freak Quote

But are well, there's still Smaug to buy, his Lego epicness will probably make me focus on what we did get, rather than what we didn't. But i sure have wanted him. Quote
